Kendrick Lamar’s 4th Album Has A New “Expected Release” Date

A PRE-ORDER PAGE FOR K. DOT’S LATEST BODY OF WORK POPS UP ON ITUNES

(AllHipHop News) Many Hip Hop fans were patiently waiting for Kendrick Lamar’s musical return today (April 7).

That was the date K. Dot warned his peers to be wary of in his recent song “The Heart Part 4.”

When the clock struck midnight on the 7th, a new album from Kendrick did not arrive, but a pre-order option did pop up on iTunes.

However, Pitchfork reports the iTunes pre-order page does state the “expected release” date for the album is now April 14, 2017.

It also reveals the project has 14 tracks including the recently released single “HUMBLE.”

In addition, U2, BADBADNOTGOOD, DJ Dahi, The Alchemist, and 9th Wonder are named as contributors to the Lamar body of work currently only listed as ALBUM.

TDE label head Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith may have given a hint on Twitter for his followers to still keep an eye out for more news from Kendrick’s record company.

“Follow my ig gwadpot,” tweeted Tiffith.

Previously, Kendrick Lamar dropped the critically acclaimed albums Section.80good kid, m.A.A.d city, and To Pimp a Butterfly.

The Compton emcee also released the Overly Dedicated mixtape in 2010 and the untitled unmastered compilation in 2016.

Lamar spoke about his latest LP in a March interview with New York Times Style Magazine.

“When I say ‘the little girl,’ it’s the analogy of accepting the moment when she grows up. We love women, we enjoy their company,” stated the 7-time Grammy winner. “At one point in time I may have a little girl who grows up and tells me about her engagements with a male figure — things that most men don’t want to hear. Learning to accept it, and not run away from it, that’s how I want this album to feel.”
