(AllHipHop News) Photoshop could not hide the truth about Rick Ross’ past as a correctional officer and according to Ross, he does not regret it at all. During his interview with Sway Calloway, the Mastermind rapper admits to discussing his past as a correctional officer on his new album.
On the song “Rich Is Gangsta” off Ross’ Mastermind album, he makes an allusion to his past as a correctional officer. In the lyric, he blames federal agents breaking up his operation for his reason for entering the job as a correctional officer:
Feds tore apart the squad, n*gga
That’s why I had to play the part, n*gga
That wasn’t me, it was a job, n*gga
It gets deeper, that was just a start, n*gga
Ross admits that the lyric is “most definitely refers to me being a C.O.” and then later expands on the motivation for him to take such a job while admitting that he would do it again:
Right now, to feed my family, I’d do it again. Yeah, yeah, to feed my kids, I’d go get it. We gonna go get it. My whole team gonna go get it.
