Lil Wayne Files Lawsuit Against Booking Agents Over $375K

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Lil Wayne and his company Young Money Touring Inc. has filed a lawsuit against a former booking agent who allegedly stole $375,000 in touring proceeds. Lawyers for Lil Wayne filed a lawsuit against Ujaama Talent Agency Inc. and the company’s owners, Erskine Isaac, David Nelson on August 16th in the Supreme Court of the State of New York.According to the lawsuit, Lil Wayne has worked with the company since the early stages of his career, by organizing and scheduling tours for the chart-topping rap star on a non-exclusive basis. Between 2008 and January of 2010, Lil Wayne participated in four different tours with Ujaama. A dispute broke out between the two companies over the proceeds of the two “America’s Most Wanted Music Festival” tours in Summer and Winter of 2009.  Around October of 2009, when Lil Wayne pleaded guilty to possessing a gun on his tour bus, he again engaged the services of Ujaama to book a national tour before he went to jail on Rikers Island. The lawsuit claims that Isaac and Nelson “elected to divert to Ujaama’s own bank account an amount not less than $375,000, the sum that Isaac and Nelson maintain is owed to Ujaama for the tours in question. Lil Wayne’s lawyer Ronald Sweeney had various conversations with the pair and asked for the money back, but Isaac and Nelson refused to return the money. Just this week, Forbes named Lil Wayne the 4th best-earner in Hip-Hop, after he earned $20 million dollars over the past 12 months.

On that note don’t forget to check out TheSocietyOnline.biz and follow me on twitter @itsJazzyFBaby. Now lets GO IN!

We all know that Joe Buddens maybe one of the nicest dudes out but the commercial status of hip hop just wont let the homie live. In the past Mouse mixtapes usually are critically acclaimed in the streets and Mood Muzik 4 will be no different. Joe gave the fans an update on his twitter page @JoeBuddens about the mixtape and I have to say this may be the hottest mixtape that will leak in the streets. Mood Muzik 4 will include a dope feature from Marsha Ambrosius from Floetry and from some dope production from NYC producer David “Boom” Pinks. Check the twitter updates from Joe Buddens below.

” Very excited about featuring @marshaAmbrosius on #MM4 …

been a big fan 4 quite some time. #SheRocks,” he wrote Wednesday (August

18).

” I won’t lie 2 y’all … i just met a producer who may have

just changed the ENTIRE landscape of #MM4 >>>>>

@davidpinks !! you’ll see.”

” & no, that doesn’t mean #MM4 will be pushed back. lol.” (Joe Budden’s Twitter)

Now I am hearing Yung Joc has some wild pitbulls. Word is Yung Joc was fined  in Fayette County, GA because the electronic dog collars and gates to his property gave out and one of his pitbulls got loose and attacked his neighbors dog. Yung Joc apologized and agreed to pay his neighbors dog medical expenses along with the fine. Now you know your dogs are crazy when you have to put them on electronic collars. I have two words for you to remember Yung Joc. Michael Vick.

We all know Paris Hilton has been OD hush as of late right? Is it that her star power has declined or has the party girl grew up? Brandy and Kelly Rowland was out having some quality time together and dine at Katsuya in Hollywood the night before last. Now I know you all are like ok Jazzy what the hell does that have to do with Paris Hilton. This is what I was saying when I peep the pic of Paris Hilton side by side with Brandy, mad random right? I am trying to figure out was she at dinner with the ladies or did they run into or what. We all know Brandy has been getting her steam back up and the question is, was Paris Hilton just trying to get some press?

DJ Suss One and Maino finally shoot the music video for “Let Em Lay” produced by DJ J Buttah which is still one of the hardest tracks of 2010 in hip hop if you ask me. Now if you are from NYC or one of many other cities Suss One spins on the radio in. You know DJ Suss One gets busy on the turn-tables. Suss One has been releasing some serious heat this year and I hear he just may be releasing a album. I really hope this actually happens because the homie has been putting out some crack for the streets and Hip Hop needs some crack right now. Check the pic below of Maino and DJ Suss One on set. Maino bro the streets is waiting for your new album as well.

Peep this. I can’t even make it up, for real. This is your Debbie Downer moment of the day.

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) – A father still wore a LeBonheur Children’s Hospital visitor’s bracelet when he spoke with Action News 5 outside his family’s apartment in the Cordova Creek complex.??”I just got here,” he said.  “I’ve been at the hospital since it happened.

Action News 5 agreed not to use the name of the father, who said his 14-year-old stepson and two friends, ages 11 and 13, are the boys charged with raping his 23-month-old daughter Monday night.??”We don’t know anything, so talk to the investigators,” the father said.??Memphis Police detailed the disturbing crime in a media release.  They say they first responded to a home invasion call, where officers were advised by the children that a male suspect forced is way into the home.  But sex crimes investigators determined the story was fabricated by the boys to cover up a sexual assault in which the 23-month-old child was raped.??The boys were hauled to juvenile court while the toddler was taken in critical condition to LeBonheur.??The victim’s father would not tell Action News 5 for how long the little girl had been alone with the boys, but the crime left neighbor Cindy Yahola concerned about the safety of her eight year-old.??”We were told the other day by a neighbor that there was a 14-year-old that offered him drugs here,” said Yahola.  “I’m not happy.”??The toddler’s father seemed confident she would be okay before he walked away from our interview.??”She’s a strong girl…hard as nails, so she’s doing good,” he said.??The victim’s father said his step-son had his first hearing Tuesday morning.  The boy’s mother said the other boys lived at another apartment complex in Cordova.KELLY, WE LOVE YOU!

Kanye West x Jay-Z x Swizz Beatz “Power (Remix)”

Kanye. Swizz Beatz. Jay-Z. Power. The remix is here and it is nothing shy of brilliant…if you this sort of Hip-Hop. Seriously, the Power remix is a throwback in many regards, because it evokes the original but also reworks it as well. Jay-Z’s been very passionate as of late and this verse is streams from the same vein as other features with Rick Ross and Drake. Swizz Beatz deserves credit for the remix which certainly reaches epic proportions with the inclusion of heavy synths over thumping drums, choirs and guitar wails. There is also a surprise ending! Check it out.

Lauryn Hill Returns To Charts After 10 Years

(AllHipHop News) Lauryn Hill appeared in the Billboard charts for the first time in 10 years this week, as the former Fugees singer’s “Repercussions” landed at #94 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.  The song leaked online last month and it’s unclear if it’s a future release, or an unfinished track from previous efforts.  “Now it’s a difficult process, a matter of perception/ When I look in the mirror, what is it that I see?/ Is it my reflection?” she sings on the Billboard hit.   Hill was last on the Billboard charts in 1999 when her single with Bob Marley, “Turn Your Lights Down Low,” notched the #49 position.  In June, the reclusive singer granted a rare interview to NPR and said she was excited about performing again. She appeared at a New Zealand music festival in January of this year. “There were things about myself, personal-growth things, that I had to go through in order to feel like it was worth it,” Hill told NPR. “In fact, as musicians and artists, it’s important we have an environment — and I guess when I say environment, I really mean the [music] industry that really nurtures these gifts..” Hill went on to the describe the ways in which the music industry pushes its artists to peform and entertain the world. “Oftentimes, the machine can overlook the need to take care of the people who produce the sounds that have a lot to do with the health and well-being of society, or at least some aspect of society. And it’s important that people be given the time that they need to go through, to grow, so that the consciousness level of the general public is properly affected. Oftentimes, I think people are forced to make decisions prematurely.”  This weekend Lauryn Hill will be performing at the Rock the Bells concert in Los Angeles.

Bow Wow Talks “Lottery Ticket,” Cash Money And Millions

You know him well… we all do.

His name is Shad “Bow Wow” Moss, and he is confident. So confident

that he could make the average soul uncomfortable.  Don’t be…

Bow Wow is humbled. You could even say that he’s a little scared.

To a young man which had his career laid out for him since the age of

5, 2010 and beyond could be his great unknown.

Alas, 2010 marks the 10 Year Anniversary

of his debut album Beware of Dog. Yet there is an aura Bow Wow

gave off; 6 albums, 8 movies to his credits, and 2010 is only the beginning?

In his voice, the answer was yes. And the beginning is August 20th

when Lottery Ticket arrives at theaters across the country.

Part 1 of our Lottery Ticket feature

gave us total access and unfiltered perspectives to Cube Vision’s

visionary, Ice Cube. Part 2 delivers on an extremely vocal leading man,

ready to put the ‘boy’ behind him. Bow Wow talks about his preparation

for the role of Kevin Carson, his respect for the leading lady Naturi

Naughton, and the Ambassador of his next album.

AllHipHop.com:

Take us back to when you were approached about

‘Lottery Ticket’. Was the role of Kevin yours from the very start?

Bow Wow: My agent called me. Told me

that there was this project pending. They wanted to get me over to the

office for a meeting. I met with Erik White. I was familiar with from

his music video directing. Erik told me that if I’m going to do this

movie that he needed me attached to the Kevin role. He said, “When

I think Kevin, I think you.” I remember taking that long flight back

to Miami, reading the script. And by the time I landed, I was in. We

contacted Erik and from there, all the dominoes were put into place.

Here comes (Ice) Cube, here comes (Mike) Epps, here comes Charlie (Murphy)

and here comes Loretta (Devine). The momentum kept growing. From day

1, I knew that this would be a home run for us. I’m just excited to

be on board.

AllHipHop.com:

In which ways have you prepared for this role?

Bow Wow: I watched a lot of movies.

I’ve watched “Juice”, one of my favorite movies. Watching Tupac,

watching ‘Bishop’ and ‘Q’, the roof scene and all that. I needed

all of that as far as the moods of the movie. And you can tell. I wanted

to show people that on screen. We’ve watched a lot of duo movies like

“The Pineapple Express”, “Bad Boys”, and of coarse we’ve watched

“Friday”. We wanted to watch some of the greats. We’ve taken bits

and pieces from every movie. And it helped us out a lot.

AllHipHop.com:

Talk about one of the goals you’ve set for yourself in taking on this

role.

Bow Wow: I just wanted to nail it.

I wanted to show the audience that this is not the rapper, that is the

actor. I wanted people to believe it. And so far, so good. People are

telling me that it’s believable and that it’s a good film. I put

all of my all into this. I shut down my schedule for two and a half

months. It was a dream come true working with Cube and Mike. I didn’t

want to let anybody down.

AllHipHop.com:

I talked to Ice Cube the other day about the climatic scene of the movie,

the moment between you and Brandon T. Jackson. Cube said he received

a call once you were done taping the scene and he was told that you

and Brandon nailed it. Without giving too much about the scene, what

was it like working with Brandon and talk about what went into

it.

Bow Wow: There was really no preparation

for that particular scene. That was the first scene of the morning.

Brandon and I were laughing and joking. But when they called out, “Action”,

we ripped it. To me, when you’re acting, you’re trying. I become

the character. If you become the character, you could be doing anything

at the time someone yells, “Action”, and you’re back in character.

That’s how it works for me. Brandon and I just tapped into the moment.

And when we heard, “Cut”, we were back having fun. I was back tweeting

to my fans.

AllHipHop.com:

The leading lady for the film is the lovely

Naturi Naughton. What have your learned from and about one another while

working on Lottery Ticket?

Bow Wow: It was very easy working with

Naturi. We both started our music careers around the same time (Naturi

with 3LW). I remember being on tour in London early on in my career

with them. It’s funny how God works. I never would’ve imagined that

we’d be working together after all these years. She held her own in

this movie. She has so much experience. She pays a lot of attention

to detail, wanting to make sure that every scene is perfect. She’s

very dedicated to the craft. I can really work with an actress like

that. She made my job easier. I have eight films under my belt, as well

as the Tyler Perry film that I’m shooting right now. I learned from

Naturi. She didn’t need any advice.

AllHipHop.com: Is the Tyler Perry

movie you’re speaking of “Big Happy Family”?

Bow Wow: Correct. I’ll have the pleasure

of working with Loretta Devine once more. It’s another huge cast.

I’m very excited about how my acting career is taking off. I am taking

on all challenges coming my way. The pressure of carrying a Cube Vision

film on my shoulders to working with Tyler Perry; man, skies the limit

for me. No telling what’s going to happen next.

AllHipHop.com:

You grew up in front of millions of people. And with that comes advice

from all directions. Everybody seems to know what’s best for Bow Wow.

What is some of the best advice you’ve received and maybe some advice

you’ve ignored over the years.

Bow Wow: I don’t mean to sound stubborn

or anything like that, I’m not to fond of taking career advice. I

am fine with personal life advice. As far as the business, there’s

nothing that no one can tell me; I’ve been doing this since 5. I’ve

been fortunate enough to have amazing mentors like Snoop and Jermaine

Dupri, now I have Baby as a mentor. These are guys that I have been

around my entire career. This is why I don’t have to ask about anything.

When you have greatness around you, you never have to ask for advice.

The only time I ask for advice is when it’s personal. Otherwise, I

hold my own.

AllHipHop.com: So how is everything

coming along with Cash Money? Any albums or

mixtapes slated to drop in between your movie endeavors?

Bow Wow: It’s simple, I’m moving

in any direction that God wants me to move. This Hollywood thing is

taking off for me right now. And it’s scary because I don’t have

as much time as I once had to get into the studio. But I’m writing

and I do have the “Green Light Mixtape” dropping on August 22, 2010.

It’s all about making sure that it’s the right moment. I’m bringing

in Jadakiss as the ambassador of my album. I’ve decided to bring him

on because I know Kiss. We’re close. I remember going to Yonkers for

a basketball event that he had. He brought me to the hood and we hung

out. There are some personal things that he knows about me. One of my

closest friends is from Yonkers. And when he went away, I held him down.

When Kiss heard about that, he gained even more respect for me. He hadn’t

a clue of how loyal I am. So that brought us closer. I said to him that

it would be a blessing to have him in the studio while I was working

on my new album, to just push me. This is what I meant by bringing him

on as the ambassador for the next album. I wanted to have someone on

my side with a true respect for Hip-Hop. Kiss is someone that people

wouldn’t normally pair me with. But we all know that Kiss is dope.

He is one of the illest emcees of our time. I wanted someone in the

studio like that to push me. If I wrote something that was wack, I needed

someone to tell me that it’s wack. I need that type of coaching around

me, and why not from a Top 5 emcee of all time, without any doubt. I

can’t wait.

AllHipHop.com: You have a very busy

schedule ahead of you, so I don’t want to take up too much of your

time. What would you like to end this conversation on?

Bow Wow: Definitely go and check out

“Lottery Ticket”, support it. We have a great cast. People will

love what we’ve done with this. I got a brand new mixtape on the way.

I got a brand new album on the way, the beginning of next year. Jadakiss

will be on the album, my Cash Money family will be on the album. I will

be in NBA 2K11 with Michael Jordan on the cover. I have a playable character

in the game (Bow Wow). It’s amazing being a part of one of the largest

NBA video game franchises, and to be in it is a blessing. I got a lot

of big things going on right now. And I just want to continue to have

fun and remain humbled. I’m working extra hard right now to be the

best I could be.

Breaking News: Wyclef Denied Run For President Of Haiti

Wyclef Jean’s name has not been included on a list of approved presidential candidates for his native Haiti.

The entertainer-turned-politician sought to run for presidency and announced with much international fanfare. Jean needed to prove that he was a resident of Haiti, one of the requirements for the high office of the embattled land.

A list was released today and it included dozens of candidates, but not Jean says news service Reuters.

Earlier this week, the mega star had revealed that he was receiving death threats from those that opposed his looming campaign. Earlier Thursday, he met with the current president of Haiti and told the Associated Press the meeting was positive.
