(AllHipHop Features) The ultimate Hip Hop mogul and businessman Jay-Z took the number one spot on the Forbes Hip Hop Cash Crown list for “Forbes Five: Hip Hop’s Wealthiest Artists” list, and it’s evident that the Brooklyn-born emcee has no plans on slowing down his endeavors anytime soon.
From being the most nominated artist at the 2018 Grammys with eight nominations, being honored with the Grammy Salute to Industry Icons Award at Clive Davis‘ annual Pre-Grammy Gala, and upping his net worth from $810 million to $900 million, Jay-Z has proved time and time again how he has made an indelible mark on both music and business.
AllHipHop caught up with Remy Ma who expressed her excitement about Hov being honored for his musical achievements and contributions this year.
“Jay is the homie like I think its a lot of times we honor our legends when they are gone. To see so many of them in recent years getting them while they’re still here. It’s amazing; it’s wonderful,” said Remy.
Remy also expressed her joy in seeing Hip Hop & R&B dominate this year’s Grammy nominations.
“We’ve been trying to tell ’em forever but they wouldn’t listen. It’s a wonderful thing I mean I do Hip Hop, and R&B is in my blood. I’m glad that once again that we’re getting our recognition. “Melanin Magic (Pretty Brown)” that’s my latest single. You can download it. You can stream it. You can buy it. It’s everywhere. Pretty Brown is what it’s about right now. ‘7 Winters & 6 Summers’ the album coming soon though,” said Remy.
