(AllHipHop Rumors) Lloyd Banks has been a constant fixture in Hip-Hop since the beginning of his with G-Unit. Not only did the rapper help propel G-Unit into a supergroup, but he also saw solo success as well.

The G-Unit collective would help 50 Cent catapult his success after his debut album “Get Rich or Die Trying.” Success was a norm as their brand was featured on everything from clothing to Xbox video games.

As a solo artist, Lloyd Banks debut album “The Hunger For More” would reach number 1 on the Billboard Top 200, Top R&B/Hip-Hop, and Top Rap Albums charts.

The album featured the hit singles “On Fire,” “I’m So Fly,” and “Karma.” His follow-up album “Rotten Apple” would also reach number 1 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop and Top Rap Albums charts. The album spawned the single “Hands Up” and reached number 3 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart.

Things have cooled down for Lloyd Banks since his initial ascension in the music industry. However, Lloyd Banks has still been able to be a constant presence in the rap world.

Earlier today Lloyd Banks took to Twitter and confused people a little bit about the status of his career.

“I fell in love with Hip Hop over 25 years ago..it was that thing I turned to during good times and bad..just wanna say thank you to the artist B4 me that inspired me..and send my appreciation to everyone that supported me till this day THANK YOU!!

He continued, “With that being said.I think it’s time to lay it down.”

Many people thought this meant the rapper was retiring, but it looks like that is not the case, according to Lloyd.
