(AllHipHop News) This morning (June 20), Houston rapper and Grand Hustle signed artist, Trae the Truth, was wounded in a shooting at a strip club on the southwest side of Houston.
According to reports from the Houston Police Department, the shooting occurred around 3:30a.m. at 9850 Westpark near Tanglewilde.
Police said two men and a woman died at the scene, as a crowd gathered in the parking lot.
Trae the Truth is currently hospitalized and recovering from the incident.
Witnesses say the shooting occurred after the “Trae Concert After Party” at nearby Club Blue.
Hours after the shooting, police said the specifics of the shooting are still unclear, despite going through evidence for several hours.
According to the Houston Chronicle, as of the time of print, there were no suspects or clear motives for the shooting, but investigators think the shooting could be connected to a domestic dispute that occurred on Father’s Day.
While they maintain that suspicion, details of how that dispute is related to the shooting are still being confirmed.

If the only prayer you ever say in your whole life is “thank you,” that would suffice! This is because everything you need and will ever need in this life has already been given to you! Understanding this truth will free you from the mental slavery of always being in a position of need! Those who are always seeking don’t spend enough time appreciating what they already have, and in turn, miss out on the many other blessings that have already been set aside.
The universe is abundant and will always give you what you need! The key to getting what you want is appreciating what you already have, and making proper use of it! No longer is it alright to be scarce in your thinking!! Believe and understand that anything you want in life is already yours!! Claim it and Give thanks for it! The only thing that can stop you is you!

Ever since Ma$e tweeted that he “just got a G.O.O.D offer,” rumors have been swirling that Kanye West was looking to sign him to his growing roster. News broke yesterday that G.O.O.D Music will be performing at the 2012 BET Awards, and an exclusive source has told us that Ma$e may be performing with the G.O.O.D Music crew on stage.
Ma$e has been in talks with Kanye West about jumping on the “Mercy” remix and performing it at the award show. But just because Ma$e may come out with the crew doesn’t mean he’s signed yet.
“Kanye wants to see how the people respond to seeing Ma$e perform again” said our source. “His fate with G.O.O.D Music depends on how hot his verse is on the “Mercy” remix as well as how he performs on stage.”
After seeing Ma$e perform at HOT 97’s Summer Jam, there’s no doubt that he still has the crowd on his side – so it all depends on whether or not he delivers a hot 16 on the “Mercy” Remix or not.
But if it doesn’t work out, there’s always MMG right?
This is just terrible for Hip-Hop. This can’t be life…right?! This HAS to be a joke! “Throw That D*ck”?! Weezy must be back on that sizzurp, because he recently debuted a dance that’s so suspect, it’s down right shameful. Check out Weezy utterly embarrassing himself on stage, while instructed the crowd to “throw that d*ck.”
I have no words right now. All I can say is PAUSE!!!
(AllHipHop News) Flavor Flav has avoided a jail term after the rap and reality TV star paid enough of his overdue child support payments to satisfy a judge.
The rap star was looking to serve 180 days behind bars after he owed his children’s mother $111,186. Earlier today, Flavor Flav appeared in Albany County Family Court and paid a lump sum that deferred his bid, according to TMZ.
The amount of the payment was not disclosed at press time.
A court clerk told TMZ that the Public Enemy hype man “took care” of his child support obligations with the mother of his three kids, Angie Parker.
Flavor Flav is due for another date in court this upcoming September to ensure he has continued to pay as scheduled.
With his new album, King Noah, Baltimore MC Wordsmith has set out to erase any resemblance of an average Rap album with his boom-bap beats meeting acoustic, alternative, and pop instrumentation. It’s an interesting gamble to take on your second solo release, but Wordsmith is all about gambling and taking chances on what he enthusiastically calls “blue collar music.”
Maryland’s “thinking man’s MC” crafted his new album with the hope that it will one day serve as a yearbook of sorts for his friends, family, and fans to look back on years from now. But most importantly, King Noah is dedicated to Smith’s son, Kingston Noah Parker, and will forever be a celebration of their relationship and his own struggles to become the father he was always destined to be.
AllHipHop.com spoke to Wordsmith before the album’s release about his “blue collar music,” the makings of a “thinking man’s MC,” why King Noah’s time is now, and much more. Check out our exclusive interview with Wordsmith below:

If any of you watched the “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” premier last night, you know the show was crazy!!! So much foolishness going on that it’s hard to keep up. Well, one of the main storylines for the show was the domestic violence abuse accounts from cast member, singer K. Michelle. K.Michelle didn’t name her abuser’s name, but dropped enough hints that the Twitterverse was buzzing that her alleged abuser was Mickey “Memphitz” Wright.
For those that don’t know, Memphitz is a music executive at Jive records and is also married to Lil’ Wayne’s ex-wife, Toya. He was also one of the hosts for BET’s show “The Deal” along with Nicki Minaj’s DJ, Diamond Kutz. On the show, K. Michelle detailed how she was in a violent relationship with the man who signed her to a record deal at Jive and how he “beat her *ss.”
K. Michelle said he “blacked out” on her with physical abuse during their romantic relationship, but also blew through her entire recording budget to lavish himself with pricey toys and chains.
Damn, did Weezy’s ex-wife marry a woman beater? Not according to Toya! The reality TV star, who is currently in Paris with Memphitz celebrating their one-year anniversary of marriage, re-tweeted a tweet that speaks to the contrary, and basically calls K. Michelle a “hater.” Check it out below:
“@MeMpHiTz & @ToyaWright been married a whole year now all of a sudden ppl accusing him of being abusive??#HATERSINDABUILDIN”
If you didn’t get a chance to watch the show, it was highly entertaining, and I recommend catching the premier episode. You can watch it here or peep it below.

(AllHipHop News) At the end of May, AllHipHop.com announced that it would be teaming up with Grammy Award-nominated rap group, Nappy Roots, to release their upcoming mixtape, Sh!t’s Beautiful, on June 27.
“We wanted to make a project that’s able to promote our upcoming releases, as well as introduce the world to the individuals who make up the collective known as Nappy Roots,” member Skinny Deville told AllHipHop.com. “We try to make the best music possible and hit as many cities as we can and without the fans support none of that would be possible.”
Because of the overwhelming support they’ve received over the year from fans, the Nappy Roots have decided to let the new project go for free. Said Skinny, “We decided to make it a free release because it’s hard times we all are going thru and we don’t want anybody to illegally download it like our past few releases. So we said f*ck it.”
Skinny continued, “We make most of our money off touring so we can afford to make that move. Plus as we tour the country doing what we love to do we noticed the s### was beautiful. So why not call it Sh!t’s Beautiful and make it free for everybody who knows, follows, and supports the entire Nappy Roots Movement.”
“We put just as much energy and effort into this project as we do with every NR release,” he said. “So the fans who follow and keep up with NR won’t be disappointed. As we all grow as individuals and a collective our music must represent that same sentiment and this is the proof that we unapologetically won’t stop making timeless records.”
The “Sh!t’s Beautful Tour” will resume tomorrow night in Billings, Montana before the group hosts their mixtape release party at Mood Lounge in Atlanta, Georgia on June 26. The tour will then hit cities like Pensacola, St. Louis, Birmingham, and Orlando before coming to a close on July 26 in Vero Beach, Florida.
Tickets for the “Sh!t’s Beautiful Tour” can be purchased at NappyRoots.com.
Check out a new promo video for Sh!t’s Beautiful below:
French Montana has been on a major come-up in the last year and has collaborated with the top echelon of Hip-Hop – including his label head Diddy, Rick Ross, Drake, and Lil’ Wayne. His rise to success has many people joking around about whether or not he joined the infamous “Illuminati.”
In a recent interview with Jenny Boom Boom, French decided to fan the flames on this rumor. Check out what he said below as well as the audio from the interview:
“If there was an Illuminati, I would have been joined it,” said French Montana. “I’m still waiting, come knock on my door.”
French Montana is one real dude! I like his style! So we all know French Montana was joking about being “initiated” into the Illuminati, but do you think there really is such a thing? And if so, would rappers even be considered as members?
Bad Boy’s resident “wild boy,” MGK, has recently confessed in an interview with HOT 97’s Peter Rosenberg that he was on the verge of getting dropped by Bad Boy Records AND his management, because of his “bad attitude.” Check out what he said below.
“I was going to get shelved by the label and my management was going to leave because I have the worst attitude in the world.”
The rapper also revealed that he has been on a “three week and four day [streak] of sobriety of anger” because of all of his recent trouble with losing his temper, and says that his team recently got him security, not to keep him safe, but to keep him from hurting other people. Sheesh!
MGK was in a sharing mood, because he also shared that he almost got kicked off of the Tech N9ne tour as well and has five lawsuits filed against him for fighting! Machine Gun Kelly was also recently banned from NYC’s Highline Ballroom for allegedly attacking a bouncer with a bottle back in January, or as he put it, “I’ve been wrongfully stereotyped because of a b####### story.”
Damn, dude, get your stuff together! Check out the full interview below. The “anger management” talk starts at the 12:07 mark:
Did he really say Motley Crew would be f*cking a girl in the lobby while she sniffed cocaine off his penis?! Wow, MGK is really a “wild boy!”
I don’t know how much this is going to be of interest to you peoples out there, but this is what I am hearing. I am hearing that there is a G-Dep documentary on the way and it will highlight the rapper’s career right up until it was derailed, by a stunning confession of murder. Well, he didn’t actually confess to murder, he confessed to a shooting. At any rate, it is my understanding that he was doing work in the studio and getting ready to come back out then he was taken on a new path. All of that recording and studio work was documented and the cats that did it are reportedly going to put it out as a documentary. I personally think they should hold off and expand that doc to include some goodies about where Dep is now behind those walls. That’s what I want to see, as well as the general public I assume.
Lil Wayne did the right thing and ended his clashing of ways with Pusha T! I’m glad they ended that because Pusha was getting with him crazy. Anyway, its over and Lil Wayne confirmed what I already knew. Click here to read my piece, which is more on the Pusha T side of it. But, seriously, it was a mutual thing from what I heard. Weezy talked to The Associated Press on it.
AP: What’s next musically? And what happened in the beef between you and Pusha T?
Lil Wayne: I just finished recording my “I Am Not a Human Being II” album. And we’re starting to work on the Young Money album. … It really wasn’t no beef, you know. It was just me. I just reacted. Just a reaction, a simple reaction. I don’t apologize for it because I’m human. But it was just my human reaction. I don’t take it back. But there’s no beef. Beef is a whole different thing. … I’ll move on.
Lil’ Wayne wants to make peace with Pusha T and “move on” from their back and forth lyrical battle. Check out what he told the AP below:
“I just finished recording my “I Am Not a Human Being II” album. … I’ll move on.”
Is Wayne backing down from Pusha-T because his sub-par diss, “Ghoulish,” was no match for Pusha’s clever word play in “Exodus 23:1”? What are your thoughts on Weezy ending his beef with Pusha-T?
Many big names in the urban entertainment arena have found it imperative to push voting initiatives among the young people and young adults – especially in this all-important election year.
Recently, coutureluv.com, a new online store, joined forces with Angela and Vanessa Simmons to get people geared up to vote! Couture Luv provided fashion filled goodie bags with reminders on the importance of people making their voices heard and felt. The event was held at Club 50 at Viceroy Miami – Brickell with about 100 attendees, including a vast variety of socialites.
The Simmons sister will continue their 50-city tour, and Couture Luv plans to do other events and initiatives to spread awareness, including a Fourth Of July sale with a portion of the proceeds going to the Obama campaign.
Coutureluv.com’s owner, Ashley Williams, shares her sentiments on the event and their efforts here, “I believe that voting is extremely important, and I am glad to have been a part of this event. It was a pleasure to partner along with two other influential women who share this common idea, such as the Simmons sisters. This was a great moment for me and my company.”
According to Pew Research For The People & The Press, in the last three general elections, 2004, 2006, and 2008, young people have given the Democratic Party a majority of their votes. This age group is also the most supportive in the polls and in the aftermath of elections.
Hopefully, in 2012 and beyond – with the help of celebs like the Simmons Sisters – young adults will use the power of their voices, one vote at a time.
