Argument In Club Preceded Young Buck Shooting

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Young Buck and his girlfriend were involved in an altercation just moments before a shooting that riddled the rap star’s SUV.

Young Buck, born David Brown, was inside of club La Bamba in South Nashville early Sunday morning, when he and his girlfriend were involved in a heated exchange with another group of people.

Security intervened in the matter and Young Buck and his girlfriend Kenyetta Rainey left the club, along with the party they originally argued with.

Moments later, a white Chevy Tahoe pulled up alongside Young Buck’s Cadillac Escalade and fired upon the vehicle.

The Cadillac Escalade was struck 11 times, and Young Buck’s girlfriend was grazed in the shoulder.

Rainey was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries and released.

Police are still seeking suspects in the shooting, which occurred hours after Young Buck hosted a video shoot and cookout.

Ice Cube Gives Update On “Last Friday”; Talks Future Directorial Projects

(AllHipHop News) Back in November, rumors stated that Ice Cube would be writing, producing, and possibly directing the final installment in the Friday franchise, tentatively titled Last Friday, and that the first film’s co-star, Chis Tucker, would be returning.

In an interview with Collider, Ice Cube, who is doing press rounds for his role in the upcoming comedy 21 Jump Street, offered a significant update on the highly-anticpiated sequel, including the revelation that he has already begun writing the film.

“There’s a lot of movement. I’m writing the script right now, so we worked out a deal with New Line. The ball is rolling. We invited everybody back and we’ll have a fun movie.”

When asked if Chris Tucker, who famously portrayed the character Smokey in the first Friday almost 15 years ago, would be returning, Cube responded with “I hope so.”

Tucker, who has not starred in a film since Rush Hour 3, is currently filming David O. Russell’s The Silver Lining’s Playbook, marking his first return to the silver screen since 2007. The film is set for theatrical release this November and also stars Robert DeNiro and Bradley Cooper.

Having directed the ESPN 30 For 30 documentary “Straight Outta L.A.” last year, it was only natural for Collider to ask Cube if he had plans for any future directorial projects outside of Last Friday. “Yeah it’s always in the works,” he answered. “I gotta find pet projects, things that I’m really into. If not, I’ll just produce. If I find something that I just know I have to do, then I’ll direct.”

Ice Cube can next be seen in the comedy 21 Jump Street which hits theaters on March 21.

Examining the Nation of Islam Through a Hip-Hop Lens: For The Youth

Islam and the sects that follow its tenets are shrouded in mystery. Still, in Hip-Hop, the ways of the religion collide with lyrics and lifestyles to help establish part of the culture’s foundation. AllHipHop.com wanted to know more, and ever the jet setters, we traveled in late February to Rosemont, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, for Saviours’ Day, a weekend-long, annual observance of the birth of Nation of Islam founder, Master W. Fard Muhammad.

As part of the trip, AllHipHop.com would show off its warm working relationship with the Nation of Islam by co-hosting a youth town hall discussion entitled “Our Generation Accepting Responsibility,” focused on young people taking ownership of their lives and futures. Though the panel, moderated in part by AllHipHop.com CEO Grouchy Greg Watkins, was missing a few key people, the ones who were there showed and proved that Muslims “got it goin’ on” in music, business, and the community.

There was co-host and rapper Yonasda Lonewolf, singer Raheem DeVaughn, Wu-Tang CEO and RZA’s brother Divine, conscious rappers Cormega and Jasiri X, Rev. Yearwood of the Hip Hop Caucus, MC and businessman JT The Bigga Figga, and more. Even RZA Skyped in from his film studio to share some wisdom with the youth and tell why he aligns with the Nation of Islam, particularly with regards to their business discipline. Watch the video clips below for a peek at some of the event’s standout participants:

JT The Bigga Figga has been missing from the recording game for a while until now. What we found out at the town hall discussion is that he’s found an innovative way to make money off of music he recorded years ago. In the clip below, he drops the craziest, most helpful knowledge ever for young hopefuls in the music industry:

Rapper Jasiri X holds it down for the conscious brothers, bringing his strong Pittsburgh work ethic to his rap hustle. But, what he may be best known for is his willingness to shine light on the ills of society and especially some of his peers in the industry. Here, he tells why Saviours’ Day was high on his list of to-do items:

The ladies love Hip-Hop, too, and AllHipHop.com was privileged to meet one who is a vocal and vivacious representative for the culture she adores. Activist Lah Tere talked to us behind the scenes of the discussion about her unique brand of Hip-Hop elevation in New York City:

One of the panel discussion’s best lessons was that everyday people can do monumental things when they combine passion and innovation. We learned that Brother Enoch of the Hip-Hop Detox organization is one of the true stars in our community, as he explains how he uses Hip-Hop themes to steer youth in the right direction:

There’s more coverage to come from AllHipHop.com’s visit inside the Nation of Islam’s Saviours’ Day. Check back in the coming days for the next “Examining the Nation of Islam Through Hip-Hop Eyes” feature! Visit www.noi.org for more information.

B-Real was joined by the freestyling phenom MC Supernatural and Daddy X of The Kottonmouth Kings for this event, held just a day before The Cypress Hill SmokeOut concert in San Bernardino, California. Daily Word: Mo’ Money Mo’ Problems…. No Money, Bigger Problem!!

The Notorious B.I.G. once said, “Mo’ money, Mo’ problems,” and for most of us, we wouldn’t mind having more money, no matter what problems come with it! Some of us can’t even grasp this concept, because in our minds, we think the opposite – that money can solve anything! We need to realize that money has never been and never will be the solution.

Caution to those who want more money and are not mentally ready for the responsibility that comes with it! This is the exact reason why you see millionaires go bankrupt and lottery winners losing it all within years! The more money you have, the greater the probability of you creating a financial disaster, if you are not properly trained to maintain your finances. People who make more money and have no financial discipline are more prone to losing it all because they have more at stake. They make more money, they buy bigger houses, buy more expensive cars, create more expenses, and now need to be able to sustain that lifestyle.

The solution to the problem is to Budget your Expenses! Whether you have a lot of money, a lil’ money, or no money at all, learning how to budget your expenses will alleviate ever having to worry about how you are going to maintain the necessities. Budgeting your expenses is about creating a road map for your life. It’s about planning and strategizing and knowing how you are going to get to your financial destination. It’s about not relying on chance, hope, or fate to guide you through your finances.

Those who fail to plan, plan to fail, so you must create a budget that you can adhere to and follow religiously. Your budget must be listed first in the order of necessity, then want. After you complete your budget, if you notice that you are paying out more money than you actually receive, you must begin to remove some of the things on your list beginning with the want column. Your budget also must include money for savings and for entertainment. Savings and Entertainment are vital components of a budget that will help keep your sanity! Work Hard! Play Hard! But do it within reason.

Before you begin the process of creating a budget, there are a few things you must take into consideration. First, creating a budget is not a punishment. It is not meant to be difficult, and it is not meant to complicate things. It is meant to free you of stress and give you balance and the freedom to do whatever you want, whenever you want to do it (within your means). Do not fool yourself! In order for your budget to really work, you must make sure your budget contains realistic goals that you can keep. If you love to go out drinking with friends, and under entertainment you have $0, you are only fooling yourself. Maybe cut out the cable bill, since you’re really never home and put that money towards entertainment. The key is to be realistic.

The following are the steps that you need to take in order to create a successful budget:

Get it together: The first step in creating a budget is to get all of your documents together. This should include all financial statements, investments, pay stubs, dividends, annuities, child support, alimony, everything! Anything you pay out every month, and everything you get in – if you have a statement, put it together. This will help you get organized in order to create the budget accurately.

Show me what you got: whether you’re using the manual or electronic version of a budget, you must write down all the sources of income that you receive.

Give it to me: Write down all of your expenses in the expense column, recording everything that has to be paid each month. First and foremost, you’ll record your “pay yourself first” money. Then your mortgage/rent payment, car payment/transportation cost, any insurance payments, food, utilities, entertainment, dry cleaning/laundry, and everything else you spend money on each month.

Break it down: First, break down your expenses into two categories; fixed and variable. Fixed expenses are expenses that don’t change from month-to-month. Variable expenses are expenses that can vary depending on usage (make sure that you monitor your variable expenses so that they don’t go over a certain amount each month).

Add it up: Total up all of your income and expenses, making sure that expenses aren’t greater than income. If income is greater than expenses, congratulations, you have more money to save. If expenses are greater than income, then you must make adjustments to your expenses; first try to minimize or limit things that are not a necessity (never adjust your “pay yourself first” money).

Check yourself: It is imperative that you review your budget monthly, and make all the necessary adjustments as your life changes. It is irresponsible to think that your expenses are just going to remain the same from month-to-month.

All in all saving for the future and having good credit are both important if you are looking to become a more responsible adult. The more you take care of your responsibilities, and the more you don’t have to worry about money, the less stressed you will be. Paying yourself first should be your first and most important bill that you pay every month. After that, you need to follow your budget which should include your plan to fix your credit. Once you have those wheels in motion, THE WORLD IS YOURS!! You will be well on your way to financial freedom! Mind Right! Money Right!!
