Georgia Files $1 Million Lien Against Nas Over Tax Debt

(AllHipHop News) Nas continues to battle the IRS, as the state of Georgia has just filed a lien against the rapper’s earnings.

TMZ.com reports that the Georgia Department of Revenue has garnished Nas’ wages over taxes owed for 2006 2007, 2009 and 2010.

The rapper currently owes $1,083,435 to Georgia, which is now garnishing the rapper’s earnings from a tour with Live Nation.

Live Nation is the company that is promoting Nas’ current tour with Lauryn Hill.

The state seeks the wages from the outing in order to pay the debt.

Ironically, next week (November 27), co-headliner Lauryn Hill could be sentenced to up to three years in prison, for failing to pay taxes on $1.5 million she earned over the past decade.

Exclusive: Joe Budden Speaks – Beef and Brain

No beef, no malice, not at all/I got no vendetta for y’all/I mean I only want better for myself/Sometimes I even want better for y’all” – “No Church in the Wild Freestyle”

What’s beef? In this place, this space, with Joe Budden there is no room for that. Jersey’s metaphorical genius is preparing the release of his mixtape A Loose Quarter, Friday (November 23), along with his third studio album, No Love Lost, (January 22), through E1 Music.

Coming off the success of Slaughterhouse’s debut and a multitude of mixtapes, Budden returns with a re-energized zest for music.

AllHipHop.com hung out with Joe in Philly on his “The Second First Impression Tour,” and got him to talk about getting brain, being embarrassed, and beef.

AllHipHop.com: Throughout your career you had a lot of beef – or people had beef with you. Can you speak about the beefs that are going on in Hip-Hop, such as Meek Mill and Cassidy?

Joe: I’m not with the beef sh*t. I can’t judge either one of those brothers; I’ve had my fair share of beefs, so because of that, today I am able to look from a real unbiased standpoint. You can just say a prayer and hope everybody learns from it one day.

AllHipHop.com: So let’s talk about No Love Lost. You seem to be different now, almost zen-like. What’s going on?

Joe: You are like the third person to tell me that today. I’m in a good place. The album’s title speaks exactly to where I am in life. I’m in a place of serenity, with so much gratitude so much to be thankful about. The album is different for me. I don’t have the brain energy to even lend towards bullsh*t. My brain today, at 32 years old, is strictly on the things that matters most to me, and that’s my family, my team, music, God, and myself. If it’s not that, it’s not important.

AllHipHop.com: Let’s talk about “Momma Said”.

Joe: Yeah, “Momma Said” is off the mixtape coming out Black Friday, A Loose Quarter. It’s a real direct, real genuine, real heartfelt, basically coming from a conversation with my mom. If it’s one brain I respect most, it’s hers. She always gives sound advice. We talk like friends – not like mother to son. We talk like best friends; there is no information I hold from her.

AllHipHop.com: Name something that you’ve gotten embarrassed about.

Joe: (laughing) I maybe couldn’t get it up one time, ages ago.

AllHipHop.com: When was the first time you got head?

Joe: I was like 13 years old; Lil Nina from West Side Ave. did a horrible job.

Time and experience makes everyone see life through a different lens. Joe Budden is rejuvenated, focused, and ready for anything the world throws his way.

For more Joe Budden, check him and girlfriend Kaylin Garcia on the third season of VH’s “Love and Hip-Hop”.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Drake Hating On Chris Brown And Mad At Nicki Minaj?

Chris Brown is the man in these streets still. Dude, these people are playing at such a high level, its hard to conceive. But, when you are at the top, you gotta play ball. The American Music Awards are a decidedly POP affair. Hence, why there was limited Hip-Hop and lots of Hip-Pop. Well, Chris Brown is pop like a MF now and therefore he performed last night along side Swizz Beatz. Well, Perez Hilton has apparently reported that Drake did some passive aggressive stuff as Chris Brown was rockin’ the house. He played on his cellphone while CB performed. Like the whole time. Nonstop. It would seem that he didn’t want to at like he was enjoying the show, but that is actually liking it more. The great Parish Smith said, “And like a sucka, yeah, you look the other way / that’s when I know you’re on my d**k kid, but its OK.” I’m not saying its all that, but that’s what they would be saying it is.

People that have studied the body language between Drake and Nicki are saying that there is beef between them. Did you see it? I didn’t.

Hip-Hop Rumors: A Rapper Beats Up Cop! Epic Tattoo Fail Involving Gucci Mane!

EPIC FAILURE!

Yesterday on Twitter, I said that I was a failure. I take it back. This is what failure looks like.

Seen at Black Media Scoop, some fool tatted a pic of Gucci Mane on her NECK. The tat is so dope that it includes the Ice Cream Cone tat that Gucci is so getting rid of. How can you get a tat of a tat that that man doesn’t even want anymore. We HAVE TO DO BETTER!

THE COP FIGHTER!

AWWWWWW! I know I have your attention now. Or you will hate me. Well, Dee1, the rapper from New Orleans is regarded as a very popular figure in the underground. But, he’s now made it to the big stage and he’s beating up cops!

I don’t watch Treme, but this is a good look for the “conscious rapper,” and and odd one since he’s considered a positive dude. I guess Hollywood is what it is.

Here is Dee-1’s “Stupid Fool” video.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Which YMCMB Artist Has His Sights Set On A Disney Princess?

This is one of those crazy rumors – one that may actually end up being true. A few years ago, Young Money released the song “Every Girl”, and on the track, YMCMB President Mack Maine raps about bagging a certain Disney princess.

Check out the lyrics below:

“For free suites I’d give Paris Hilton all-nighters. In about 3 years, holla at me Miley Cyrus. I don’t discriminate, no not at all.”

Well, it’s been three years and Mack Maine has not lost his desire to date the Disney cutie, who has recently gotten a short blond punk haircut to go with her new bad *ss public persona. To reiterate his interest, Mack has even changed his Twitter avi to a photo of Ms. Miley.

Miley noticed the tribute and decided to ask Mack about it. Check out their flirty Twitter exchange below:

Mack Maine is going in!!! This could be a good look for Miley, who has been trying to change her image from a goody goody to a bad girl, a la Rihanna. She even got the short hair to match…this may work for her. But is this a good look for Mack Maine? Hell yes! Go hard, Mack Maine!

Hip-Hop Rumors: What The?! G Dep Says He's "Happy" With 15 Years To Life Prison Sentence

It sounds as if former Bad Boy artist-turned-PCP addict G-Dep has come to terms with spending the next 15 years of his life behind bars. As I’m sure you’ve heard, back in 1993 when G-Dep was only 18 years old, he robbed and shot a man and got away with it. The guilt of that crime had always haunted Dep and in late 2011, he decided to come clean.

Dep walked into a police precinct and confessed to the robbery and shooting, and unfortunately for him, it turned out that the man who Dep shot was actually killed. Dep went on trial for the murder of Job Henkel, and he was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison.

Now serving his time behind bars, G-Dep is at peace with his fate, and in a new interview with NY Magazine, he actually reveals that he is “happy” about his sentence. Check out what he said below:

“I was happy. It sounds crazy to say you were happy about getting a fifteen-to-life-sentence, but I was. It just seemed to me like the end of a nightmare…I was living in 1993 for seventeen years.”

I’m happy that G-Dep has found peace, and hopefully he can forgive himself for taking someone else’s life. The article is a really good read – you can read the full piece here.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Did Diddy And Kid Cudi Come To Blows Over Cassie?

Early this year, there was a rumor circulating that Kid Cudi and Cassie had a secret rendezvous behind Diddy’s back. From what we heard, Kid Cudi and Cassie were good friends, and Cassie confided in him regarding her issues with being Diddy’s side piece. The source says that Cudi took advantage of Cassie while she was emotionally weak and seduced her.

Related: Hip-Hop Rumors: Did Kid Cudi Hook Up With Cassie Behind Diddy’s Back?

According to Bossip, Diddy was furious with Cudi and even allegedly threatened to have him killed! Well, ish hit the fan on Tuesday night when all three went out to Club Trousdale in Hollywood. Check out how Bossip reports it below:

“The club owner didn’t know that the two had beef over Cassie and decided to sit Diddy down next to Cudi,” the spy tells BOSSIP. “The two then exchanged some heated words to the point where the entire club was watching – creating a huge scene.”

That ish Cray!

Side note: Kid Cudi must really be going through something right now, because we hear that he has given up some of his parental rights for his daughter. According to TMZ, Kid Cudi agreed to give up custody of his daughter in exchange for visitation rights. According to his daughter’s mother, Cudi has violent tendencies and a “long history of consistent drug and alcohol abuse.”

It sounds like Kid Cudi needs an intervention.

Cash Money Records Reaches Milestone: 500 Million Songs Sold Worldwide

(AllHipHop News) Cash Money Records has reached a rather amazing milestone in the history of the record label: 500 million songs sold worldwide.

Cash Money Records, which was founded in 1991, had one of their best years in their 21-year history, which included sponsorship deals for Lil Wayne, awards for Nicki Minaj and a cover story for Billboard on founders Bryan “Birdman” Williams and Ronald “Slim” Williams.

“There is no more dynamic and prolific a label than Cash Money Records and the YMCMB family – point-blank. We’re proud of every one of our artists and their contribution to our legacy,” Bryan “Birdman” Williams told AllHipHop.com in a statement today (November 19).

“What’s most humbling is the global reaction to our story. Slim and I built this label from the ground up and seeing our brand connect with people across borders, culture and language makes us appreciate every one of our fans worldwide. We can’t wait to deliver another 500 million bangers,” Bryan Williams said.

In addition to releasing hit material by Jay Sean, Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne, who has more songs posted on the Billboard charts than Elvis, Cash Money Records has an impressive roster of artists.

Drake, Tyga, Shanelle, Busta Rhymes, Mystikal, Bow Wow, Cool & Dre, Kevin Rudloff, Fred Durst and Dj Khaled are among the artists currently signed to Cash Money Records.

“Success is something that Slim and I have always aimed for. It feels great to sell 500 million songs but fans should know, we aren’t going to stop now, and will continue our legacy,” Bryan Williams said.
