(AllHipHop News) Final services will be held for music mogul Chris Lighty today (September 5) in New York.
The 44-year-old, who ran Violator Management and Primary Wave Management, died from an apparent suicide, on August 30.
During his career 20-plus career, Chris Lighty was one of the music industry’s top business managers, with a roster of celebrities like Mariah Carey, Sean “Diddy” Combs, 50 Cent, LL Cool J., Busta Rhymes and numerous others.
Rapper 50 Cent, who earned most of his wealth thanks to the famous vitamin water deal, is still in shock over Chris Lighty’s death.
“Damn my man is gone, I can’t believe it,” 50 recently tweeted. “I woke up on the plane and speed dialed him. This is nuts Chris was good guy.”
The memorial service for Chris Lighty will take place at the Frank E. Campbell Funeral Chapel on Madison Avenue.
The tributes to Chris Lighty continue with rapper Fat Joe dropping a remix of Slaugterhouse’s “Goodbye,” while Cormega released the song “The Letter.”
“He was a leader, a true leader is measured by the success of those he leads and Chris led a multitude of artist, producers and DJs to success,” Cormega said of Chris Lighty.
