Drake Has Turned Taylor Swift Out!

(AllHipHop Rumors) As you know, rumors have been swirling that Taylor Swift is allegedly Drake’s new lady of the week.

Despite the rumors, both parties swear that their relationship is just musically based.

It looks like Drake is in fact turning Taylor Swift out though as her new album is rumored to be a mix of both Hip Hop & R&B.

This could still be a win for Taylor as her fans are die hard just like Beyonce’s, meaning they’ll support anything she puts out.

However, we can see the Hip Hop and R&B community ripping her to shreds once again.

According to TheSun, Taylor wants to explore a new urban sound with this album, and she’s tapped her new buddy Drake to do so. A source claims,

“Taylor is always looking at ways to grow as an artist and really wants to try something different and unexpected for the next album. She’s not afraid of experimenting so she’s working with a lot of different faces to see if she suits a new sound.”

Apparently Taylor believes she’ll have “urban” success again since she did with her collaboration with Kendrick Lamar on her song “Bad Blood.”

Our inner petty is actually just waiting to see if a joint Kanye West diss record makes the cut.

REVIEW: Politically Incorrect, Westside Gunn’s Hitler Wears Hermes 4 Might Be What Hip-Hop Needs

Image result for Hitler Wears Hermes 4Hitler Wears Hermes 4 (HWH4) is Buffalo rapper, Westside Gunn’s latest installation in his controversially titled street album series and, like his last 3, the project is ART, straight up. Customarily, folks write album reviews after a listen or two. Me? I might take a week or two. It seems tardy, but it helps me determine the longevity of the music.

Comparable to a classic mobster movie, this project consists of all the most illest elements – a dope storyline, shady characters and a lively storyteller laying the narrative on thick – all set to a grimy, ominous instrumental backdrop. An array of meaningful dialogue snippets set up the scenes; interludes and samples provide the transitions; dirty boom bap snares, bumping kicks and crispy high hats power the songs forward; and lyrically, Wes delivers that ‘hardbody’ rap.
On HWH4, Westside Gunn keeps the roster interesting with solid guest features by Stalley, Smoke DZA, multiple appearances by his brother, Conway, the angelic-sounding yet soulful Tiona D, and more. The production and engineering crafted by GxFR’s producer Daringer offers the signature, sample-heavy loops, dusty drums and intriguing instrument leads he’s known for. Lyrically, Wes sticks to his vivid scene depictions and that braggadocios sh*t he’s perfected. Each track unfolds stories not unfamiliar to his fanbase; lyrical scenes depict everything from struggles to come-ups, paper-chasing to stunting etc…

HWH4 plays like a movie and offers everything a great flick has; drugs, money, backstabbing, foul play and revenge, drama, romance and even heartbreak.

The album opens with “The Cow,” featuring Gunn’s blood brother and vocal opposite, Conway. Together, the two offer an identifiable approach that somewhat contrasts but is still relatable, if that makes sense. The hefty vocals, rasp and growls in Conway’s voice bring a menacing tone to every line he spits; the perfect complement to his brother’s, sharp vocals that slice through mixes like a hot knife through butter. The track is arguably one of the best on the album, drawing you in from the moment you hit play. Conway’s verse is the first to be heard over the dirty drums following the opening dialogue sample. He tells an impactful personal account of his come-up, his struggles, encounters with foul-play and a contemplation of his mission in the rap game:

“When I pulled up and seen that yellow tape outside, had me ready to grab the stick and go apes outside […] maybe God ain’t want me killing them n##### and doing time, maybe God wanted me here to kill ‘em with the rhyme.”

This is unquestionably one of Conway’s most well-crafted verses to date which opens the track for a fashionably late entrance by the main event, Westside Gunn, and sets the tone for the rest of the album in a big way.

The opener is followed up by “Nasty” which immediately keeps you drawn in thanks to Daringer’s dark production, led by pronounced piano keys. Wes immediately addresses his opposition and threatening repercussions to his enemies in his classic style. He brings that energy and confidence, dropping a quick parallel to Hulk Hogan to end the track.

The Almighty hypnotizes with a soulful sample at the top of the beat that repeats into an addictive loop, courtesy of Daringer’s skillful beat weaving. The mood is set and Westside Gunn lets off every bullet in the lyrical arsenal at a steady pace; no need to rush when you know you’re in your motherf*ckin bag. 5X A Day follows, with a solid delivery from both emcees and the same A1 production delivered consistently by Daringer.

Aunt Rosie’s: Yo…. Rumor has it this was a true story, lol. Here’s where the romance and heartbreak comes in. The nostalgic, 80’s reminiscent guitar leads in, followed by WestSide Gunn’s ode to a certain girl that clearly had him spending lavishly on her. Problem is, the cinematic track wouldn’t be complete without a heart wrenching betrayal. The track quickly takes a turn to bittersweet disses delivered with utter disgust. Heartbreak hurts and Gunn spares no insult or revolted nuance with every line, each time delivered like a punch to the heart. Yikes, definition of trife life.

Mr. Fuji is set up with an epic announcement and intro – Gunn’s first few bars don’t disappoint. Set over a simple yet impactful loop, Conway makes an appearance again, as always delivering hard-hitting lines, bar for bar. The last verse is delivered by Harlem native, Smoke DZA who offers blow for blow via his signature menacing tones; a quality collaborative effort.

On Ringside Rocking Furs, Tiona D’s sweet sounding yet powerful vocals offer a nice change of pace in the album, demanding attention and repping the FLYGOD to the fullest. It’s the perfect momentary ear break before diving right back into the dirty kick snares that are interwoven throughout the album. Like frosting on a dessert, Keisha Plum ends it off with track appropriate spoken-word, bringing the song to it’s eventual fade-out.

Nitro kicks off with another pronounced guitar lead and the right instrumentals for the brazen wordplay to be delivered by Conway and B.E.N.N.Y. The production keeps the mood alive but doesn’t overpower; the emcees rise to the occasion and keep the track’s energy up. Starting right after the dreamy sample in the Walked on Water Interlude, Free Ike Free Kiki is the perfect resolve for this album.

The project is undeniable and another reason why the industry won’t be able to sleep on Westside Gunn for long. Every new release continues to solidify why Griselda Records’ (GxFR) rock solid camp is destined for everything legendary. As the hip-hop culture shifts with time, those who respect the ART know it takes more than dope rhymes.

“As a CEO I had put my money into an artist, but he went to jail for like 8-9 months. While he was in there  Gucci told me to start rapping so I took it up.  I’ve had jewelry and cars and me and Gucci argued about it, but after I did a song I started liking it, “Mojo said.   “I am more of a storyteller, but I began to get to liking shows and dropping mixtapes. When did you know you wanted to be a recording artist?

Growing up, I was always obsessed with music. My brother is 7 years older than me, and around age 3 or 4 he’d bring home cassettes of Nas, Kris Kross, sh-t even Keith Sweat. I looked up to my older brother, so naturally I started to love what he loved. Then, throughout my whole childhood I’d constantly watch Rap City: Tha Basement when I got home from school. I was hooked super young. I think I wrote my first raps around 9, believe it or not.

How did you first connect with Just Blaze?

Before moving to New York and living in the suburbs outside of Hartford, Connecticut,  the internet was really my only connection to the outside world. Long story short, I paid a lot of early dues doing graphic design for random people in the industry. One of those people – Bald God – eventually years later played my stuff for Just, and we had a meeting about a week after.

What have you learned from working with him?

Just is a big music guy, through and through. I’ve learned a lot from him over the course of working with him: just make sure the music is great, first and foremost, and don’t jump the gun on anything, let it come naturally.

How has the internet played a role in your career?

You know, as I previously said — the internet is everything to my career. Without it, I wouldn’t have found a pirated copy of Photoshop. Without it, no one would know who the f-ck I am. My whole fan base and a lot of close industry friends I’ve made over the years is because of the internet. I owe my whole career to the internet. I’d be lying to say otherwise.

How is You Knew All Along different from Perfectly, Tragically Flawed?

You Knew All Along is really a compilation rather than a project. YKAA was not planned, it just really happened. Whereas, Perfectly, Tragically, Flawed is really a short album. Myself and [PTF producer] Maki really sat back and thought about how I should sound coming back out. PTF was days upon days in the studio, working for a certain goal.

On “Sip,” you say this is a “brand new Cue”? What has changed about OnCue?

I can’t explain it as well as I wish I could. I’ve had some ups and downs in my career, and I feel like I’ve made it on the other side without a scratch on me. I feel very much clearheaded these days. I feel as if I know what to do now. I’ve never really been more focused.

What inspired the subject matter for “43 ‘God’”?

Life – as cliché as that sounds. I’m a huge Bon Iver fan, and I’ve had the new album on repeat since it came out in September. For the first time in a long time, over the Summer I found myself slowly creeping into a serious relationship and I just wanted to write about it. That feeling of uncertain positivity. I was just really zoning, and writing is therapeutic.

Willy Wonka – misunderstood businessman or creepy child abuser?

People just want to make some crazy sh-t out of a child’s movie. Culture has changed. Back in the day, kids and adults interacting wasn’t a weird thing. You’re wild for this. Ha.

What are your Top 5 Hip Hop albums by East Coast artists?

Hmm… This question feels so crazy because all the albums that come to mind are old. Damn the East Coast gotta get their crown back. Blueprint by Jay Z, We Are The Streets by The Lox, Ghetto Fabolous by Fabolous, Lord Willin’ by Clipse – I know they’re VA, but let’s keep it honest it’s closer to East Coast – It’s Dark And Hell Is Hot by DMX, and maybe Ja Rule’s 3:36… Too many as I think.

Hip-Hop Mogul Russell Simmons Writes Letter To Donald Trump

(AllHipHop News) Russell Simmons has penned an open letter to Donald Trump, imploring the new president-elect to drop his campaign of hatred.
The hip-hop impresario has known Trump for nearly 30 years, and describes the real estate mogul as a “real friend.”

However, he voiced his concern for Trump’s time in office in a letter published on The Huffington Post.

Simmons campaigned against his friend during the election, but has said he will work for, and with, the country’s new president.

“You’ve never been a part of the Republican Party or the Democratic Party, as neither of them ever fully embraced you. You have been an independent thinker and successful businessman, who has spoken your own truth during your entire life,” the Def Jam co-founder wrote.

“While I disagree with many of the things that you have said during your campaign and many of your policies that you have proposed, you will still be our president, and I am willing to work for and with you.”

The 59-year-old asked Trump to “seek honest council” with his friends in New York, rather than his inner circle of advisers who led his controversial campaign.

“Those who have surrounded you during the campaign have offered some very dangerous policies that would hurt people and the planet, which I want to believe you still care about,” Simmons added. “The far right wing and the alt-right were your most staunch supporters, but those people are not your friends, and you know that.

“You have the chance to be the first true independent president this country has ever seen, but your radical beliefs you ran on during your campaign must be addressed.”

Simmons promised to keep an open mind for a Trump presidency, but also vowed to take action if the new president-elect makes “a dangerous move.”

“Remember that if you make a dangerous move, the people will be at your front door – I am sure you heard the 100,000 people who showed up last night in front of your New York City apartment,” he wrote. “The numbers will only grow and they will be in front of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue every night for four years. And I will be there with them.”

San Diego Rapper Truth Ali Drops “Fred Savage” Single

Bred in Bakersfield, but recently taking his talents to the sunny Southern California artistically trained rapper, Truth Ali has been building this buzz beach side for several years now. Ever since he moved to study at the Art Institute and after the passing of his late grandfather, Truth has stepped up his game working with emcees like Royce Da 5’9” and Kxng Crooked (formerly Crooked I)

“I’ve always been a round music, I used to live around my grandfather and in 2006 he passed away from kidney cancer and he was kind of in and out and right before he came back to life, the last thing he told me was, ‘You have the last round.”  Truth Ali said. “Since then I’ve taken it more seriously and that when I started getting show and understanding that this is what I really want to do. I started networking and connecting the dots and now I’m here to release my new single ‘Fred Savage’.”

The single “Fred Savage” can be found on Truth Ali’s project The Wonder Years set for release in mid November and drawing from the classic 80’s television show starring Kevin Arnold.

“Then name of my album is the ‘Wonder Years,’ so I took that concept and now I’m more or less just narrating my life and my path just like the show. If you realize on he show he always things something is going to happen and he always exaggerates the outcome, so when I wrote the track I kept that in mind and I wrote the most outlandish punchlines I could,” Truth Ali explained

Going forward Truth Ali will be going on a West Coast radio tour with DJ Bille Knight, as Truth is introduced to and interviewed by influential Hip-Hop DJ’s across the West Coast.

Chi-Town G’z Go Looking For Soulja Boy In Cali

(AllHipHop Rumors) The past few weeks, Soulja Boy has managed to stay relevant. How? I think the media has something to do with it. Anyway, he has his own media, which includes revealing where he live. I don’t know if dude actually put his whereabouts on social med, but I hope not. Some dudes SB had issues with are reportedly coming to see see him in real life.

I’m thinking these young men need to pick up a book and read. Or check out the Willie Lynch letter.

The only thing is, if they are actually going to do something with or to Soulja Boy, they are recording it. This would be very incriminating evidence if the LAPD started to sniff around. You know, SB is a bit of a big deal in general. I’m thinking we need to get back to the day when bad boys move in silence.

Here is something equally entertaining for you.

Lil Wayne: I’m A Roc-A-Fella Millionaire (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) By now, most people are aware that Lil Wayne is not on good terms with his longtime label Cash Money Records.

Wayne has been battling with the company for years over unpaid money and the delay of his Tha Carter V album.

Followers of the New Orleans-raised rapper also know Wayne has declared he is a big Jay Z fan and even considered signing a deal with the New Yorker’s Roc-A-Fella Record at one point.

Wayne reminded the world he may still be interested in officially teaming with Jay.

“I’m a motherf-cking Roc-A-Fella millionaire,” rapped Wayne at a concert.

Last year, Weezy became an artist-owner of the Jay Z led Tidal streaming service.

“I just signed a deal with my motherf–king idol,” Wayne announced in June of 2015.

The partnership led to a lawsuit by Cash Money, claiming Tidal did not have the legal right to host Wayne’s Free Weezy Album.

Is Desiigner Cooning?

Desiigner seems to be such a nice dude, but anytime you start to do a jig in front of uppity White folk, you are likely coonin’. In this new video, I am not sure if the Brooklyn rapper is doing a Stepin Fetchit routine. Bobby Schmurda was way worse.
