Mike Brown's Family Releases Statement Regarding No Indictment Ruling

A grand jury composed of one black man, two black women, three white women and six white men; have finally revealed their verdict, choosing not to indict Ferguson Officer Darren Wilson in the shooting of unarmed teen Michael Brown.

Following the announcement, the Brown family has released a statement via their lawyer:

“We are profoundly disappointed that the killer of our child will not face the consequence of his actions. While we understand that many others share our pain, we ask that you channel your frustration in ways that will make a positive change.  We need to work together to fix the system that allowed this to happen. Join with us in our campaign to ensure that every police officer working the streets in this country wears a body camera. We respectfully ask that you please keep your protests peaceful.  Answering violence with violence is not the appropriate reaction.   Let’s not just make noise, let’s make a difference.”

The parents of Michael Brown will hold a press conference November 25 at 11 a.m CST in order to provide additional comments.

This story is still developing.

No Indictment For Officer Darren Wilson In Mike Brown's Killing

As people stood outside of the courthouse, some with their faces covered, blasting loud music screaming “F–k the police,” the decision that they feared was revealed.

It was announced by prosecutor Bob McCulloch (Nov. 24) at a press conference that no probable cause was found to indict police officer Darren Wilson on charges for the death of 18-year-old Michael Brown. Wilson fatally shot Brown on Aug. 9th in Ferguson, MO.

Before McCulloch revealed the decision, he said many accounts given by witnesses conflicted with the physical evidence or completely refuted the physical evidence and the autopsy. He said many said that they saw Wilson stand over Brown and shoot him in the back. His autopsy results showed that he had no gun shot wounds to his back. There were three autopsies conducted and they were all consistent, McCulloch says. Witnesses later revealed that they gave accounts of hearsay or what they thought happened.

The jury consists of six white men, three white women, two black women and one black man picked randomly in May before the incident occurred.

Since there will be no trial, the testimonies will be released as well as audio of the final ten shots fired during the incident. Wilson is reportedly resigning from the police force.

The city of Ferguson anticipated this decision would provoke another round of riots and have taken cautionary actions. The city was locked down today, with people leaving work early, stores closing, even the public mail system being shut down. Schools are also closed tomorrow (Nov. 25).

Master P Honors & Covers Funeral Arrangements For Slain 12-Year-Old Ray Etheridge

Rap mogul Master P used his “Let The Kids Grow” basketball camp in order to honor 12-year-old Ray Etheridge who was found murdered in Cherokee Park within Louisville, KY.

After video surveillance directed authorities to 21-year-old homeless man Joseph Cambron, police apprehended and charged the suspect with murder and evidence tampering. According to authorities, Cambron stabbed the child to death then ditched the murder weapon; he has since admitted to the crime.

JOSEPH CAMBRON

Said the boys’s father Ronald Etheridge, “The love of my life was my son. I don’t know who this guy is. Being 21 years old and my son being 12, he had no business to even be around my son.”

After learning of the case from community organizer Christopher 2X,  Master P offered to pay the funeral costs for the seventh grader and used the basketball camp, which fuses basketball and life fundamentals together, as an outlet to teach kids about negative cycle of street violence and the importance of an education. Having lost a brother to violence himself, the artist has often gone out of his way to assist the youth.

The family is also collecting funding in order to purchase a headstone for the boy affectionately known as “Ray Ray.” Donations can be made to the Ray Allen Etheridge Memorial Fund at any local PNC Bank branch.

The Mike Brown/Darren Wilson Indictment Decision Expected Today

Sources with AllHipHop have begun whispering that a decision will be handed down on a Ferguson police officer that killed unarmed Mike Brown in August.

However, the early report is that the odds are not favorable that Darren Wilson will go to trial for murder.

Justin Hansford, Assistant Professor St Louis University Law School, told AllHipHop, “A prosecutor is supposed to make the case (for murder), that’s his job. (Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch) just said ‘Look at the evidence (against Darren Wilson).”

Hansford also outlined the law in the case, arguing that it is clearly states a crime was committed by Officer Wilson.

“The law around excessive use of force in Missouri is unconstitutional.  If they don’t issue a grand jury announcement correcting that, the whole thing is illegitimate,” he said.

However, an antiquated, largely unused law may offer a loophole for Wilson, according to stlpublicradio.org.

An outdated Missouri law that allows police to shoot an unarmed fleeing felon could help Officer Darren Wilson avoid an indictment and prison, legal experts say.

If St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch advises the grand jury to follow the outdated law, he would be reducing the chances of an indictment. Wilson could be viewed as acting in line with state law when he shot unarmed Michael Brown after he began to flee.

Now, only time will tell when and if a verdict will be handed down. In order to get a grand jury decision has to be unanimous 100% agreement.

Other sources have indicated that a press conference may happen later simply to inform the press and the people that no decision has been made. CNN has definitively confirmed that the grand jury has made a decision.

AllHipHop will continue to keep rolling updates as they come.

Ferguson Grand Jury Reaches A Verdict, Announcement Expected Today

All eyes are on Ferguson as the St. Louis grand jury, which has been deliberating on whether or not to charge officer Darren Wilson in the shooting of Michael Brown, has reportedly reached a decision.

In a case that has sharply divided the Missouri suburb along racial lines, the 12 person group has been tasked with establishing whether there is enough probable cause to bring Wilson to trial. Officer Wilson, who remained quietly married shortly after the shooting, has been on paid administrative leave during the investigation and is allegedly preparing to retire from the force.

Fearing a repeat of the protests and unrest that plagued the city following the initial slaying of the unarmed teen in August, Missouri Governor Jay Nixon has already declared a state of emergency, relieving the Ferguson police department in favor of the National Guard.

J. Cole’s third studio album, which is an ode to his childhood home,  2014 Forest Hills Drive, is almost here and to ready fans for its arrival he has given us access through his December/January 2015 cover story for Complex. The “Power Trip” rapper also spoke about the idea of early retirement. He says it’s not something he is thinking about but if his upcoming album was his last that he would be content with that.

“I don’t know. I love doing it, so I’m not going to use that as [a sales pitch], like, “Last album—make sure you go out and buy.” But I’m content if this is my last one, going out like this. Listen to all my music and you’ll hear this n#### who went to New York City and started with a dream; he gained his confidence and his step with The Warm Up and was here to show y’all n##### “I’m the best”—and Friday Night Lights put a stamp on that. Sideline Story was like, “I have to figure this s### out and sell records.” Born Sinner was “F###, that wasn’t how I wanted to do it. I gotta make up for that one, I got to get back to myself.” And then fighting through all of that to realize on 2014 Forest Hills Drive, “No, this is where it was always at.”

Take a look at the real 2014 Forest Hills Drive below.

Ex-NBC Employee Helped Pay Bill Cosby's Victims Off; Accuser Wants To File Class Action Lawsuit

As the days go by, Bill Cosby’s image becomes more and more tarnished.

One of the newer accusers, Louisa Moritz, wants to gather nine of Cosby’s accusers and file a class action lawsuit against him, TMZ reports. Moritz told TMZ last week that Cosby sexually assaulted her in his dressing room before an appearance on one of the Tonight Show programs back in 1971.

Her case may get thrown out because she waited so long to say something and because of a statute of limitations. Moritz said she already began consulting with lawyers.

Meanwhile, an ex-NBC employee has come forward with his own claims against Cosby. Former NBC facilities manager Frank Scotti said that he aided Cosby in his extramarital affairs from 1989-1990. In an interview with the NY Daily News, Scotti said that not only would he stand outside of his dressing rooms after young models were invited in, but he would also pay these females up to $2,000 a month for them to keep quiet. Scotti said that he delivered payments to eight different women over the course of that year. One of these women was  Shawn Thompson, whose daughter Autumn Jackson claims that Cosby is her father.

“I was suspicious that something was going on,” said the 90-year-old. “I suspected that he was having sex with them because the other person he was sending money to (Thompson) he was definitely having sex with.”  He continued, “Why else would he be sending money? He was sending these women $2,000 a month. What else could I think?”

Scotti said he decided to come forward because he “felt sorry for the women.”

So far, allegations show that 17 victims have accused Cosby of sexual assault between 1965 and 2004.

Idris Elba To Release Another Role Inspired Album

After creating an album based upon a previous character, actor Idris Elba has decided to try it again; announcing a new album based on John Luther, a police detective with a dark past that Elba currently plays in the BBC crime drama Luther.

Explains Elba, “Detectives carry a lot of stuff. They meet someone who’s done something heinous, but they have to have an objective perspective on them until proven… That could create some really good songs… and definitely an interesting mood, musically.”

Elba first got the idea after his portrayal of Nelson Mandela in “Long Walk To Freedom,” which inspired him to record Mi Mandela, which features Mumford & Sons, James Black and more. He’s previously collaborated with Musiq Soulchild and fellow brit Estelle.

The album has tentatively been titled Murder Loves John.

Former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani Blames "Black On Black Crime" Not Ferguson PD

During a conversation on “Meet the Press” regarding the potential problem with largely White police forces in minority areas and the potential for “new Fergusons,” former Mayor of New York City Rudy Giuliani stunned many after advising that “I find it very disappointing that you’re not discussing the fact that 93% of blacks in America are killed by other blacks. We’re talking about the exception here. White police officers won’t be there if you weren’t killing each other 70% of the time.”

Professor Michael Eric Dyson of Georgetown University retorted “First of all, most black people who commit crimes against other black people go to jail. Number two, they are not sworn by the police department as an agent of the state to uphold the law. So in both cases, that’s a false equivalency that the mayor has drawn, which has exacerbated tensions deeply embedded in American culture.” He added, “Black people who kill black people go to jail. White people who are policemen who kill black people do not go to jail.”

As frustration continues to grow in Ferguson, many have questioned how a city that is over 67% Black is only represented by three out of 50 officers; which statistics show have resulted in Blacks being nearly twice as likely as Whites to be searched and arrested.

With the Grand Jury set to continue deliberating today on whether any charges will be filed in the killing of unarmed teen Michael Brown, St. Louis County is still currently under a state of emergency with a decision now expected as early as mid-week.
