Kid Cudi and Wale are at odds and the fray has spilled into the public.
The bulk of the beef manifested itself in an interview with Complex magazine, where Kid Cudi explained that he was unf**kwittable. He said that Wale, a former friend, made reference to him where there was a comparison to various genres of sports.
Did you see that Wale interview that he just did, comparing us to sports? Let me clear this up: I’m incomparable to anybody. I don’t care how people take that. No one can compete with me. I’m unf**kwittable; no one can knock me off my s**t. I’m an unstoppable force, I’m a bullet. My trajectory is to the sky. N***as got to do something really spectacular to f**k with me and my realm, and n***as be so bitter that you hear it in their voice.
The freestyle from Wale made reference to an incident where Cudi punched a man that got on stage during his performance. Cudi also said that Kanye West, who signed the Cleveland rapper to G.O.O.D. Music, doesnt like Wales music.
On Twitter, Wale responded n***as lettin that liquid cocaine get to them…..lets go then. The remark is a slight to Cudis arrest in June on charges that he was using the substance. Cudi has since admitted to using it.
Cudi said he would no longer tolerate disrespect his interview with Complex.
The last album, I let people dis me, throw out those jabs in their verses and have their little slick remarks. This time around, I’m not f*cking around. I have no time to think about other n***as. These other mother***ers like feeding off another n***a’s energy, so they mention their name. You hear me talk about n***as? I don’t even talk about Kanye, and that’s my homeboy! They talk about Kanye like they’re bosom buddies with this n***a. Talking about “I be in Hawaii”man, shut the f### up, why you got to tell everybody everything? Then people like Wale get mad that ‘Ye ain’t give him no beats’Ye ain’t give you no beats because we ain’t f***ing with your raps. It’s not a conspiracy theory. We don’t f*ck with you musically, so we’re not going to provide music for you. The s**t is a service, it’s a quality of a certain standard. N***as are just so thirsty it’s ridiculous. I’ve been eating humble pie forever, and people still call me an a**hole. These people don’t know my f***ing lifenow I’m going to give them something to talk about.”
Wale has not commented further.
(AllHipHop News) Foxy Brown’s brother/former manager Gavin Marchand appeared in court yesterday to plead not guilty to identity theft charges, but was rearrested on the spot afterwards. According to the New York Daily News, Marchand pleaded not guilty after he was caught with three associates at designer store Hermes, using a forged American Express card. The men allegedly attempted to buy $7,882 worth of merchandise from the upscale store, but undercover officers doing surveillance foiled their scheme. The men then allegedly led police on a high speed chase, hitting speeds of up to 90-MPH in Manhattan, before being busted. Prosecutors offered Marchand a plea deal and prison sentence of 3 1/2 – 7 years, which he rejected. Yesterday (September 16th) in court, after Marchand pleaded not guilty to the charges, he was rearrested on more Grand Larceny charges. Marchand, 35, faces up to 15 years in prison on the original identity theft charges. In related news, Gavin Marchand’s sister Inga “Foxy Brown” Marchand appears to be staying out of trouble after several incidents in June. Foxy gave a surprise performance at Jamison Ernest’s Incubator fashion show and thanked her lawyers and Russell Simmons for giving her a break.
[Editor’s Note: I first saw and heard of Hud 3 Years ago at a music conference in Dallas, TX. Over the 3 years we reconnected and I saw growth , consistency and some great music. Check out this kid! – Steve Raze]Over the last two years, Dallas, TX artist Big Hud (named
Hud after his last name Hudson) has developed a resume that any artist in the
country would like to have. Having
had two songs featured on MTV Jamz (Whats Wrong Wit Em and Summertime Ish
ft Curren$y), songs with local artists Inertia, Trai D, Dorrough, Big Chief and
other songs in the works with Yelawolf
and XV, Hud seems to be on his way to mainstream success.
By developing a base with a strong underground following of
both backpack rapper and street fans Hud seems to have undeniable
crossover appeal. Take a look at
this sit down with one of AllHipHop.coms newest Breeding Ground Artists as we
sat over looking downtown Dallas in Big Huds urban loft.
Music/Video:Big Hud Ft. Curren$y – “Summetime Ish”
AllHipHop.com: So you got a longstanding career going
on right now, some nice singles working, you got the Summertime Ish, the
Aura and I think people are most familiar with that Whats Wrong Wit Em at
this point. Thats playing on MTV Jams now right?
Big Hud: Yea man [laugher] that Summertime Ish is on MTV Jams also. I made two videos, independent, no deal, so everyday is a
blessing at the end of the day. I can cut on the TV with out no major label or
no major machine behind what I got going on. Its coming straight out of the
heart and the grind and also a great management team. So thats a good look dog.
AllHipHop.com:
Now tell me a little bit about your inspiration. Are you originally from Dallas,
TX?
Big Hud: Yea Im from Dallas, born in Oak Cliff,
raised in Oak Cliff, moved and grew up in Desoto. Im from here man, I got a lot of roots, it aint too many
people out here I dont know out here man. It aint like I stayed somewhere else and then moved to
Dallas, you know. Born and raised
bro, my grandmamma from sunny South Dallas, from my daddy from Mobile, Alabama,
shout out to Prichard, Alabama, shout out to Rich Boy too. So yea Im from Dallas bro.
AllHipHop.com: So
talk to me about some of the collaborations that you have been working on. I
know you did a song with Curren$y on one joint, I know you had Juvenile on
another. We were just talking
about some stuff you were working on, tell me a little bit about what you got
coming up.
Big Hud: Man dog every
time I try and come out with something, I am always trying to push the envelope
man, you know? I just did the Big Boi Musik 1 with DJ Smallz, I did the Big Boi
Musik 2 with Bay Bay, and I got another project coming up called, The Benchmark,
and basically just stating that this is just like the judgment day, thats just
like stating my introduction to the world.
You know with the Summertime Ish it was like a lot of
people started recognizing, and
you know with the Whats wrong Wit Em was cool, but the Curren$y
collaboration raised a lot more eyebrows.
So its kind of like while I got everyones attention, its like let em
see what I got. I got an arsenal
man! I might be doing some stuff with Yelawolf coming up, shout out to Yealwolf. My boy XV, of course Tum Tum, Inertia,
Trai D, from the crib, so its a lot of stuff bro, and Im just making music
everyday man, and its what I enjoy doing.
So it aint, more or less about that hit record, but about being
consistent. The more I can be
consistent, the more fans I can reach and the more of a following I can build,
and once I get that steam, there aint no stopping me.
AllHipHop.com: So you are a Dallas artist, Dallas has
been getting more attention as a city, how do you feel abour your place in that
lineup of artists…So I just try to
touch everything and I just feel like that’s my place man.
Big Hud: Damn, man. My
place bro, I honestly think I have created my own lane out here. Besides whats
going on, I dont really have to put it out there, man it is what it is, its a
lot of love in the city and when I go out of town people are like Man you from
Dallas? Thats whats up! and I know back in the day, it definitely wasnt like
that. At the end of the day, its
various types of lanes, and some songs might be ahead of other songs on the
national scene at this point in time, but the lane I represent is letting
people know theres another side to Dallas. Im not extra hard core, talking
about blowing your brains out and all that man. I represent more of the fly
guy, fly s### man, f###### women pretty women man [laughs] and do that type of thing man. And just let n##### know its not about
the fancy car and flashy chain, but its definitely real life situations going
on in here man. So I just try to
touch everything and I just feel like that’s my place man. I just try to be myself and I say in my
jam, I stay in my own lane HOV man.
So thats me and where I stand man, Much love to my city, Im Triple D
to the heart. Like I told you man,
Im from this mothaf***a, so you know man, this is where Im from bro. It is what it is. I can say what I can say, what other
people cant say cause they aint from here man. When it comes to somebody outside the city, Im gonna stick
up for my city every time.
AllHipHop.com:
Now you have been touring a lot recently, where have you been at?
Big Hud: I just came from Kansas City last
weekend. Shooting to Milwaukee in the morning, I got a flight in the morning,
gonna holla at Tony Neal, shout out to the Core DJs. I think next week I got something
going on in Oklahoma. Should be
going out to Arizona soon, Denver, so you know, I got a lot of people thats
messing with me man. Definitely going to take a trip out to the Bay. The Bay messing with me. So right now its just strategic game
planning man. You know, Im just
doing what makes sense. If they mess with me in this region, then its going to
make sense to go in that region. If they mess with me in Oakland and they aint
messing with me in Alaska, then why the hell would I go to Alaska? So yeah, Ive just been on the road and
soaking it all in and taking it day by day and it can get tiring, but at the
end of the day I am an entertainer, and thats what I do so, thats what it is.
AllHipHop.com: Show money is good money.
Big Hud: Yessir!
AllHipHop.com: So you got The Benchmark coming up
whats coming up for you and whats next? Why did you decide to switch it up?
Big Hud: Its
almost like the Thank Me Later type thing man. Im gonna keep that Big Boi Musik 1 and 2, thats the
legendary series man. Its going
to make a lot more sense down the road.
You know after I drop the EP and drop the album we gonna take it back to
the roots with Big Boi Musik 3. Big Boi Musik is Hud when he didnt have anything man. Just to see how stuff has changed and
to have artists come up to me, and people reach out to me over hundred thousand
miles away, thats priceless bro so thats a good feeling.
So I wanted to do something different man with The
Benchmark, I want to push the envelope man with The Benchmark and its just
going to be a big sound. With the Big Boi Musik 2, people dont even think it
sounds like Dallas you know, but thats just because people havent heard that
side of Dallas music. I dont try
to my music appeal to one concrete area, I want it to appeal to the
masses. I had a DJ hit me up from
Germany this week and was asking for more music and he wanted me to put
together a cipher type freestyle, so they can support me in Germany. At the end of the day thats what its
about. I want to have a platinum record or song. Thats the beautiful thing about this music, its wide open. I be working hard man. Its definitely dope out here in Dallas.

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Busta Rhymes is facing more court action and his been sued for $250,000 by a woman who claims he threw a glass at her at Mr. Chow’s in Beverly Hills, California. According to the lawsuit, which was filed earlier this week, a woman named Devin Cooper and a companion were eating at Mr. Chows at a table next to the rap star. Trouble started when a woman with Busta Rhymes claimed Cooper and her companion were too close to the rapper’s table. Cooper claims she tried to reposition her chair to calm the woman’s down, but the woman continued to instigate the situation. The lawsuit claims that when Cooper attempted to further diffuse the situation by asking the woman to calm down, Busta Rhymes snapped and yelled at the woman. Cooper claims that she attempted to carry on with her dinner, but Busta allegedly threw a drinking glass at her, missing her by “inches.”Cooper is seeking $250,000 for assault and battery. Last week, Busta Rhymes’ name popped in a copyright infringement lawsuit over a track on his former group’s debut album. Drive-In Music claims Busta Rhymes and Leaders of the New School illegally sampled music on their 1991 hit single “Case of the P.T.A.”
Few figures in Hip-Hop can boast a career that spans over a couple of generations. With one hit wonders and trendy gimmicks in and out faster than a car wash, its hard to maintain a resemblance of any career.
Such is not the case with E.A. Ski. Ski has been a staple in Oakland, California for over 20 years. He has produced hits for artist such as Too Short, Spice 1, Ice-T, Ice Cube, and a host of others. Skis production talents are not limited to Hip-Hop. He recently teamed up with actor Danny Glover and won an award for his short film No Problems at the 13th Okanagan International Film Festival.
With Business booming and a packed schedule, Ski took the time out with AllHipHop.com to discuss his secret to longevity, fighting the shadow of Dr. Dre, and the “Maschine” by Native Instruments (click here for more info), his new choice in production equipment.
AllHipHop.com: Whats going on out there on the West Coast?
EA Ski: It’s a nice day out here in Cali man. The sun is shining bright so you know it’s lookin’ real good.
AllHipHop.com: My first experience with your music came through the early Spice 1 albums. I’m from the East Coast though. So how does it feel to know your music influenced many people on the other coast?
EA Ski: That’s always been the goal. Being from the West Coast we looked up to the East Coast. I grew up on East Coast music and I’m a fan of East Coast music. Being in the music game, that was always my goal to be able to make something that could move everywhere.
AllHipHop.com: You’ve been in the game about two decades. What do you attribute to your success and longevity?
EA Ski: Not being stubborn, and always knowing that you can be better. You can reinvent and make new stuff. A lot of older producers and rappers get stuck in a time zone. They feel like older is better. I’m not saying that I didn’t like a lot of the older stuff because I do. But as times change, what are you still going to record on ADAT when you got Pro Tools, and Logic, and Reason? You have to adapt. You can learn from the youngsters as well as learn from the older generation. I’m always learning, listening, and staying relevant to what’s going on.
AllHipHop.com: Even though you have decades under your belt, you’ve still managed to stay under the radar. Is that by design?
EA Ski: For me it’s kind of both. When I was going to put out full products, I got caught in transitions with labels. I was signed to Columbia, I was signed to Priority, I was signed to a lot of labels that merged. It allowed me to go into the lab and put out stuff here and there and go under the radar. I figured that, until I’m able to drop a full length project the way I want to, on a scale that I would do it, I would do it that way instead of over-saturating the market.
AllHipHop.com: Sometimes I feel that Dr. Dre’s dominance put a shadow over many West Coast producers. Do you feel that you may have gotten caught up in that?
EA Ski: That’s a real interesting question. I think Dre was so instrumental in being able to make a record that was so powerful on the West coast that it did overshadow a lot of people. I don’t necessarily think that was a bad thing. I just think that it raised the bar so high that it made you have to go into the lab and figure out what your thing was. A lot of people tried to follow Dre’s format and by the time they followed it, it was old. You can’t keep on having the high pitched sound and he’s already done that. People have to understand that Dre had a great team around him. He has a label and a lot of West Coast cats are independent. When you think about independent you have to work a little harder. Dre programmed so many people, and had so many people, and he had so much dope music, you had to be on point for people to say you were a dope producer. To get on that radar like Dre, you gotta come with it, and I like that.
“Split Personality” EA-Ski and Dr. Dre
AllHipHop.com: Music is constantly evolving and so is the equipment producers use. I hear you’re using the “Maschine” by Native Instruments now.
EA Ski: That done changed the whole game again.
AllHipHop.com: I’m hearing a lot of noise about some of the top named producers switching over to this sequencer. What is it that makes it special for you?
EA Ski: To be honest with you I didn’t know what to think about it until I got it. The way the work flow is allows it to convert from hardware to software. The way the pads swing give you that MPC feel but it’s next level. Words can’t even describe how incredible this machine is. The sounds in there are incredible. It’s a small machine that you can take with you. You can’t take a MPC with you. You can’t carry that big thing with you like that. You can take this machine, put it in your backpack, take it on a plane and make some of the coldest records.
AllHipHop.com: What records have you done using this?
EA Ski: My last almost 20 records I’ve done using this. I just won an award for my video “No Problems” I did on the Maschine. I’ve been going crazy. I did the new Ice Cube and it’s like the Maschine is just incredible.
AllHipHop.com: When you mention that it can switch from hardware to software, explain to people what you mean by that.
EA Ski: The hardware of it is that you can hit the pads, but you can still see it in your software if you go into Logic or Pro Tools or whatever. But for those who like to hit the pads, you have the hardware. It allows you to do both things at once. I work in “stand alone.” Thats when you run the machine by itself. But they have a feature called the “Drag and Drop” where once you finish that track, you can drag that right into your Pro Tools or Logic session. Then boom, the track is right in there with no delay. It’s the most incredible thing that I’ve seen being in Hip-Hop. They (Native Instruments) really were thinking about how to make producers be able work in a comfortable fashion without losing a step.
AllHipHop.com: Well since youre cranking out all this material with the Maschine, what can people keep their ears open for from you?
EA Ski: Well right now I have an artist named Locksmith and this kid is incredible. I’m working on Ice Cube’s new album called I Am The West that’s dope. I’m working on my solo album The Fifth Of Skithoven and I got a lot of great features with Tech Nine, Ice Cube, and B-Real from Cypress Hill.
(AllHipHop News) Hip-Hop star T.I. failed a drug test with his probation officer and tested positive for marijuana and codeine, the active ingredient in the illegal drink “Sizzurp.”T.I. was stopped around 10:40PM on September 1st for allegedly making an illegal U-turn on the Sunset Strip. When officers searched the car they found ecstasy on the rapper and his wife, Tameka “Tiny” Cottle. T.I. and his wife were released on $10,000 bail and could face up to a year on the possession charges in Los Angeles. But things could be more serious for T.I., because he is on three-years supervised probation, after he was convicted of attempting to purchase machine guns with silencers before the BET Hip-Hop Awards in 2007. Now T.I. must face the judge who cut almost nine-years off of his original prison sentence and allowed the rapper to serve just one year, due to his celebrity influence over teens. T.I. probation officer listed three possible violations of his probation, including the ecstasy charge, associating with a convicted felon named Cortez Thomas and testing positive for opiates on September 2nd. Judge Pannell has not set a date for T.I.’s hearing.
In a time of limited opportunities, boxers never have the luxury of taking a loss. It can take months or even years for a fighter to reestablish themselves following a bad setback. Take 23 year old Victor Ortiz, who was a highly touted Golden Boy prospect featured heavily on HBO in 2009. But after an exciting TKO loss to Marcos Maidana last year, Ortizs marketability was tainted by questions about his heart.
After two rebuilding fights away from national TV, Ortiz returned to HBO with an easy decision win over Nate Campbell in May. This Saturday (September 18), he faces another veteran in Vivian Harris on the PPV undercard of Shane Mosley vs. Sergio Mora. A win and Ortiz keeps his position as the #1 contender for WBO titlist Timothy Bradley.
Is Victor Ortiz ready for a title shot and to stake his claim for supremacy at junior welterweight? Read on.
AllHipHop.com: How did this training camp go physically? And mentally where are you at for this fight compared to your others?
Victor Ortiz: Training camp has been hectic and its been tough. But my mentality is good, it always has been. I havent gone anywhere [mentally]. I know Im in for a fight and in a good state of mind. As far as that goes, Im ready. Im making the weight (140 pounds) easy.
AllHipHop.com: With Nate Campbell he was too slow to get to you on the inside. And even now with Vivian Harris you have the speed advantage and hes a little less durable than Campbell. Are you planning to be more aggressive or take more a boxing approach like the Campbell fight?
Ortiz: [Pauses] On that youll have to see September 18 and I dont even know what to tell you on that. I listen to my coaches and whatever they have to say about that on fight night. As far as Im concerned Im gonna find out with you [laughs].
AllHipHop.com: Wait, so your camp is going to improvise everything on fight night?
Ortiz: Nah, the coaches are always working on things. Just some things I dont know yet because we dont know what hell be up to yet.
AllHipHop.com: As a young fighter, youre going to learn a lot from every single fight. Compared to last year, in what areas do you think youve improved the most as a fighter?
Ortiz: Im young and this sport is different, you have to learn as you go along. You have to learn pretty fast, too. I cant really say exactly what Ive learned but I can tell you I have.
AllHipHop.com: So do you feel stronger as a fighter in terms of punching power?
Ortiz: I feel Ive matured in many different ways. Maybe power maybe not [laughs]. Im not sure but I do feel strong and that definitely counts for something. On speed I think Im ok and ready [for anyone].
AllHipHop.com: Your junior welterweight division is one of the best when it comes to young talent like Timothy Bradley, Amir Khan and Devon Alexander. Is there anyone besides yourself you enjoy watching?
Ortiz: No, not anyone in particular. I actually like to sit back and watch all of the fights when they come on, no matter who it is.
AllHipHop.com: Under Golden Boy youre around a lot of future Hall of Famers like Bernard Hopkins, Shane Mosley and Oscar De La Hoya. What advice did they give you after you came off that tough loss to Marcos Maidana last year?
Ortiz: They gave me their experience and [tips] on defense, but at the end of the day it was me who made my decision on what I wanted to do. I think I came back ok, yknow?
AllHipHop.com: For those who havent been in a ring, talk a little more about what you did personally to get your mind together to rebound from that loss.
Ortiz: Well, that loss never meant anything to me. I knew it wasnt me who fought that night, so I blocked it out completely. I blocked out media and made sure to stay away from anything that had to do with you guys [laughs]. And from there I was able to bounce back.
AllHipHop.com: Some fighters have their career mapped out. For example, one fighter might say they want to be out the game by 30 with a certain amount of money saved up. Are you thinking that far ahead?
Ortiz: No, Im taking it fight by fight. I know what Im capable of doing, so right now its all about having fun with it.
AllHipHop.com: On that note, what would you say is the fight you had the most fun with?
Ortiz: I would have to say the Nate Campbell one. That was pretty fun. I thought it was funny when he tried to talk back to me in the ring. I was just smacking him saying shut up [laughs]. That was definitely fun.
AllHipHop.com: What were some of the things he was saying to you?
Ortiz: He was saying I wouldnt beat him and that I was too young. And that he was going to knock me out. I was like shut up, youre too old. He kept that up the whole night.
AllHipHop.com: I was on the conference call you had with Vivian Harris. He was trying to goad you by saying you arent durable and very fragile. Are you treating this trash talk no different from Campbell?
Ortiz: Definitely, but you have to realize something. He might be an older guy but hes still dangerous and a threat. Im not up against a walk in the park. Im not going to take him lightly, not at all. He wants what I have and on Saturday well see. Ive prepared very hard for this.
AllHipHop.com: Youve have three wins, two being stoppages, since the Maidana fight. Are you ready for a shot at one of the titlists?
Ortiz: Yeah, Im ready for that shot now! It really doesnt matter who, but I am the #1 contender for [Timothy Bradleys] WBO belt.
AllHipHop.com: Before we go let the fans know what music youre into.
Ortiz: You know that new Chris Brown song Deuces? Thats my jam. I got tons of artists. I love Trey Songz. Rey Fresco too, although theyre Reggae theyre pretty bad ass.
AllHipHop.com: Sounds like you have a few artists for potential ring entrances.
Ortiz: That would be awesome! I need to look into that.
AllHipHop.com: Good luck to you on September 18.
Ortiz: I appreciate that man, take care.
The Shane Mosley vs. Sergio Mora PPV will take place on September 18 at 9PM ET. Victor Ortiz vs. Vivian Harris will be accompanied on the undercard by Saul Alvarez vs. Carlos Baldomir.

PAULA ABDUL VS JENNIFER LOPEZ
Yall may or may not care, but I thought it was funny, because neither one can really sing all that well.
Paula Abdul had some personal choice words for J LO. Paula Abdul asked for $12million from American Idol and got denied and therefore left the show. J LO asked for more and seemingly ended up getting the $12million dollar offer. Both started out as dancers and turning singers. Paula is extra heated about this. Look for more on this to come out soon.

EMINEM THINKING ABOUT NICK CANNON?
Bizzarre talked to Angela Yee and gave Nick Cannon a stern warning.
“I heard it. It was absolutely terrible. Terrible. He was trying to act like he was Slick Rick. He was terrible and [just] a God-awful rapper. But him trying to do a Slick Rick accent was just absolutely horrible…You don’t want that one-on-one with Marshall. Nick, you don’t want that one-on-one.”
Illseed says: Obviously Nick wants that since he dissed Eminem straight up.

How is Tip gonna get out of this? Peep what the Atlanta Journal Constitution is reporting:
Rap star T.I. has been ordered to appear before a federal judge in Atlanta and explain why his probation should not be revoked because of his recent arrest in Los Angeles.
The summons was signed Thursday by U.S. District Judge Charles Pannel Jr., who sentenced T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris Jr., for firearms violations.
The order, signed by T.I.’s probation officer, lists three possible violations of his bond: possession of ecstasy on Sept. 1, testing positive for opiates on Sept. 2 and associating on Sept. 1 with Cortez Thomas, a convicted felon.

Daily News- the mother and two sisters of a Brooklyn woman charged with killing her newborn will testify they had no clue she was pregnant.
The three women will be among 17 witnesses set to testify beginning today at the trial of Laura Sergio, 28, who prosecutors say murdered her 6-pound infant daughter on April 7, 2007, at the family’s Bay Ridge home.
Cops found the baby, wrapped in a bloody towel, in a trash bag on the porch of the house
Sergio gave birth in the bathroom and claims amnesia and no memory of the crime. Her sister Andria, 30, was charged with improper diposal of a human body, accused of moving the child after she had already died. The other sister Cara, 32, was charged with obstructing governmental administration for hindering the investigation. Charges on the sisters were dropped

Dre’ Dinero – Starr Media Group: THE INTRODUCTION
My name is Andre “Dre’ Dinero” Davis and I own an Independent Label by the name of Starr Media Group. My man Jigsaw from AllHipHop.com hit me up and asked if I wanted to do a blog on the site regarding what it takes to run an up and coming indie label and the struggle and grind that goes into attempting to break a new artist. At first I looked at the opportunity as a sure fire way to promote the acts that we are working and to let everyone know how “HOT” we are. Well after much thought and heated discussions with my partners, that’s not going to happen, I’m not going to talk about how “HOT” we are because it really doesn’t make a difference what I think it ONLY matters what the fans and the people think. “Dont Talk About It, Be About It” has always been the way I live my life so why stop now. So with that said let me give you a little insight into what we do at Starr Media Group and the thought process behind our movements.
I started this label four years ago with my business partners (Ronnie Knotts and Brad Smallz). If I would have known when I started, the amount of hard work, personal sacrifice, financial expenditure and the number of scumbags I would encounter on this journey I would have definitely reconsidered. So much for dreaming, Im neck deep into our Hip Hop/Pop group Trillogys Ride Around Town campaign, check book in one hand and Blackberry in the other. There is very little room for error in this game so I am constantly cracking the whip at the studio, rehearsal hall, on every graphic, beat, mix, piece of clothing from our stylists, on every performance and on anything that remotely pertains to our label while making sure that the artists are constantly working on their craft and the support team is doing the same. My job is to make sure that every I is Dotted and every T is crossed. Most artists who get involved in the music industry think that someone is going to knock on their door with a big ass Ed McMahon check because they spit a hot 16. I’m sorry to tell ya – “Ain’t Gonna Happen.” This hustle is no joke, as a matter of fact it isn’t a hustle at all. Making it in the music industry is more like an addiction, hoping and praying that youll be the lucky one to get strung out on it.
With that being said, let me introduce you to our group Trillogy. We just shot a video to their new single “Ride Around Town” directed by Jay Rodriguez of Itchy House Films.
Track and video below.
Until next week. Keep your head up, keep grinding and remember……
I may not be there yet, but I’m closer than I was yesterday. ~Author Unknown

Dinero

[Editors Note: After sitting down with them at Mr. Lee’s studio, on set with Slim Thug for their music video and so the way their mixtape was hitting the streets of Dallas, I new these guys meant business. Then I observed the songwriting. Pop, R&B and of course the spectrum of Hip-Hop, this duo are individually equally talented and together a unique to the game. Pay attention to these guys. – Steve Raze] The wonderful world of rap music has turned into what some would say is an industry full of facades. Things are seldom what they seem and individuals are hiding behind false monikers. Mid-West/Southern duo Thugged Out offers quite the contrary. What you see is what you get, and what you hear is based upon a true story. The twin brothers Mutt Dogg and Bullet, from Gary, Indiana now transposed in Dallas, TX, show an entirely different spectrum of the small city that bred the king of Pop. Sharing an account of the grit and grind that has gone into making their own lane, Thugged Out discloses a design in which they have carefully structured enabling them to make the fallen third member of the group proud while putting on for a city in which they are the Hip-Hop presence. Thugged Out Ft. Slim Thug – “Fair Exchange” [Heater Of The Day]
AllHipHop.com: First off, where did the name derive from?Thugged Out: At the time, thats who we were. We were just that, Thugged Out. Now, were like the blueprint of a Thug; we can show you how to get in and out of the game. AllHipHop.com: What is it like to be in a group with somebody as close to you as your brother?Thugged Out: Its beautiful; its great to work with your family. And then were closer than most because were twins. AllHipHop.com: How might a listener be able to tell the difference between you and your brother while listening to a song?Thugged Out: I (Mutt Dog) have a higher pitched voice than Bullet Boy and Bullet Boys content are sometimes more on the gangsta side and mine might be closer to the commercial side. Yeah and physically Im [Bullet Boy] bigger physically than Mutt Dog [laughter]. AllHipHop.com: Who decided to do music first?Thugged Out: Mafioso, our older brother and third member of Thugged Out; who was shot and killed, was doing music with another group before we even thought about rapping. We were like Mafiosos hype men. If it wasnt for Mafioso we probably wont be rapping. Bullet Boy and I got locked up and when we got out the three of us formed Thugged Out. AllHipHop.com: Is there ever a sense of competition between the two of you?Thugged Out: Yes, all the time, we are very competitive with each other. Its healthy competition because it makes us stronger but at the same time we give each other advice. We share the same drive, goals and ambition to strive for success. AllHipHop.com: Do you both have the same musical influences?Thugged Out: Yes we do, weve been influenced by Tupac and others in the game like Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and DMX AllHipHop.com: At what point did the transition from hobby to career take place?Thugged Out: At the very first show we did. When we noticed how the crowd reacted to our show and how they knew every song we put out on our first album, we knew we needed to be in the game of entertainment. AllHipHop.com: Explain how the collaborations with mainstream artists such as Slim Thug have come about. Thugged Out: We was new in Texas but our song was burning up on the radio [“That Girl Bad”], so we reached out to Slim Thug to do the remix. Since we was coming out of Texas, Slim realized that we wasnt no dancers and saw the song had a lot of spins, he jumped on it and we took it to the next level.AllHipHop.com: Gary, Indiana isn’t a town that has held much presence in the Hip-Hop realm, what is the Hip-Hop culture like in Gary?Thugged Out: The Hip-Hop culture is growing considering that we coming up now, Gary, Indiana always had talent, look at Michael Jackson, he was from G.I. but we are the next generation stars. Gary, Indiana has seen us from the time we first started to now. Our city supports us, they are happy for us and they want to see us successful. The people of G.I. know our background, they know our struggle and they want us to put G.I. on the map. So, yes there is a hip hop culture in Gary, Indiana and we are the Hip-Hop scene along with Freddie Gibbs, Finger Roll, Don Vito and others.AllHipHop.com: It’s as if you two are now upholding the legacy of your brother Mafioso, what type of pressure does that bring about?Thugged Out: It really isnt no pressure because we are doing what any other brother would do, its more hurtful than anything because hes not there physically but he still lives on in spirit. We always strategize every move we made by three, with him gone, it feels crazy with out him. He was always the solver of situations in this rap s###. AllHipHop.com: What can people expect from Thugged Out in the immediate future?Thugged Out: We got 3 mixtapes coming out one called Global Thugg by DJ Drama, another one called Tearing Up The Interstate by DJ Smalls and another not titled. Then we have 2 new singles “Fair Exchange” (radio joint) and “Swagged Up” (club joint) with videos to go with them including shows, features, ect . Stay tuned to be a witness a Global Thugg Take Ova.
(AllHipHop News) Two more promoters have been hit with lawsuits stemming from attempts to book superstar rapper Drake. According to a lawsuit filed on September 13th in Dallas District Court, promoters Carlos Goodspeed aka Golden Child and Jason “DJ J Rudd” Rudd are named in a lawsuit, claiming they took deposits from a Dallas-Texas, based promotion company named 80’s Baby Entertainment, but never delivered the rapper. The lawsuit claims that 80’s Baby entered into an agreement with the defendants on three different occasions, to deliver rapper Drake and R&B singer Ciara. 80’s Baby claims the issues started in March of 2009, when Goodspeed took a $27,500 deposit to book Ciara, Plies, Soulja Boy and Webbie for a Summer Jam concert.Around April of 2009, 80’s Baby claimed they discovered that Ciara was on a tour of Europe and couldn’t make the performance. Goodspeed allegedly promised to wire the money back to 80’s Baby account, once Ciara’s label had refunded the money. The need for the deposit to be returned intensified in July of 2009, when 80’s Baby Ent. wanted to use the deposit to book Jamie Foxx through a different promoter. By August, 80’s Baby was hurting for the cash, which Goodspeed never returned. In December of 2009, 80’s Baby and a third party began to negotiate a deal to book Drake with a new party, the defendant, Jason Rudd. After Rudd and the third party negotiated a $20,000 deposit for Drake, Rudd assured the promoters that if Drake failed to show, all monies would be returned, per-the contractual agreement. Unbeknownst to 80’s Baby, Carlos Goodspeed was allegedly in control of the bank account that Rudd deposited the $20,000 payment in to. “In mid February [of 2010], plaintiffs called Cortez Bryant directly and asked him about Drakes booking for March in Austin, Texas,” 80’s Baby claims in the lawsuit. “Cortez Bryant said he had no knowledge and had not been informed of Carlos Goodspeed booking Drake for Plaintiffs. Cortez Bryant made a statement that Carlos Goodspeed is fake booking, and that Drakes booking had been outsourced to another management group.”In addition to recovering almost $50,000, 80’s Baby Ent. seeks damages for Fraud, Breach of Contract, Negligent Misrepresentation and Theft of Service. In February of 2010, Drake lashed out at fake promoters for scamming his fans and stealing taking deposits for his shows. It is frustrating for me to hear that many of my fans, who like myself are innocent victims in these scams, have been misled due to the greed of these promoters, Drake told AllHipHop.com. I apologize to any fan that has been a victim of these circumstances or feels let down by false advertising.
