Cliff Mac is heading to prison for life after a Michigan jury convicted him on first-degree premeditated murder charges tied to a 2021 Flint shooting.
The 35-year-old rapper was found guilty of a dozen felonies in connection with the death of Devaroe Davis, who was shot outside Eagle Ridge Square apartment complex on August 17, 2021.
According to Mid-Michigan NOW, the verdict marks a major development in what prosecutors describe as a pattern of extreme violence spanning years.
Two co-defendants were also convicted in the case. Andres Vela, 28, was found guilty of first-degree premeditated murder plus 16 additional charges, while 38-year-old Isiah Lejon Claiborne was convicted of being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm and felony firearm.
All three are scheduled for sentencing on July 10th, with Terry and Vela facing mandatory life sentences without the possibility of parole.
Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton released a statement emphasizing the significance of the conviction.
“This verdict represents justice for Devaroe Davis and his family,” Leyton said. “It is also a significant victory for the community because it removes from our streets one of the top crime drivers in the Flint area, someone we believe is responsible for countless violent crimes and homicides over a period of years.”
The guilty verdict comes as Cliff Mac faces additional federal charges related to two separate homicides that occurred in Burton in 2020.
Beyond the murder charges, he’s also been indicted on conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire charges stemming from a 2020 incident where he allegedly hired someone to kill a woman in Sterling Heights.
That victim survived despite being shot multiple times.
