Kanye West Replies To George Bush Jr: ‘I Really Connect With Him’

(AllHipHop News) Kanye West has responded to George Bush Jr.’s recent comments about his Presidency and the rapper’s infamous outburst proclaiming that “George Bush doesn’t care about black people” during a telethon for Hurricane Katrina victims in 2005. “I can understand the way he feels to be accused of being a racist in anyway, because the same thing happened to me where I got accused of being racist,” Kanye West said during an interview with Devi Dev on Houston’s Hot 97.9 The Boxx. Kayne’s comments come on the heels of George Bush Jr. appearance on  Today with Matt Lauer, where the former U.S. President commented on Kanye’s emotional, unscripted statements during celebrity benefit telethon in 2005.  “It was one of the most disgusting moments in my presidency. He called me a racist, and I didn’t appreciate it then. I don’t appreciate it now…It’s not true,” Bush snapped. According to Kanye West, he completely understood Bush’s point of view and admitted to having a deeper connection to Bush’s point of view, after his own incident involving country singer Taylor Swift, during the 2009 MTV Music Video Awards. “With both situations, it was a lack of compassion that America saw,” Kanye West explained. “With him, it was lack of compassion, not taking the time to rush down to New Orleans. With me it was lack of compassion, cutting someone [Taylor Swift] off in their moment. But nonetheless, I think were all quick to pull a race card in America. And now I’m more open and the poetic justice I feel to have went through the same thing he went. And I really connect with him on a humanitarian level, because the next morning when he felt that, I felt that too (because of Taylor Swift).”

T-Pain Comments On “Haters” Of His Michael Jackson Remake

On the internet, an unreleased song was leaked and the internet went nuts on T-Pain. The song was “PTY,” originally recorded by the late Michael Jackson and produced by Quincy Jones. Well, what those detractors didn’t know is that Michael personally requested T-Pain and also Robin Thicke to remake the classic song. T-Pain asks, “Why all the hate?”

For all the people that hate me for ruining ‘PYT’ just stop listening to my s###. But if Quincy Jones tell you he want you to do something, no matter how much s### you know ur gonna get from the [all of the] dumb a#### in the world, you g####### do it. The f##### up thing is everybody’s being so kind to MJ after he’s gone, but how can you wish a man to rest in peace when you never gave him peace [about him] in a life time? I had the pleasure of meeting MJ and when I left his house I got a call from his lawyer telling me that MJ wanted me to remake that song. So everybody that’s being overly disrespectful, you don’t have to like me at all, but you also can keep that b####### to yourself. Like I said I’m making it my job to stay positive on twitter but this is why the image of my people is so f##### up cause we are all to envious and jealous of each other to get passed anything. In conclusion, if you don’t like what I do then stop listening to it… If somebody tells you that my s### is wack, why would you go and try to find it? Just stay off my timeline and [off] my dick and get your s### together. Obviously, I’m straight.

Here is the song in question.

Here is the original.

ChartWatch: Em, Lil Wayne Still Selling! Devin The Dude Quietly Drops!

There’s a Democratic

president losing favor in the media. The Republicans are gaining control in the

government. Random politicians are making random

soundbites about popular rappers. There are a few rappers

going to jail or getting in trouble with the law. MC

Hammer has a record out.  Did we go

back in time?  Is it the early 90’s?  What is going on?  I guess we should be expecting another Tupac

album soon because it feels like déjà vu.

What’s next?  Are Starter Jackets

coming back?  Well, on a good note it is

kind of funny that George Bush is still shook by Kanye’s

comments.

And speaking of good notes,

Lil Wayne is set to walk out of jail this Thursday and will be greeted by

having the number four album in the country.

I Am Not A Human Being moves

another 43,201 copies bringing the EP’s totals to 357,335.

He is followed by Eminem

whose latest album, Recovery, has

moved up three spots to number five.  The

37,757 copies sold this week brings the albums totals to 2,913,922.

All the way down at the 34th

spot is Waka Flocka Flame whose debut album has so far sold 75,594.  This week the Atlanta rapper moves 9,879

copies.

Rick Ross’ fourth album, Teflon

Don, also moves up, from 42 to 38, by selling 9,316 copies.  Ross has sold 452,954 copies to date.

Drake is directly behind Ross at the number 39th

spot.  His debut, Thank Me Later, went

platinum awhile ago and the 9,108 copies sold by him this week brings the

albums totals to 1,143,650.

Finally, John Legend and The Roots, on the heels of their

performance this weekend and the National Mall in Washington DC, move another

7,623 copies of their 60’s inspired album Wake

Up.   So far the collaboration has

sold 145,310 copies.

Dropping This Week

Devin the Dude drops another album with minimal

marketing.  I from Houston and I didn’t

even know he was coming out with a new album.

It’s a shame because I don’t think he has put out a disappointing album

to date.  (of course I’m a little biased….but

I’m sure there are plenty of fans out there that will tell you the same.)  Gotta

Be Me is the seventh studio album from Devin and his second to be released

this year.  He’s been adding a lot of

work to his critically acclaimed collection since ending his decade-and-a-half relationship

with Rap-A-Lot in 2008.  If you like

weed, wine, or women then take a listen to the latest from Devin.

This isn’t necessarily a Hip Hop album but this next group

has such an influence that they get included in dropping.  The Pharrell fronted band, N.E.R.D, drop

their fourth studio album, Nothing,

this week.  The new album features T.I.

and Nelly Furtado, and if you pick up the deluxe edition there is a track with

Fam-Lay.

Not a lot coming out this week but there are some

anticipated albums on the horizon.  Next

week.

CyHi The Prynce: G.O.O.D. Music’s Second Coming Part 2

Continued from “CyHi The Prynce G.O.O.D. Music’s Second Coming Part 1″ CyHi The Prynce: I felt

like this is my take over and I feel like Kanye is the King. I feel

like you may be in bondage from the other rappers that you hear, but

now freedom is about to ring, you’re about to be set free. I’m about

to take over the rap world, that’s what I’m here to do. With that

song I let people know. I’m one of the strongest lyricist from my

city and in hip hop, but nobody ever knew it so now they get a chance

to hear the real. I’m off the shackles now. With that song I let the

real king be featured in one of my verses.  No disrespect to the

other kings out there but I had to come with the true king to get my

point across.

AllHipHop.com: So tell me if the release of Royal Flush is meeting your expectations?

CyHi The Prynce: Absolutely,

It’s over exceeding my expectations actually.  I have to give

a lot of credit to Kanye because he let the world know that I am a great

artist so now everyone is more attentive. Now all of the clever and

little witty things that I might say that use to go over some people’s

head are catching them dead in their tracks.  I love the mixtape,

it’s everything that I wanted it to be even down to the pictures and

graphics.

AllHipHop.com: Tell

me the most truthful song that you’ve ever penned and why was it important

to make a record on that particular item?

CyHi The Prynce:

A lot of the songs are super real.  For example “Can’t Find

Love” is definitely a real life situation for me.  All my songs

are actual things that I have either went through, or thought about

at some point in time.  I don’t do no lying! Everything I talk

about is meaningful on some level. The song “Hear Me Out” that was

about a time in my life where I was facing a lot. I had just lost my

sister and my nephew and a few close friends. I had a girl that I really

liked but we just didn’t work out and that kind of hurt my feelings

as well.

AllHipHop.com: I’m

told that you haven’t had a girlfriend in about seven years. Why?

I mean I know you get plenty of women so what’s been missing?

CyHi The Prynce:  It’s nothing to do with the women that I’ve been meeting. I grew up with three sisters plus my mother and I just respect women so much. I understand that commitment and marriage are nothing to play with. I have way more respect for a woman than she probably could ever think that I do.  Girls get mad at me like “you’re not supposed to tell me that you’re with another girl” but I’m like listen if I was to lie to you, it would hurt you more. I’m not into the lying and cheating bulls**t. Plus I want to marry my best friend meaning that the women I settle down with will have to know everything about me and I want to know everything about her. I’m not the whole girlfriend/boyfriend type either you’re my fiancé, wife, or we’re just friends.

AllHipHop.com: So we’re

going to walk thru the signing with Kanye. Tell me how you first learned

that Ye had interest in signing you?

CyHi The Prynce: NoID called and he was telling Greg Street that Kanye wanted to talk to me and that he wanted to do something with me.  Due to the blogs and everything the word was growing on me. L.A. Reid was actually about to go to Hawaii to meet Kanye so sent my homeboy Boo down there. When I went to meet him Kanye was rapping and quoting my lyrics so I was just excited because he liked where I was going with everything. When I was in New York for the XXL shoot that the deal was going to be official.

AllHipHop.com: Tell

me a little about the new album? Guest Appearances, special features?

CyHi The Prynce: I don’t

even know what my album will be like at this point because Kanye has

opened up so many doors for me so far. It’s just hard to say right

now because I just have access to so many people from Lady GaGa to John

Legend. Right now I’m just piecing everything together slowly but

surely.

AllHipHop.com: How were able to be apart of this years BET Hip-Hop Awards how was that experience for you?

CyHi The Prynce: It

was crazy because just last year I was like man I want to be in the

cipher and this year. When it came around I knew Chaka so I was like

man can you try to get me on but he was like we’ve already picked

the list. I felt like oh no and was instantly hurt. Later on that night

I got a call from my manager and he was like we’ve got to fly to New

York cause you’re doing the cipher with Kanye. I couldn’t believe

it I was so excited. I tell you man God works in mysterious ways.

G.O.O.D. Music Cipher At BET Hip-Hop Awards

AllHipHop.com: You

actually performed at the Fool’s Gold event in Brooklyn Bowl and Kanye

came out to perform “I’m So Appalled.” What do you think you will

always remember about that show in particular?

CyHi The Prynce: Well

first that was my first time being on stage with Kanye.  You know

what’s crazy my first show in New York was in Brooklyn and the crowd

booed me. But this time they were cheering so loud for me. It’s been

on hell of a journey.  It was a once and a lifetime experience

that even now still has me speechless. It was the biggest highlight

of my life.

CyHi The Prynce: G.O.O.D. Music’s Second Coming

Well folks it appears that

the G.O.O.D. Music family is cooking up another bad creation, but no

worries this artist seems destined to find rapping longevity. You may

not have heard of him yet, but you can certainly bet you’ll soon be

acquainted with this southern lyrical gent. “I’m impeccable, they

put me on a pedestal and if you bite me it’s good for you like a vegetable.”

If you happened to catch the BET Hip Hop Awards than you know I’m

referring the little guy with a big mouth of rhymes CyHi The Prynce.

CyHi is about to be the next

rap artist to rise like a soufflé. Did I mention that he has three

major record deals currently on his plate? Who else is making moves

like that? Yes Konvict Muzik, Def Jam, and G.O.O.D. Music are all hailing

the rapper to be praised by the fans of this culture. Listening to his

latest mixtape “Royal Flush” will answer your every whim about this

dude, and have your ears fixated on his word play and delivery. The

26 year old Atlanta native recently did his first mega show with Kanye

in the same city that once booed him to no end. Now if that doesn’t

inspire you what will? CyHi talks to AllHipHop.com about why his flow

is better than yours.

AllHipHop.com: Let’s

start with the name. Why CyHi The Prynce?

CyHi The Prynce: Everybody

was calling me CyHi due to another reason [laughter] but I started calling

myself that because my name is Cydel so I took the Cy from my name and

took the Hi from Highness.

AllHipHop.com:  I’m told that you weren’t even allowed to listen to rap music as a child so how did you discover Hip-Hop?

CyHi The Prynce: Now don’t get me wrong I heard Hip-Hop when I went out to the clubs, but I wasn’t allowed to buy any albums or listen to it in the house. I actually discovered Hip-Hop from a young man that was in my 8th

grade class. I also use to write poetry. I use to write little poems

for the girls to try and make them smile, and my partner was like you’re

really talented with the poems, let me show you how to rap. I started

practicing and writing raps, and it became a hobby that started to get

me noticed so I began to take it serious.

AllHipHop.com:  So you’ve been in the music industry for a while now you started with a group and landed a deal with Def Jam. Obviously, you’re not with the group so tell me a little bit about what happened there?

CyHi The Prynce: It

wasn’t nothing bad, but you have to consider that during the rough

economic times that it was hard to buy 5 guys a plane ticket, hotel

rooms, food, wardrobe, etc continuously.  Another thing, it was

hard for me to expand on the songs and concepts that I would come up

with because I would always have to run it by the group first and make

sure that everybody agreed. I couldn’t really collaborate the way

I wanted too within the group.  It wasn’t about my idea it had

to be about the group idea and I had certain ideas that I just had to

get out.

AllHipHop.com:

Now I know you were able to network and establish certain relationships

in the industry to helped push your career forward. Tell me how your

ability to network increased your business sense out here?

CyHi The Prynce: It’s

crazy cause back in the day I didn’t really have any money, and I

use to run into a lot of people in the industry who would invite me

out so I would just ride with them. My friends would be like “man

I’m not about to be riding around with no dude and I don’t have

no money so he’s got to pay for everything.” I had a different outlook.

I didn’t have any pride because I just wanted to make something pop

off. I was able to make some key relationships and keep those relationships

in good standing.  These people saw something in me too so it was

mutual.

Kanye West and CyHi The Prynce: “So Appalled” Live in Brooklyn

AllHipHop.com: Tell

me how the mixtape game has benefited you best

CyHi The Prynce: Well

my situation is crazy because I didn’t get signed the traditional

way that most artist get signed nowadays.  I didn’t have a big

street buzz, I didn’t have no song on the radio, and I didn’t have

a dance to go with my song.  All I could do was rap and everybody

knew that I could rap, but Atlanta isn’t known for the dudes who just

rap.  It was hard for me to penetrate the game with the style of

music that I had so I just kept stacking my music up. I realized that

I couldn’t just keep sitting on all this music and had to do something.

I was signed to a label, but sometimes the label wants to see you make

a move first. I didn’t exactly have the means to make a move first

so I started to put out music and then I got in touch with Greg Street

who really did a lot for my career.  He guided me in certain ways

and became my mentor which helped me to make the right decisions.

I put out both mixtapes and they sounded like an album. These were the

songs that I wanted Def Jam to put out, but I couldn’t get them to

get behind it so I had to do it myself. That’s all me and my marketing

plan now imagine if Def Jam would have used the “Royal Flush” marketing

plan that I created on a much larger scale that would have been huge.

But on my mixtape every song was a real concept that played out instead

of just a bunch of songs thrown in together.

AllHipHop.com: Now you’re

signed to Def Jam, Konvict, and G.O.O.D. Music tell me how one rapper

ends up with essentially 3 deals?

CyHi The Prynce: I was

already with Def Jam. Well the thing of it is I was signed to Akon,

but Akon is so huge that he’s beyond my genre of music so I had to

work something out to bring my music to the surface as well. What I

ended up doing was working out a deal with his brother Boo and we worked

it out from there.  Than when Kanye came into the fold it made

my music unstoppable.

AllHipHop.com: You begin

Royal Flush with a segment from one of the most powerful speeches known

to man by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. What type of overall statement

were you trying to make and hoping to evoke with the track “Ring Bellz?”

Controversial Rapper Kanye West Headlines 84th Annual Macy’s Parade

(AllHipHop News) Controversial rapper/producer Kanye West will make an appearance in Macy’s 84th annual Thanksgiving Parade this year in New York City. Kanye will headline the parade, which has already tapped celebrities like Jessica Simpson, Jimmy Fallon, The Roots, Gladys Knight, Arlo Guthrie, Big Time Rush, teeny-bopper Victoria Justice and Colombia rocker, Juanes. Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade spokesman Orlando Veras stated that the diversity amongst the artists was intentional, to match the genetic makeup of the 3.5 million people that enjoy the annual parade, which will also be broadcast to another 50 million people, on NBC this year. “We want to make sure we are capturing people who are in the zeitgeist,” Veras said. Despite alleged nude pics of Kanye floating around, Veras said that all performances are being monitored by parade coordinators, to ensure each artists show will be “family friendly.” Other artists slated to participate in Macy’s 84th Annual Thanksgiving Parade include Keri Hilson, India Arie, Miranda Cosgrove and others. The event takes place on November 25th beginning at 9:00 AM.

Breaking News: Willie D of the Geto Boys Sentenced To One Year In Prison

(AllHipHop News) Willie D, a rap icon from The Geto Boys, has been sentenced to one year and a day in federal prison after he was convicted on wire fraud charges stemming from the false sale of Apple iPhones.

Willie D, real name William Dennis, was caught in a sting operation in May  2009 after fronting a company called Texas One Wireless and selling purported iPhones, but never sending the product to customers, according to an FBI report.

United States Attorney José Angel Moreno and FBI Special Agent in Charge Richard C. Powers made the announcement late afternoon on November 2.

Willie D was sentenced at a hearing before United States District Court Judge Gray Miller who committeed the rapper to 12 months and one day in federal prison.

In court, Willie D admitted to acting as an electronics salesman via eBay.

Willie D was ordered to pay $194,087.17 in restitution, the amount that 35 people were scammed between September of 2008 and April 2009.

Willie D is presently on bond until a prison facility is determined for him.

The rapper was originally arrested on May 13, 2009 after returning to the United States from a business trip.

A native of Houston, Willie D is a gold and platinum selling artist from the Geto Boy and is a pioneer that brought Southern Hip-Hop to national prominence in the late 80’s though the 90’s.

President Clinton Comments On Lil Wayne’s Pending Release From Prison

(AllHipHop News) Another former United States President has issued his thoughts on a rap star, with the latest commentary coming from former Chief-of-Staff Bill Clinton, who spoke on Lil Wayne’s pending release from Riker’s Island this Thursday (November 4th). Bill Clinton appeared on “The Morning Freak Show” yesterday (November 2nd) on 96.1 Kiss FM, to drum up support for Democratic candidates running in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. During the interview hosts Mikey and Big Bob asked Bill Clinton about his thoughts on Lil Wayne, who will be freed after eight months in prison, for carrying a loaded handgun on his tour bus in July of 2007. “I tell you what I think about that. I know this is kinda a funny question for you to ask me. My daughter introduced me to rap and hip-hop music, after I said somethings she thought were not very smart. She said ‘dad you need to listen, a lot of these people are smart.’ This guy’s smart and he’s got ability and he’s got a new chance now,” President Clinton said. President Clinton continued his thoughts on the New Orleans rapper, whose music is also on President Barack Obama’s iPod. “I hope is that this is not something just to brand him as a cool guy, but that it will never happen again to him,” Clinton said of Lil Wayne’s time spent behind bars. “A lot of these people they don’t get successful in that, just like any area of life by being really dumb, their really smart,” Clinton continued. “But a lot of them have had really tough lives and they almost think its cool to get in trouble every now and then or they don’t know how to stay out. What I hope will happen is that he has a good life now.”If all goes according to plan, Lil Wayne will be freed from prison on Thursday. “When I’m released, I’ll be giving my musical attention to The Carter IV and promoting I Am Not A Human being I may drop a mixtape! You know me!…the first five things I will do is kiss Reginae, kiss little Dwayne, kiss Neal, kiss Kameron and kiss my wonderful mother Cita,” Lil Wayne told Billboard.

OSCAR GRANT – DON’T FORGET!

Remember Oscar Grant? Sure you do, because you care about human rights and all that good stuff…not just rumors. So, the copper that was convicted of killing Oscar faces sentencing on October 5th. Just giving everybody a heads up, while he didn’t get the maximum conviction, hopefully they will give him the max in jail for his injustice.

Damn, shame that we can’t get justice in this time and age. Meanwhile T.I. and Gucci go back to jail.

DIAMOND EXPLAINS REPO!

Seeeeee…I told you there was an explanation.

LA REID IS NOT GONE, SAYS AKON’S BROTHER!

You learn something new every day! Bu Thiam, VP of A&R of Def Jam Records, (I thought Sha Money was VP of A&R…what do I know!?)…anyway, Bu is saying that people need to get off LA Reid’s back and support the man. He told Sandra Rose why:

As an Island Def Jam Executive, and more importantly a music fan, the recent heat that LA Reid has come under, in my opinion is extremely whack! Everyday I’ve been getting calls from people asking “When is LA getting fired? or what happened to Def Jam?”

The ironic thing about this whole situation is that, over the last twenty five years there are few people more qualified to run a label. When I hear people say that LA can’t hear hit records, I wonder do they realize that LA’s produced over thirty number one singles…Or when people say LA can’t pick stars, do they realize that he signs, develops and creatively supports some of the most culturally significant artists of our generation, Usher, Pink, TLC, Justin Bieber, Avril, Outkast, Mariah, Ne-Yo, Rihanna, Jeezy, Rick Ross, Nas and Kanye, to name a few. Or when people say that LA doesn’t care about anyone but himself, do they realize that he’s groomed some of the best executives and helped put the city of Atlanta on the musical map forever?

In the end instead of adding to the drama, I think we should all stand up and support someone who’s given more opportunities to men and women in the music industry than anyone else in the business.

LIL KIM…IS ON THE WAY.

That’s all that can be said.

NICKI SAYS…

In a recent interview, Nicki gave an insider look at her feelings on Lil Kim.

“These girls aren’t mad at me. They’re mad at themselves,” she states, shooting down questions on why she never took Kim’s bait. “[It’s] jealousy, insecurity and being broke. When you haven’t capitalized and you see I’m about to capitalize on this s### like it’s never been done before, then you’re mad at yourself.”

The full interview is in YRB magazine.
