Kanye West's Next Album Reportedly Will Be "Soulful" & "Dark"

MORE DETAILS EMERGE ABOUT KANYE WEST’S “YEEZUS” FOLLOW-UP

(AllHipHop News) The speculation surrounding Kanye West’s next album has been ongoing for months.

There were reports Ye was going to try his hand at spoken word on the project. Then producer Evian Christ stated the Chicago rapper wanted a sound “a bit like Otis Redding, a bit like Mobb Deep.” One of the earliest stories was the Yeezus follow-up would only be eight songs.

More sources are now saying that may not be the case. According to Billboard, Kanye’s seventh studio album will have more than eight songs. It is also said to have a similar tone to Yeezus with a return to Ye using soul samples.

The music publication reports:

A source says that as of two-weeks ago, there’s 12 songs on the album. Out of six heard, it’s “mostly a mixture of soul samples and tamed ‘Yeezus’-esque darkness… nothing abrasive.”
