Two-time Grammy winner LL Cool J will serve as a co-host for the star-studded 2008 Grammy nomination concert.

The one-hour special will mark the first time that Grammy nominations have been announced live on primetime television.

The show will also serve as a grand opening ceremony for the new Grammy Museum, located at LA Live in Los Angeles, California.

While all the nominations cannot be announced live due to time constraints, the special promises to reveal nominations in several key categories and showcase performances from past Grammy nominees and winners.

At press time, musicians confirmed for the still growing performance list include 14-time Grammy winner B.B. King, 6-time winners The Foo Fighters, 5-time winner Celine Dion, and 5-time winner John Mayer.

LL, who recently celebrated the release of his 13th and final Def Jam Exit 13, will share hosting duties with 5 time Grammy winner Mariah Cary and 2008 nominee Taylor Swift.

The Grammy Nominations Concert: Countdown to Music’s Biggest Night airs live December 3 on the CBS network.

The event will be held at the Nokia Theatre, LA Live, and tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster at www.ticketmaster.com.

The 51st Grammy Awards will commence on February 9, 2009.
