(AllHipHop News) XXL Magazine has issued an apology of a controversial advice video he recently released via the site.
Too $hort released a video with the magazine, which doled out advice to young boys one how to “turnout” young girls.
The rapper, who has been known to release sexually explicit songs throughout his career, offered the advice to teenaged boys.
“When you get to late middle school, early high school and you start feeling a certain way about the girls. I’m gonna tell you a couple tricks,” Too Short says in the video. “A lot of the boys are going to be running around trying to get kisses from the girls. We’re going way past that. I’m taking you to the hole.”
Then, in graphic detail, the rapper offers some steps that young boys should follow to win a girl’s heart.
“Take your finger and put a little spit on it and you stick your finger in her underwear and you rub it on there and watch what happens,” the rapper said.
The petition calls for the dismissal of XXL’s Editor-In-Chief, Vanessa Satten, for promoting the rape of young girls.
“The minds and bodies of black girls are continually under attack,” the petition reads. “Those in charge at XXL, particularly Vanessa Satten the magazine’s Editor-in-Chief, value the security of young black women so little that they chose to trade it for pageviews. Let them know that we will not sit and watch while they wage war.”
The video has since been removed from the XXL website and Too $hort and Vanessa Satten has apologized for the offensive video.
“I want to apologize to anyone I may have offended with the XXL video interview I recently did,” $hort stated. “When I got on camera I was in Too $hort mode and had a lapse of judgement.I would never advise a child or young man to do these things, it’s not how I get down. Although I have made my career on dirty raps, I have worked over the years to somewhat balance the content of my music with giving back to the community. Just coming from a man who wants to see young people get ahead in life, I’m gonna do my best to to help and not hurt. If you’re a young man or a kid who looks up to me, don’t get caught up in the pimp, player, gangster hip-hop personas. Just be yourself.”
Vanessa Satten, XXL’s Editor-in-Chief, also apologized for the video’s release.
“There has been some recent controversy surrounding a video interview with Too $hort that posted on XXLMag.com last week,” XXL Editor-in-Chief Vanessa Satten said in a statement posted on the magazine’s website.
“Many readers found the tone and content of the interview to be offensive and were angered that it was allowed to post on the website,” Satten said. “I agree with their perspective. I do not see all content before it goes live. When I saw this video, I was truly offended and thought it crossed the line. I had it taken down immediately. I am disappointed that an employee decided to post it and I am putting internal procedures in place to make sure content like this does not go on the site. The video goes against my value system and represents poor judgment on behalf of the individual who posted it.”
XXL Magazine said they were making internal changes to ensure that content that is so offensive does not make it to publication.
Recently, I was asked to discuss my ideal Valentine’s Day. Surprised by my very own response, I have come to realize the power and strength behind some inspirational advice distilled from P.S. I Love Me, Lil’ Mo’s latest album.
The perfect way to celebrate? 24 hours spent “LOVING” myself, of course! [*grins*] Although we spend a great deal of time pursuing – or fostering – life’s unpredictable love affairs, the equivalent amount of time, money, and energy is rarely directed to the person we should love the most: ourselves. Many religions ask that we, as humans, love each other AS we would love ourselves. But in the midst of all this loving, how often do we boomerang these sentiments in acts of self-love?
Do not be fooled into believing that the affirmation of self equates to narcissistic thinking. (Several years ago, Katt Williams preached quite humorously: “Take care of your star player!” And more recently, with the release of “Cold War,” Janelle Monae sounded a prophetic clarion call: “Do you know what you’re fighting for?”)
On this upcoming Valentine’s Day – and every single day hereafter – be sure to start/end your day the way it should: “press pause” and allow peaceful stillness to clear your mind of all stress, then assertively whisper to your spirit: “P.S. I Love You”!
[SIDENOTE, for those readers who prefer dramatic effect: complete this task in front of a mirror daily – with your best primal yell – followed by an indiscreet “Im-sexy-and-I-know-it” wink! And for the decisively mature, or purposely immature, a DISCLAIMER: Katt Williams like to cuss – a lot!]
For all the “Johnny-come-latelies,” hop on board the J-Monae train!
Did I mention that President Obama is proud member of #TeamMonae? (LOL!)

The A$AP Mob has been touring across the country on a pretty heavy promo run to gain exposure for lead artist A$AP Rocky and other members such as A$AP Ferg & A$AP Twelvy. A lot of things come to mind when you think of a rap concert, but I’m sure none of it compares to what takes place at an A$AP Rocky show. Try to imagine a Hip-Hop grunge fest like “Limp Bizkit meets Three 6 Mafia.” And here in North Carolina, I was all in.
A$AP Rocky has a cult-like following, and even though he’s not quite considered mainstream yet, women were literally throwing their panties onstage in hopes of snagging one of the floating hotel room keys promised by the leader of the A$AP Mob. The crowd went wild with each word A$AP Rocky spit from his latest mixtape, LiveLoveA$AP. Fans became so excited that they burst through the caged fences set up by security and rushed the stage. The A$AP Mob welcomed the chaotic audience, and the club turned into an oasis of crazy, die-hard fanatics.
The people were running in every direction, but all appeared to be having the time of their lives. I’ve seen many superstar acts, from Jay-Z and Ye, to Weezy, but I have never scene fans so excited that they began licking each other! Many people in the crowd were even dressed to mimic the look of the A$AP Mob’s videos. Wow.
A$AP Rocky is one of the best performers I’ve seen in years. It’s no wonder other legend-in-the-making acts like Drake have co-signed him. He is high-spirited and loves to demonstrate such by…crowd-surfing! If this tour should come through your neck of the woods, you have to check it out for yourself because, as they say, “Seeing is believing.”
(AllHipHop News) Model/radio personality Claudia Jordan was attacked by a woman at Drake’s Grammy after party over the weekend.
TMZ.com reports that Claudia Jordan was involved in the altercation at Greystone Manor in Los Angeles.
Jordan, who also used to host the Foxxhole Radio Show with Jamie Foxx, said that the woman who attacked her was involved with her ex–husband Datari Turner.
Claudia Jordan said she was at the party minding her business, when the woman assaulted her and punched her in the head for no reason.
According to Jordan, the unnamed woman recent broke up with Jordan’s ex-husband and reportedly blamed her for their relationship woes.
Claudia Jordan filed a police report with the Los Angeles Police Department.
OK, so we know that not everyone digs the whole flowers and candy aspect to Valentine’s Day, but if you’re the type that likes to turn on the romance factor on February 14, then this list is for you!
AllHipHop.com came up with a little somethin’ somethin’ to help you set it off! So, whether you have New Love, Old Love, Secret Love, I Truly Can Not Stand You Another Single Day So I’m Leaving You Love, or I Love You And Nobody Knows It But Me Love, check it out and get some ideas for your Valentine’s Day playlists for Tuesday night!!!! (AllHipHop News)A rapper that was in a group with Waka Flocka Flame and Uncle Murda has been hit with three different murder charges.
Ronald “Ra Diggs” Herron was a part of the “Murda Team” rap group with the aforementioned artists, but federal prosecutors claim he was also the leader of faction of The Bloods street gang.
Ra Diggs was originally indicted and arrested outside of Club Amnesia in October of 2010, for his role in the Brooklyn drug gang.
Police began an undercover investigation in 2008 and made over 65 drug buys from in the Gowanus Houses.
Investigators originally linked Ra Diggs and his gang to four murders in the housing project, but officially charged the rapper with three counts.
Federal authorities Ra Diggs was originally charged with a murder in 2002, but he beat the case, because witnesses refused to testify against him.
According to the New York Daily News, Ra Diggs’ tweets ended up being used as evidence against him, resulting in the three murder charges.
In addition to the 2001 murder, Ra Diggs is charged with participating in a murder in 2008 and another in 2009.
The rapper could face the death penalty if he is convicted of the murders.
In addition to his role as a member of the rap group The Murda Team, Ra Diggs was featured on the track “By The Gun,” which was on Waka Flocka’s album Flockaveli.
Red Bull Music Academy held a special concert in New York City a few days ago featuring the Duck Down Records family, along with a panel discussion with label founder Dru Ha and rappers Buckshot and Skyzoo.
Duck Down’s head honcho and his partners spoke on the label’s creation, and shared some funny and crazy stories about their ties with Tupac Shakur right before his tragic murder. (LIKE…Mama Shakur started labeling his soda with a “Do not drink Pac’s soda” sign after the ravenous Duck Down gang nearly ate and drank them out of house and home!!!)
After the lively Red Bull chat, fans got it in with questions – one of which was about the possibility of all of those good stories being turned into a movie based on the history of Duck Down.
Without hesitation, the ever-eager Buckshot answered:
“You know what, real soon. Hopefully. It’s like Dru [Ha] said with the music, although we want to do things and we see it happening tomorrow, it does have to be organic and it has to be real. A lot of times we get scripts and we get movie opportunities but it just might not necessarily be stuff that fits Duck Down at the time. We’re not just going to do no fake sh*t just so we can be in a movie. We’re going to wait for the right opportunity.”
“It would be a good movie. We’ve got it in our minds,” Dru Ha added.
Would you want to see a Duck Down movie? Can’t you just see Sean Price playing himself as no one else could?? Sound off !

An action figure based on the character Blind Master that rapper, producer, and actor RZA is portraying in this summer’s G.I. Joe Retaliation, has been revealed at the 109th Annual American International Toy Fair.
Hasbro, who is creating the upcoming toy line for the film release on June 29, displayed figures for a number of the film’s characters, such as Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s Roadblock, Channing Tatum’s Duke, Bruce Willis’ Joe Colton, and RZA’s Blind Master.
The 3.75-inch action figures, which will be released this summer along with others based on the film, are sculpted to match their on-screen counterparts and will be priced at $7.99.
G.I. Joe is the brand that practically invented action figures back in 1964 when the company, along with toy producer Hasbro, released the original 12-inch line based on the different branches of the U.S Armed Forces.
RZA’s Blind Master character is a martial arts sensei and part of the Arashikage ninja clan that also includes other popular G.I. Joe characters Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow.
The 2012 Toy Fair, which attracts over 1,000 annual, worldwide exhibitors showcasing their upcoming product lines, is currently taking place at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.

During an interview with Fuse last night on the Grammys red carpet, Common spoke on the highly publicized “beef” he had with Drake. Well, it’s all over now, according to the Chicago MC.
Before presenting the award for Best R&B Album with actress Taraji P. Henson to Chris Brown, Common told Fuse correspondent and journalist Toure about the status of the “beef.”
The talk starts at the :30-sec. mark in the video below:
(AllHipHop News) The President of the Catholic League has issued a statement denouncing Nicki Minaj’s performance at the 54th annual Grammy Awards last night (February 12).
Catholic League President Bill Donohue was offended by the religious overtones in the performance, which included a mock exorcism, a confessional skit, choirboys and monks dancing.
“Nicki Minaj, fresh off looking like a fool with Madonna at the Super Bowl, showed up last night on the red carpet at the Grammys with a guy dressed like the pope,” Bill Donahue snapped. “This was just a prelude of what was to come.”
During the performance, the song “Come All Ye Faithful” was sung, as a fake Bishop walked on the stage.
Nicki Minaj then apparently became possessed during the skit, which Bill Donohue labeled irresponsible.
“Whether Minaj is possessed is surely an open question, but what is not in doubt is the irresponsibility of The Recording Academy,” Bill Donahue said. “Never would they allow an artist to insult Judaism or Islam.”
“Roman Zolanski” is Nicki Minaj’s alter ego, who is reportedly a gay male, apparently inspired in part by gay filmmaker Roman Polanski.
Roman Polanski himself was a lightning rod for controversy, after he was arrested and charged with the abuse of a 13-year-old girl in 1977.
To avoid sentencing, he fled to France.
In 2009, Polanski went to Switzerland to accept an award, where he was arrested at the request of U.S. authorities.
He was in custody for almost two months, but he was released from custody in July of 2010 after the Swiss refused to extradite him.
Charges against him remain pending in the United States.
As for Nicki, she was performing “Roman Holiday,” the first single from her upcoming album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.
According to Bill Donohue, Catholics are already facing a hostile administration in Washington, D.C., due to President Obama’s new contraception proposal.
“It’s bad enough that Catholics have to fight for their rights vis-à-vis a hostile administration in Washington without also having to fend off attacks in the entertainment industry,” Bill Donahue continued. “The net effect, however, will only embolden Catholics, as well as their friends in other faith communities.”
(AllHipHop News) Just days after Rick Ross hailed him “the West Coast’s finest” on MTV, Los Angeles native Dom Kennedy has announced dates and cities for his upcoming “This Is Dom Kennedy Tour.”
Kennedy, who is currently working on the follow-up to last year’s album, From The Westside With Love II, will embark on the 23-date tour beginning on March 21 in Houston, Texas, and ending on April 21 in Tempe, Arizona.
Dom also responded to recent rumors that he signed to Ross’ Maybach Music Group imprint while speaking to XXL:
“Me and my relationship with Ross I would say is more like a younger homie older homie type of thing. He’s one of those people, you’ll find in rap music when you’re coming up certain people will help you for the benefit of themselves and there are other people who will genuinely help you to just keep the rap game alive. They’ll give you info that other people might even charge you for. He’s just one of the people that has reached out to me to work, to give me advice, to let me see his grind.”
