Common will make an appearance on the January 22 episode of The Jennifer Hudson Show. A clip from the syndicated daytime talk program is making the rounds on social media.
There has been speculation that Common and Jennifer Hudson are dating. The Jennifer Hudson Show preview seemingly confirmed the relationship status of the two Chicago natives.
“Now, we gotta get down to business, Mr. Common. I’m a host so I have to ask you this question because everybody always wanna know this — are you dating anyone?” Hudson asked her guest.
Common responded, “Yes, I’m in a relationship that is with one of the most beautiful people I ever met in life. She’s smart, she loves God, she has something real down-to-earth about her, she’s talented.”

The rapper/actor went on to say he sets his standards high for the woman he chooses to date. Common also stated, “She had to have an EGOT, she had to win an Oscar on her first movie. I set my standard high. She gotta get her own talk show.”
Jennifer Hudson took home a Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for 2007’s Dreamgirls. In addition, she won her first Grammy Award in 2009. Hudson then received an Emmy Award in 2021 and a Tony Award in 2022, securing her EGOT status.
Common has also racked up numerous industry honors. The veteran MC has three Grammy Awards. He also won an Academy Award for Best Original Song in 2015 for “Glory” with John Legend.
