(AllHipHop News) Ice Cube’s mom forced him to take an ex-girlfriend to prom.
The gangsta rapper was a good boy growing up, who never disobeyed his mother, Doris – and when she decided he should take his ex to the big high school dance, he reluctantly agreed.
“I didn’t want to take her,” he told James Corden on The Late Late Show. “That was child abuse. The lesson is: ‘Don’t break up with your girlfriend three days before the prom – she already bought her dress and stuff…'”
“I had fun, she didn’t,” he added. “I said nothing to her, I was just hanging with my homies.”
But prom night didn’t start off fun for Ice Cube – he ran out of gas on the way home from picking up his suit.
“I’m running down the street, through the ‘hood with my suit over my arm…,” he recalled. “I’m at the house sweating.”
