Will Latto’s upcoming “Sunday Service” single serve as a response to the Atlanta rapper’s adversaries? A veteran DJ from New York City seems to confirm the song will aim at someone.
Funkmaster Flex shared a screenshot of an alleged text from RCA Records representative Kevin Valentini on Instagram. Valentini’s message read, “Latto firing back… ‘Sunday Service’ drops Friday… you’ll have it when I get it.”
The Hot 97 radio personality captioned his Instagram post, “HAD TO LET @INCA_NY/@RCARECORDS KNOW THAT I AM THE PRESIDENT OF THE ICE SPICE FAN CLUB! PLUS I’M FROM THE BRONX! [face with tears of joy emojis].”
Speculation suggested that “Sunday Service” will target Bronx-bred artist Ice Spice. The two rap stars have reportedly been sending subliminal shots at each other for months.
In January, Latto uploaded a “Sunday Service” snippet. Ice Spice appeared on a television screen in the clip as Latto raps, “I just want a one-on-one, don’t know why she’s so nervous.”
Ice Spice reacted to that viral “Sunday Service” promotional video. She said, “Why am I seeing that I’m in the back of your weak-ass snippet?” I was like, ‘Wait a second, that’s me?’”
The Capitol Records-backed performer also confirmed Latto’s video inspired her “Think U the S### (Fart)” single. “Sunday Service” hits DSPs on Friday (February 9).
