On to the rumors!
What has happened? Chief Keef is something like a boss these days. Maybe there is too much that comes with it, because he has reportedly cancelled his entire tour just as he was to splash down in Philly! Now, I don’t fully know that every date was deaded, but the Philly one was for sure. And, after that, the rumors came.
It seems that Hip-Hop may be facing the same thing that they did in the 80s and early 90s. Back then, the insurance was very expensive for rappers considered dangerous or controversial. The recent events with Rick Ross and the GDz have suggested that his shows were cancelled for that very reason. AND, there are rumors that allege the promoter actually got paper from the insurance. Those are just rumors though. Don’t mind me.
Honestly, the reasons for the cancellation are not clear. I’ll keep you updated or maybe the news section will.

As we enter the last weekend before the Christmas holiday, stores will be crowded with shoppers picking up last minute gifts for loved ones. And because we know many of our favorite rap moguls are too busy plotting to take over the world to be out shopping, we decided to make a quick list for their personal assistants.
For all of our rich and famous mogul friends, here are some things you can buy each other, your loved ones, or maybe a little something for the staff of your favorite website, because we are all starving artists (except illseed…I think he’s secretly loaded).
Here are 5 Incredibly Expensive Christmas Gifts Only Rap Moguls Could Afford:
5) A Case of Perrier-Jouet champagne ($1,500)
Belle Epoque Rose’ is one of the finest champagnes in the world. With a beautiful clear glass bottle adorned with Japanese anemone flowers, that accent the pale pink color, this Rose’ is extraordinary with a price of around $1,500.00 for a case of 6. Pocket change.
4) A Walk-on Role in “Annie.” ($30,000)
Jay-Z brought Annie to the streets in ’98 with “Hard Knock Life (Ghetto Anthem)” from the Vol. 2…Hard Knock Life album, which made him a superstar. Now, for $30,000, Jigga or any other rich rap mogul can a purchase a walk-on role in the Broadway production of “Annie.” The gift has to be for a little girl, who could play one of the orphans, but in addition to her big debut, she will get six tickets to the play and dinner with the producers. The 30-stack price also means a contribution to the Pedigree Foundation and the Pajama Program, which help both orphaned dogs and children.
3) Cohiba Behike Cigars ($115,000)
A limited edition box of Black Dragon Especial Cohiba Behike cigars will set a mogul back a mere $115,000 – a small price to pay to smoke some of the finest cigars in the world. These cigars would be great for passing around the nursery when the next rap heir is born, or for rolling only the finest weed. However, they are used, these bad boys average out to $1,150 a piece.
2) Victoria’s Secret Fantasy Bra ($2,500,000)
With so many lovely ladies in a rap mogul’s life, we had to pick out a special gift just for wifey.
Every year, Victoria’s Secret teams up with an amazing jeweler to create the Fantasy Bra. This year’s bra has a floral design with over 5,000 precious stones including rubies, emeralds, and pink and yellow diamonds.
1) A Trip to Outer Space ($200,000)
Rap moguls have made millions of dollars through their artistry, careful investments, and shrewd business moves. Having conquered this lowly planet, isn’t it time for them to see what else the universe has in store? For a mere $200 racks, about the cost of an Audemars Piguet watch, a rap mogul can travel space in a private shuttle. This would be a great gift for rap fans, too, because we can all stand around laughing, “Look at this fool… going into space!”

KATT WILLIAMS VS JAMIE FOXX – THE COMEDIC BEEF IS BACK ON!
But, this isn’t really funny!
Katt Williams went IN! He may be half crazy and under the spell of Suge Knight, but some of the old Katt remains. He recently said that Jamie Foxx was gay and even named the dude he allegedly sleeps with. a Marcus Anthony. Apparently, that dude is a singer signed to Jamie. Anyway, Katt also came down on Mr. Foxx for being in Django. He said he was offered a role in it and turned it down. I find it pretty cool that some actors actually have the integrity to say no, for whatever reason. That’s no disrespect to those that did the movie. He also said that the script had “Any n***a that does this…deserves to DIE! The words “f**k you n***er” appear 176 times [in the script].” Anyway, peep what Katt said.
Jamie Foxx went in on Katt a few years ago.
Ironically, Katt was arrested last night for what he says was for being a “Black man on a Gay street.” The police say he was parked too close to a fire hydrant.
What do you think about actors in Django?

This just came across my desk! Santa Claus has been arrested! Jolly Ol’ St. Nick was down in Texas with the kids, seemingly just doing his thing. All of a sudden, a snitch or The Grinch told the laws in Austin that he was doing something sinister and illegal. What was Santa Claus doing to get arrested so close to Christmas? Seems like writing on the sidewalk in chalk is a deed worthy of arrest! They even did it down there in front of kids. One of the kids even said he wanted “Peace” for Christmas. So much for that! Peep it!
I love how Santa slipped in there that the cops aren’t on the nice list anymore. Here is a vid of a peaceful Santa moments before the arrest.
I guess Texas is a “police state” now.

(AllHipHop News) Nas has been sued by a New Jersey concert promoter, who spent 50 days in custody in Angola, after a botched hip-hop concert that was supposed to feature the rapper.
Patrick Allocco filed the lawsuit against Nas yesterday (December 21), in Manhattan Federal Court.
Nas was supposed to perform at two New Year’s Eve shows in the nation’s capital of Luanda, but allegedly attend an event for LeBron James in Miami.
Patrick Allocco and his son Patrick Jr. were allegedly “kidnapped” at gunpoint by Riquhino and his associates and were not allowed to leave Angola, in a scenario that played out like an episode of “Locked Up Abroad.”
After the State Department intervened, Nas forked over the $300,000 advance, as did Jemiah Jai.
In late February of 2012, Patrick Allocco and his son were finally released from Angola.
Bad blood has existed between Hip-Hop and the Grammys since the genre was included into its ceremonies in 1989. Ever since Fresh Prince (Will Smith), LL Cool J, and Salt n Pepa boycotted The Grammys, the Hip-Hop community has always kept the ceremonies at a “frenemy” distance due to its tendency to snub Hip-Hop artists from its general field categories. In hopes that this year’s nominees have a fair shot, these are the top Grammy-snubbing, Hip-Hop moments for those who didn’t:
1. 50 Cent loses Best New Artist to Evanesence in 2004:
You know a snub is bad when a relatively unknown Kanye West said you were robbed in a category that he wasn’t even nominated in at the time. There might never be a debut in music history like Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson had in 2003. After his milestone debut, Get Rich or Die Tryin, went 6x times platinum, his single “In Da Club” broke the most-listened to song in radio history billboard record in a week, and his G-Unit records launched the successful careers of his G-Unit soldiers, 50 thought it was pretty safe to assume that he had 2004’s Best New Artist reward in the bag. So when he walked off the stage with his head low after realizing the rock band Evanescense had won the award, it was pretty safe to say that the Grammys had taught 50 and the music world their own lessons on “How To Rob”.
2. Kanye West’s “Jesus Walks” loses Song of the Year to John Mayer’s “Daughters” in 2005:
It was a hit. It was a classic. And it was about Jesus. “Jesus Walks” wasn’t exactly Christian rap, but it seemed like it could have parted the Red Sea with the way it blessed airwaves and walked on top of charts in 2004. West’s reverse psychology of having people question why Jesus was such a taboo subject in mainstream Hip-Hop launched his career as musical artist who only needed to praise God to get G points. The Grammys committed an unforgivable sin when they gave John Mayer’s “Daughters” the Song of the Year award over “Jesus Walks”, but Mayer would make amends by working with Kanye on Common’s erotic track, “Go”. Now there’s some Common Ground.
3. Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” loses Record of the Year to Coldplay’s “Clocks” in 2004:
If you had one shot. Or one opportunity. To seize all the credibility you ever wanted. In one moment. Would you capture? Or just let it slip…like the Grammys did when they snubbed Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” for Coldplay’s “Clocks” in 2004? Slim Shady’s multi-syllabic ode to the MC’s struggle with failure, fame, and frustration proved to strike a chord with anyone who struggled to pursue a dream, since it broke the Guinness World Record for the longest run at number one for a rap song. Even the Oscars awarded Mr. Mathers for Best Original Song that year. Too bad the Grammys slept on Em like he slept while his name was being called to receive his Oscar.
4. Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter lll loses Album of the Year to Robert Plant and Alison Krause’s Raising Sand 2009:
Robert and Alison who??? Hate it or love it, there was not a more influential album than Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter lll in 2009. After selling “Amilli” in its first week, the album went on to become the best selling album of 2009, even after it leaked a week before it dropped. Sure, Wayne’s appeal to mainstream had him taking some unrewarding risk on “Lollipop” and “Get Money”, but putting out “Amilli”, a musically simple but ravenous word-play exercise, challenged even the most lyrically lazy rappers to try their best to “go in”.
5. The Fugees’ The Score loses Album of the Year to Celine Dion’s Falling Into You in 1997:
Creating a classic by covering another artist’s song is almost like trying to take credit for a project that your best friend, did but when you have a musical genius like Wyclef Jean and soulful lyricist like Lauryn Hill remaking your song, it is more like a privilege. Laced with laid-back lyrics about social issues that were uplifted by hopeful, Reggae undertones, The Score still remains as one of the most influential albums in any genre. Wyclef, Pras, and Lauryn definitely looked like refugees in a strange land at the 1997 Grammys, but Ms. Hill would return two years later to settle The Score with her masterpiece, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.
The plight of girls and young women – especially in the ‘hood – is a topic worth our attention. It’s also the plotline of a new semi-autobiographical, indie film entitled Yelling To The Sky, starring Zoe Kravitz, Gabourey Sidibe of Precious fame, and the incomparable Roots lyricist, Black Thought.
AllHipHop.com got the chance to chit chat with another cast member, the stunning Antonique Smith (a.k.a. Faith Evans from Notorious), who plays a protective sister to Zoe’s character in Yelling To The Sky. The East Orange, New Jersey native is kick-butt amazing in her latest project, and she discusses what it was like to work on fight scenes, her on-set relationships, and even a little musical secret, exclusive to AllHipHop.com:
AllHipHop.com: Wow, so the first question I have for you is about that powerful fight scene at the beginning of the movie! What did you have to do to prepare for beating on that boy so ferociously?!
Antonique Smith: (laughter) You know what? That was the only thing that was really practiced prior to filming it! After the table read, we moved some chairs around, and then they brought in a stunt guy for me, and I actually jumped off chairs that you really shouldn’t be jumping off of, and we got it in. I also practiced quite a bit on the punching and everything, too, but it was fun! I had to get the thing with the elbow down. But it was good! I enjoyed it!
AllHipHop.com: You’re an actress that is usually all dolled-up in movies, but on this set, they had you appearing super-minimalist pertaining to your look in this project. What was it like to be so casual and made under, you know, with very little makeup etc. on camera? You were still super pretty. Was it at all freeing?
Antonique Smith: Oh my gosh, every single thing about this set was so unglamorous (laughter). I mean, it was freezing cold on the set, and we had to look incredibly poor, so there was no glamour at all in our wardrobe or clothes, there was just no comfort, period. I’m talking a cold warehouse to work in, and no trailers or anything. So I think the look fit the mood definitely! (laughter) Even though Zoe’s character got her dream to come true, and she got to look cute, they just left my poor character behind. But it was also nice to an extent not to have all that stuff on. It was nice to be more relaxed for a change!
AllHipHop.com: How was it working with Zoe Kravitz? You two not only really seemed to have an actual bond on camera, but you also really looked like biological sisters. Even the baby looked authentic! (laughter)
Antonique Smith: Didn’t we? We actually really felt like sisters on set. She was great to work with, and the chemistry was there behind the scenes, too. The conditions were so cold that it was sort of a lot to do deal with. But we all just sort of hung in there and got closer. It sort of made the cast and crew bond, because we were all going through the same experience together. It really seemed like it showed on film.
AllHipHop.com: Agreed, you really did seem close as a cast. Now, tell me what was it about the role that made you say, “Yep that’s for me, I have to play this character”?
Antonique Smith: Wow, honestly I guess it was the way it was written, and the way she just was. She was written very cool, and it was very clear why she was the way she was. I loved digging in to the different layers of this character. As an actress, I like to dig into the layers. I really enjoy the challenge. Some people are so linear and simple, but Ola was such a complex character. She was so cool, I’m from East Orange and bubbly and silly and goofy! (laughter) I just really wanted to tackle a role that was really nothing like me at all, and she was just that. I just really thought she was cool!
AllHipHop.com: Yes, she was definitely a cool chick! Antonique, what message do you hope comes across to the viewers through their experience with this film? What do you hope they walk away with?
Antonique Smith: Ultimately, the way it ends says a lot about forgiveness and the ability to change, and I think those are the most important messages of the movie. All the characters go through a change and come out better for it in the end. I also think bullying is a very present message in the film. We have people out here hurting others and hurting themselves as a result of it. Some people are even taking their own lives because of it, so I think that is a very critical part of the movie’s message as well. It’s when the bullied actually becomes the bully. Also, just focusing on the idea that change is needed and possible. You can see it in the girls’ relationship with their dad especially. They just wanted to be loved like everyone does. It’s important for people to get that love and respect.
AllHipHop.com: Yes, well said! Alright, before you go, what’s this we hear about you having some music in the works?! Have you been holding out on us ma’am? (laughter)
Antonique Smith: (giggles) Yes, I do have music coming out soon! Music is how I express Antonique, it’s my passion, it’s who I am! As an actress, touching other people’s stories is what I do, but this music thing is actually me sharing me. There are no scripts or other people’s lives; these are my own stories that demonstrate who I am! I’m excited! I’ve been working with the producer Jukebox and Dr Dre, Toby Gad, and a dope production team from Iceland! It’s been amazing working with the best in the business!
I call my style Pop Soul with a Hip-Hop appeal, and I learned to sing from listening to Whitney Houston and singing in church. Whitney is a hometown hero of mine, because we are both from East Orange. I love Coldplay and Mary J, and my singing is really soulful. I can’t wait for everyone to hear it! Actually, if you go to my YouTube channel, you can hear a little bit of it, or if you visit my website, www.Antonique.com, you can keep up with the music and see when it drops in the first or second quarter of 2013! It’s so positive, and it’s truly something I feel is a gift that God blessed me with to give to the world.
Yelling To The Sky held a special NYC screening earlier this week, where it received rave reviews. Purchase a copy via Amazon and other online retailers.
Three-time Grammy Award-winner Ne-Yo is not only celebrating his platinum hit, “Let Me Love You (Until You Learn to Love Yourself)”, but he also wants to wish you a Merry Christmas!
Ne-Yo and his team, Compound Entertainment, put together a well-wishing video filled with smiles and introductions. The video asks “What does Christmas mean to you?” – Compound artists, including Adrienne Bailon, RaVaughn, Candice and Trevor Wesley, give their sentimental take.
(AllHipHop News) MMG and Philly artist Meek Mill is giving back to his local community after recently being informed that his alma mater is set for closure this year.
While Meek won’t be hitting the road, he is putting up $10,000 for his alma mater high school, Strawberry Mansion High School, in addition to giving the high school basketball team his sponsored Puma basketball shoes.
Meek’s move to donate to the local schools comes after Superintendent William R. Hite Jr. announced that the school district was looking to close over 37 schools in the Philadelphia area, forcing kids to commute further distances and learn in larger classrooms.
While Hite Jr. expects the move to make Philly schools more competitive, safer and better run, Meek thinks the move will be bad for his local community, including his own school Strawberry Mansion set for closure.
“They about to close down 37 schools in Philly…. They gone have kids from different hoods going 2 schools in different hoods # problems,” Meek Mill said via his Twitter account @MeekMill. “37 schools being closed in Philly ….gone be the worst thing 2 happen 2. Philly!”
In whole 44 schools will undergo changes as approximately a dozen of them with be faced with grade changes, affecting roughly 17,000 kids.
This year the school district was forced to borrow $300 million to operate and is expect to face 1.1 billion dollar deficit if it does not make changes according to the
