Mac Miller Fans Remember The Late Rapper In Pittsburgh

Fans of the late Mac Miller are marking the first anniversary of his death by taking over Blue Slide Park.

(AllHipHop News) Mac Miller’s presence will forever remain with us.

The Pittsburgh rapper passed away from an accidental drug overdose in his home in Studio City, California, one year ago on September 7, 2018.

Most recently, prosecutors arrested a man named Cameron James Pettit, the drug dealer who sold him bad pills that lead to his death.

On Friday Mac Miller fans started gathering at Blue Slide Park to remember the rapper, real name Malcolm McCormick.

People from all around the country assembled at the iconic park, which was located blocks away from Miller’s alma mater Taylor Allderdice High School.

Fans are looking forward to a tribute concert in October honoring Mac alongside fellow artists, friends, and family.

Last year’s event raised over $935,000 which will be put into a grant fund towards his family.

The first recipient of a $50K grant went to East Liberty’s Hope Academy of Music and the Arts, who plans to use the money to expand their Suzuki music program.

We miss you, Mac.
