New Houston Rockets forward Ron Artest has partnered with DJ Drama to release the latest edition in the long-running Gangsta Grillz mixtape series.
Entitled World Wide Warier Presents King of Queens, the next installment features a collection of songs and freestyles from Artest himself, and up and coming artists from his Tru Warier record label, including Challace, MR QB, Foul Monday, and D. Artest.
Previously, Artest worked with Sean Diddy Combs, Juvenile, Nature, and Capone of CNN on his 2006 debut My World. Two years later, Artest feels the new Gangsta Grillz collaboration will show his growth as an artist and CEO.
Team Tru Warier and DJ Drama have created a beast of a mixtape, Artest told AllHipHop.com. Ron Artest is still acclimating to his new Rockets team after an August 14 trade from the Sacramento Kings. Despite the new environment, the former all-star and defensive specialist dismissed any questions of his focus and remains confident that hell be able to juggle his music endeavors and the goal of winning an NBA championship.
Im with a new and exciting team playing alongside great talents like Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming. Im ready to go hard and bring the title home to the Rockets, Artest explained to AllHipHop.com. So, you already know how hard I work on the basketball court and I will continue to work as hard and even harder in the music field.
The new mixtape is available now for download.
