Lil Wayne Writing “Amazing” Lyrics In Prison

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Lil’ Wayne recently wrote to fans from jail and described his life behind bars on Rikers Island.”I wake up around 11 a.m. Have some coffee. Call my kids, and my wonderful mother. I then shower up. Read fan mail,” Lil Wayne wrote in a letter posted on weezythanxyou.com.After that, the hip-hop star has lunch, gets back on the phone, reads a book or jots down his thoughts.  After dinner, he makes one more trip to the phone and does some pushups.  “Then I listen to ESPN on the radio. Read the bible, then sleep. That’s my day,” he wrote.  The 27-year-old rapper, whose real name is Dwayne Carter, is serving a one-year sentence for having a loaded gun on his tour bus in New York City after a concert July 22, 2007.Cops who boarded Lil Wayne’s tour bus said they saw him toss the .40-caliber Springfield Armory semiautomatic handgun into a Louis Vuitton knapsack. There was no question the knapsack was his, cops said — it had his stuff in it, including a prescription bearing the name Dwayne Carter.Wayne also said that he had been listening to the radio a that he is still diligently working on his lyrics.“I’ve been writing and let me be the first to tell you that the lyrics that I’m writing are… well there’s no word that I can think of that properly defines them,” Lil Wayne wrote. “Amazing would be too typical and perfect would be unfair. I listen to the radio sometimes, emphasis on sometimes, and I hear the new music. I like some.”In addition, Wayne congratulated his fellow Young Money counterparts on their recent success. “I applaud my Young Money family for what they’re doing… this is what we’re supposed to do. Congrats to Drake and Nicki for all their recent success. Those 2 are going to have me retiring early,” Wayne confessed.  “I love my team.” According to reports, Lil Wayne will be released from prison in November.

TOP 5 DEAD OR ALIVE: Murs

Music is life! Hip-Hop is more than a mere profession; it’s an encompassing passion, just ask Nick “MURS” Carter. Before his passport reflected a montage of global experiences, his life has been submerged in sound. Yes, prior to orchestrating annual Hip-Hop festivals, the West coast MC, spent years working at his South Central Los Angeles, family-owned, dry-cleaning business. Cocooned amid the cleaning cacophony—fans whirring, bells dinging (announcing arrivals), customers dictating instructions—more often than not, MURS was in the back enveloped in rhyme. The headphones that he always wore became a teleportation device, instantly transporting him to his personal land of harmony. This emerging icon is capable of completing any job as long as it’s accompanied by a musical score.

“Music is what I love. Not only doing it [as a] contributor, or artist, or legend, or figure—whatever—I’m a fan! I’ve always been a fan; that will never change. I love this music through and through, the good, the bad, and the ugly!” ForNever with , 9th Wonder, and The Melrose with ,Terrace Martin, are the most recent offerings from MURS’ vault of lyrical jewels. This refined wordsmith, grants AllHipHop.com, access to the Top5 five MCs that made him become a loyal Hip-Hop supporter.

AllHipHop.com: I want to get a succinct version of your Top 5 Dead Or Alive.

MURS: A succinct version—alright— how are you doing ma’am; I’m sorry.

AllHipHop.com: I’m good, how are you doing?

MURS: I’m alright. It was—I’ll get it again.

AllHipHop.com: Also, will you give me a little juice as to why you put these guys in your Top 5?

ICE CUBE & LL COOL J

MURS: Ice Cube and LL, because they’ve done more than any rapper. They’ve extended the boundaries on their own, along with, Will Smith, but they’re better rappers than Will Smith. They’re still relevant today. I think that either of them can still rap a decent verse and perform a decent show. To this day, both of them also rap still, because they love it. And that’s a good thing, you know, because it’s definitely not about a pay check—a  million records or the making of just one movie?

LL COOL J

MURS: If he’s doing “4,3,2,1” [featuring Method Man, Redman & DMX]; you know, I think LL Cool J is just dynamic!

ICE CUBE

MURS: Ice Cube is a godfather of Gangster Rap and the whole West coast movement. On any of Ice Cube’s modern releases, I think that you can listen to what he says. He can still rap and he still gives a f***!

E-40

MURS: He’s just, an all around, most solid rapper. He sounds like no one; he’s prolific! His business acumen is out of this world. He’s a great family man and entrepreneur. He has his own chain of Fat Burgers. He was the first rapper to get an independent label deal. A lot of people don’t recognize him for that—before Master P, before anyone—it was 40 with Sick Wid It. He got a seven or eight figure deal from Jive in ’92, which is unheard of. And still, at 40 years old, he’s still dropping records today! To me, he’s still untouched lyrically and stylistically.

JUVENILE

MURS: Juvenile has always been amazing to me—underrated and amazing! I definitely think he was the greatest rapper to groom Lil Wayne; he definitely groomed and prepped Lil Wayne. He’s always been him. I love people who are unique and always stay them. When you hear Juvenile, you know it’s him. He doesn’t deviate, but he still remains innovative, without deviating from the core of who he is.

JAY-Z & Q-TIP

MURS: It’s always been Jay, but I think that recent stuff from Jay has broke my heart a little bit. But for me, Amplified, from Q-Tip, is probably my favorite solo album of all time. He’s a dynamic performer. I like his stuff, and I had to have a East coast rapper in there, somewhere. It’s also that, too.

Honorable Mentions

I have to mention Ms. Lauryn Hill and Andre 3000. But, they’ve never made solo Rap records; so, I can’t put them in the running.

The Sidebar

MURS—Meticulous, Unrelenting, Repertoire of Skills; or perhaps, Most, Underrated, Rapper, Standing—what acronym accurately substantiates what MURS brings to Hip-Hop? He champions its essence by creating festivals like, Paid Dues, and challenges his peers to supersede mere Rap clichés. He demonstrates its purest essence. MURS, an enduring example of an MC, conjures hope that Hip-Hop’s Golden Years may yet again be revisited.

KANYE WEST HAS A NEW GIRLFRIEND

Apparently, the paps have discovered a new gal for Kanye. GlobalGrind is reporting that Kanye and an exotic girl were seen at a Starbucks in New York. Here is how it went down, “”When Kanye’s girl tried to order a cookie, he said no and gave her a hard time because it was too fattening. He ordered a latte and blueberry muffin.” There has been no picture of this mystery women so who knows. It sounds like he’s trying to make sure she stays thin when the pics and stuff really start to kick in. Who knows!

ILLSEED’S QUICKIES

This is probably late, but I heard Supreme McGriff was heated that Diddy named his new crew the Supreme Team. That is the name of the notorious crew from Queens. I believe Diddy is now calling them the Dream Team.

There is buzz that Mase and Cam’ron may be working together again.

Another OG got married and I forgot! Kevin Liles got hitched too! Congrats!

It appears like the Pac Man / Mayweather fight is going down. They have a deadline of Friday at 11am. Seems like all points have been agreed upon and its on Floyd now.

Does anybody know what Christina Milian did to Funk Master Flex for him to diss her so hard? I’m just wondering. I mean, people don’t lash out like that for nothing.

Rumor has it, Ashanti and Nelly are still an item. I guess they worked it out? Who know.

LIL KIM DIDN’T DISS DETROIT

There was a recent rumor that Lil Kim thought she had too much class for Detroit, but she busted the rumor like a watermelon down South. She showed up and here is the video:

Fathers and their daughters. There is a special bond. Well, the bond gets more special when the daughter takes to dancing for the internet and father pops in. Watch this one.

SIGNS THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END?

When you call the police, you expect them to come to your rescue or help, right? Well, not down in the “A.” Apparently, the come and taze you after you call them for help. That’s what happened to a woman when she thought there was a prowler or burglar around her house. This is making national news.

Because of this and other acts of police brutality like Oscar Grant, protestors are creating a One Million Voter March on Washington. This is to speak volumes to Washington and Obama. For more info or to help, hit them up at Mi*************************@***il.com.

Lil Wayne Writes Second Letter From Jail

Hello world… I’m good. Counting the days and still smiling. Most

of those smiles come from hearing my kids’ voices over the phone. The

others come from reading fan mail. Let me just say that I have the best

fans in the world! The devotion, dedication, support, love, and most of

all, prayers are simply the best. I never imagined that I could have

such an impact on people’s lives. Because of this, I vow to be a bit

more careful of what I say.

So I’ve been writing and let me be the first to tell you that the

lyrics that I’m writing are… well there’s no word that I can think of

that properly defines them. Amazing would be too typical and perfect

would be unfair. I listen to the radio sometimes, emphasis on sometimes,

and I hear the new music. I like some. I applaud my Young Money family

for what they’re doing. As I’m not surprised. This is what we’re

supposed to do. Congrats to Drake and Nicki for all their recent

success. Those 2 are going to have me retiring early. I love my team.

Much love to Tez and Mack. I know that people are inquisitive of what I

do all day, so here goes. I wake up around 11AM. Have some coffee. Call

my kids, and my wonderful mother. I then shower up. Read fan mail. Have

lunch. Back on the phone. Read a book or write some thoughts down. Have

dinner. Phone. Pushups. Then I listen to ESPN on the radio. Read the

bible, then sleep. That’s my day.

I’ll end this letter, but never my love. I’m gone. Oh, and how ‘bout

dem Lakers!?!

P.S. I thank my fans for appreciating me the way you do.

DMX’S Wife Prepares Book, Finds Author

DMX’s wife Tahera Simmons is preparing the release of her book about life with the megastar and has found her co-author.

Tashera enlisted Aliya S. King, an author that has written books for “American Gangster” Frank Lucas and Faith Evans. King also recently released a book called “Platinum” which chronicles the lives of rappers and their wives.

One character in the book resembles Tashera. “I’m all up in there (the book),” Tashera joked with King at an book release party on Monday.

“When I first met Aliya, I was in a state where I was trapped and she was the first person that kind of opened me up. She started asking me questions about what it was like to be in the light of a super star, rap star.” King wrote a story for VIBE magazine that chronicled the lives of Hip-Hop artists’ wives and it provided the ground work for the book.

Tashera Simmons said that King later came to her with the book and told her it was a fictitious tale that mirrored the real life accounts of these women and their men.

That is when the pair decided to join forces.

“I told her I am working on my book, “Strength of a Woman” and she told me to read (“Platinum”) and tell me what you think. It touched me. She’s writing my book now.””Strength of a Woman” does not have a release date.DMX was released from an Arizona prison facility July 6, 2010 after serving four out of six months for violating drug

probation. He has already started working with Swizz Beatz on new music.

Rapper Eve Has New Outlook on Life, Love

(AllHipHop News) Rapper/actress Eve has a new outlook on love and marriage according to a new interview with Essence Magazine’s Sister 2 Sister publication. In February of 2010, Eve was caught in an international investigation surrounding her ex-boyfriend Teodorin Nguema Obiang, the son of President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo of Equatorial Guinea.Federal agents accused Obiang of laundering hundreds of millions of dollars into the United States and setting up businesses in honor of his then-girlfriend, Eve. Eve has since broken up with Obiang and has been spotted out on the dating scene again in recent months with other men, including a man from Ghana, although that relationship was short lived. “I was going to Ghana for a while just because that’s where he is from. He’s an amazing man. We keep in touch every so often. He was a great guy, but I knew it wasn’t right. We definitely didn’t have the same things going on in our heads, as far as what it is we wanted as a life. He pretty much was down to do whatever I wanted to do and I don’t need that, you know? “Eve, who was once engaged to Bad Boy producer Stevie J., said that she is looking forward to being married, but has yet to find a suitable match. “I need somebody in my life that’s going to challenge me,” Eve said. “Like, I definitely want to be priority, but I don’t want a sap.”
