Common: The Dreamer, The Believer

Dreaming and Believing. A pair of fleeting notions, dreaming and believing are in need of a makeover and Common has apparently decided to occupy the space other artists have opted to ignore. The United States continues to experience inner strife, economic recesses and a loss of collective morale.

And then there is The Dreamer/The Believer, the ninth album by the Chicago renaissance man. In this conversation with AllHipHop’s Chuck “Jigsaw” Creekmur, Com runs down the importance of making great art, working with NO ID again, and we try to get him to tell who he’s talking about on “Sweet.” “I just came out and said it. If they want to [lyrically] come my way, then come my way…but come strong though,” Common said.
