Hip-Hop Rumors: Frank Ocean Sneak Disses Rihanna And Chris Brown?

Now, that Frank Ocean may not be pressing charges, but it seems that guy has a way of being passive aggressive with his disses. See, there is this thing called Tumblr and it is a blog that’s sort of like Twitter. You can like blog posts or re-blog them. Well, Frank’s blog is popular and a lot of people follow it. So, people were a bit shocked to see that he had “liked” a picture of Rihanna after Chris Brown beat her up brutally. Nobody really knows if it is a fake or not, but right now they are taking it as real. I don’t know, but I could see dude harboring some angst against Breezy since he and RiRi have something in common. I don’t know. Peep the screen shot. More CB / RiRi Rumors below….

DAMN!

ILLSEEDS QUICKIES

Rumor has it, Deelishis actually jumped out of a window to avoid the rage of her drug dealing ex boyfriend. Reminds me of the rumors about Erick Sermon.

In 5 years, Rihanna says she wants to have a baby with Chris Brown.

Rihanna has added new security. No, it has nothing to do with Chris Brown and everything to do with her crazy fans, one of which attacked her recently.

Idris Elba has left the acting game for a bit to focus on his music.

A reason not to get that tat so fast per Iggy Azalea.

Murs and New Group “The White Mandingos” Announce New Concept Album

(AllHipHop News) West Coast veteran rapper Murs and his new group, The White Mandingos have announced the release of their debut full length album dubbed, The Ghetto is Tryna Kill Me.

The White Mandingos project also includes the work of Bad Brain founder Darryl Jenifer and Ego Trip co-creator Sacha Jenkins.

The album is a concept record that is told from the perspective of Tyrone White, a rock band frontman from Harlem’s Polo Grounds housing project.

Production from Jenifer and Jenkins on the project blurs the boundaries separating Hip-Hop, hardcore punk, metal, and R&B as the album confronts the issues of race and identity.

“I think a lot of folks will be able to relate to Tyrone and his struggles,” Jenkins says. “He feels misunderstood- by his women, his friends, his people. And that misunderstanding sometimes affects who he is and who he truly wants to be. Should he not be playing this music because he’s black? And who the hell is in the position to tell him what to do anyways?”

The Ghetto is Tryna Kill Me is set to be released on June 11th via Fat Beats.

Daily Word: Live Your Life Intentionally

TO HEAR THE AUDIO VERSION OF THE DAILY WORD **CLICK HERE

Happy Monday my warriors of light! Welcome to the day that you continue to do what has to be done in order to get what you deserve out of live! Today’s Daily Word is dedicated to living your life intentionally! Success or failure is never an accident! Success or failure is not by coincidence! Success or failure will never be about luck or about what cards you are dealt! Success or failure is about the actions you intentionally put out! Are you doing what needs to be done to be a success or a failure?  Your actions or lack there of will be the main thing that seals your fate! Who cares about what you’re about to do… You are either doing it or not! Someone who intends to be great isn’t really on that path unless they are DOING what it takes to get there! Imagine you intend to win a championship but never go to practice! Imagine you intend to take a flight out of the country and never buy a ticket! Or what if you intend to get a new job but never send out your resume! My point is that if you want success, stop intending to do it and simply go out and do what has to be done! Success is yours for the taking…. the only thing you need to do is make the decision that you are going to take it! Live Life Intentionally Because NOTHING can Stop YOU but YOU!!

EPIC WIN OF THE DAY: Baby Born With HIV…IS CURED!

WHAAAAAAAAA!!! This is crazy and apparently TRUE!

A 2-year old baby was born with HIV and was cured. Peep the report from ABC News.

A Mississippi baby born with HIV more than two years ago appears to be the first documented case of a child’s being cured of the virus, according to doctors and scientists.

The unidentified child has now been “functionally cured” and has been off medication for about a year with no signs of the HIV infection. If the child remains healthy, it would mark only the second time in the world’s history that a person has been cured of HIV, which is the virus that causes AIDS.

The landmark case was announced Sunday at the 2013 Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections in Atlanta.

Dr. Deborah Persaud of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore was one of the lead researchers and author of the report, which was released by The Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR).

The infant was diagnosed with HIV at birth to a mother who did not receive prenatal care or HIV treatment, Dr. Rowena Johnston, director of amfAR, told ABC News.

The infant was transferred to the University of Mississippi Medical Center and started on antiretroviral treatment about 30 hours after birth. Doctors took the apparently unusual step of prescribing three aggressive drugs (AZT, 3TC, nevirapine) at once after birth.

Johnston points to the early intervention of the three medications as the difference-maker.

“If one had to make an educational guess, the difference was receiving the treatment dose very soon after birth, earlier than standard of care in the U.S.,” Johnston said.

Initial HIV viral load tests were high and then expectedly decreased in the first month. Viral loads were detectable three times and became undetectable by one month of age.

The baby was on treatment and in care until 12 to 15 months of age, at which point the baby was lost to follow-up after doctors lost contact with the mother and the baby stopped receiving any medication. The baby returned for care at 23 months of age.

Surprisingly, viral loads were still undetectable, despite being off treatment for almost a year.
Johnston said the results were all the more shocking because doctors do not usually recommend stopping treatment at any time in children with HIV from birth.

The results surprised Dr. Hannah Gay, a pediatric HIV specialist at the University of Mississippi, who was treating the child.

“My first thought was to panic. I thought, ‘Oh my goodness, I have been treating a child who is not actually infected,'” she said.

A battery of “highly sensitive” tests confirmed the absence of HIV, according to a news release.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, with the National Institutes of Health, cautions that more studies are needed before calling the results a breakthrough.

“You have to be careful because this is just a single case and although the data looked pretty convincing that you got to be careful that this may not be broadly applicable to other situations,” Fauci told ABC News Radio.
In Mississippi, Gay gives the child a check-up every few months. “I just check for the virus and keep praying that it stays gone,” she told The Associated Press.

The mother’s HIV is being controlled with medication and she is “quite excited for her child,” Gay added.
The only other documented case of an HIV cure to date remains that of Timothy Brown, the so-called “Berlin patient.”

Hip-Hop Rumors: Guess Who Joined ASAP MOB?

YEAHHHHHHHHH!

You know Hip-Hop is coming full circle again. Once upon a time, Hip-Hop was “cool” to the masses and then it wasn’t so cool, because every damn body was on it. It was selling more but it wasn’t as cool. Get it? Now, that sales are down and dudes are hipper, people are on it. I caught a whiff of a rumor that ASAP Rocky just got a new member to his MOB. Well, he’s got a crew and they are all pretty popular. I admit, I cannot keep up with all the names. Anyway, I heard that they bonded with actor Shia LeBeouf and he’s in the crew…maybe.

Now, this all started last week at the Kendrick Lamar concert, where Shia was a guest in the house and A$AP performed. He reportedly talked with all the guys and was very cool, he and his girlfriend. Hey…he’d be a great asset to any team. Much cooler than the last Transformers movie! HA! just kidding.
Shout out to Shia…I hear he’s the real deal and down with the real Hip-Hop.

“Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” Theme Causes County Wide School Lockdown

(AllHipHop News) The theme song to legendary 1990’s sitcom “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” caused panic in a Western Pennsylvania town earlier this week.

All schools in Beaver County in Ambridge, Pennsylvania were locked down on Thursday (February 28), after a line from the sitcom’s theme song was mistaken as a threat.

The bizarre incident began when a receptionist for a local eye doctor’s office called a 19-year-old student’s phone.

Travis Clawson’s greeting featured him imitating the line from “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” theme that says “shooting some B-ball outside of school.”

The receptionist thought Clawson said “shooting people outside of the school.”

The receptionist called local police, who contacted administrators at Ambridge High School.

When Clawson could not be located, local police issued a countywide lockdown of all schools in the district.

Clawson was later found in the guidance a guidance counselor’s office in Ambridge High School.

Police “swarmed” Clawson and took him into custody. The teen said he meant no harm when he was imitating Will Smith.

Local District Attorney Anthony Berosh confirmed that Clawson was imitating the rap song, and was released without being charged.

Clawson was however, encouraged to change his message.

Hip-Hop Collective Rebel Diaz Gets “Unjustifiably Violent” Eviction and Raid from South Bronx Home

(AllHipHop News) Hip-Hop’s  birthplace continues to be altered, after a local community center is raided and evicted by surprise.

The Rebel Diaz Art’s Collective (RDACBX) of the South Bronx had their warehouse turned art space on 478 Austin Place reduced to scraps Thursday (February 28) after lease negotiations fell through.

New Rochelle real estate company Austin Property Corp allegedly attempted to stall those negotiations, after RDACBX’s lease expired.

According to DNAinfo, the landlord and RDACBX constantly clashed over unauthorized graffiti on the building and complaints from building tenants.

Allegedly, the collective protested a rent increase from $1,400 to $2,400 by refusing to pay the rent, even though they claim some payments were rejected. As a result, six months of back rent piled up and the landowner took action.

According to a press release from RDACBX,  a previous participant, 19-year-old Karen Louviere, claims the raid methods were unjustifably violent.

“They came in with armed guards officers into what is supposed to be a safe space for the community.” RDACBX’s co-founder RodStarz hinted at a more conspiratorial reason for the surprise eviction:

“In a time where budget cuts, stop and frisk, and gentrification are affecting our communities, it’s a shame we are being treated like criminals. There is no justification for this eviction.”

An emergency press conference/rally was scheduled yesterday at 6pm at the location of the fallen community center.

RDACBX were responsible for numerous events which promoted cultural awareness and promoted local artists. One of the events included  South by South Bronx, a flip on the popular music event South by South West (SxSW) and featured talks from Hip Hop pioneers such as Grandmaster Caz and rising stars such as Mysonne.

This eviction is being treated as an unfortunate holdup and not an insurmountable obstacle to achieve certain goals such as the planned creation of the Richie Perez Radical Library in dedication to the late Puerto Rican human rights activist.

“Despite the violent removal of RDACBX from its space, RDACBX will continue to work on its development, as it strives to be a resource for the community. There is a need for this organization to exist in The South Bronx,” says Claudia De La Cruz, a member of RDACBX

Check below to see RodStarz’s speech at the RDACBX rally:

Hip-Hop Rumors: Will They Cancel American Idol? And Guess Who They Will Blame?

Keeping it real, I have not watched American Idol one time this season. I used to watch it from beginning to end. Then, I’d watch just the trials and foolishness. But, this year….nada. I think I am part of the problem that the show is experiencing. Even though the added the busty Mariah (who reportedly had a freaking DOUBLE NIP SLIP recently) and the bootiyful Nicki Minaj (who treated us all to her thongy backside on V-Day) ratings for American Idol are at an all time American low. Why? This is the third week in a row that the ratings have gone down. IT has sparked rumors that the show may get nixed. Some also speculate that they may be blaming Nicki for the decline. Not sure the reasoning behind that, but somebody has to take the rap. Why not the rapper?

What they want Nicki to do, Playboy?
