(AllHipHop News) Thizz Nation rapper J-Hype was the victim of a chain snatching/shooting that resulted in another man being shot by police officers, during a celebration for revered Vallejo rapper, Mac Dre. J-Hype, born Joel Willams, was among the thousands of fans and family members who gathered in North Vallejo Park on Sunday (July 3rd) to celebrate Mac Dres birthday, which is on July 5th. Around 9:00 PM, someone in all-black approached J-Hype from behind, shot him twice in the legs and fled with his custom Thizz Nation chain he was wearing. “(After) the first shot, I didn’t know (I was hit) at first, I went for my chain and it broke off, the whole cord,” J-Hype told the Vallejo-Times Herald. “At that point, I turned around and saw a gun in my face.”Police chased a suspect named Ronar Inocencio, who pointed a handgun at police and was shot twice, for brandishing his weapon at officers. J-Hype is an artist on Mac Dres Thizz Nation label. He released his latest album About My Thizzness in 2008, which featured Mac Dre, San Quinn, Dubee and others. Mac Dre was gunned down in November of 2004 on a Kansas City interstate highway, after gunmen sprayed the vehicle his was traveling in with bullets, causing the automobile to flip over. His murder set off a chain of violence in Kansas City and around the Bay Area and culminated in the May 2005 shooting deaths of Anthony Fat Tone Watkins and Germaine Cowboy Atkins in Las Vegas. Ultimately, Bay area rapper Mac Minister and an accomplice named Jason Mathis were convicted of murdering Watkins and Atkins in retaliation for Mac Dres murder. “I’m not surprised at the violence, but I’m surprised at the violence towards me, because usually all the fans and all the people who come around, they know if you’re going to do something to somebody, you know who not to do it to,” J-Hype said.
(AllHipHop News) ABCs Good Morning America has canceled a free outdoor concert for rapper Drake out of security concerns. Drake was supposed to perform on July 16th, as part of Good Morning Americas summer concert series, which has already showcased performances by Alicia Keys, Miley Cyrus and others. According to the New York Daily News, security for the free show in Central Park was not adequate, forcing the NYPD to order the Parks Department to pull the plug on the show. According to representatives for Good Morning America, Drake was never officially booked to perform and a replacement has already been found. Last week, Drake confirmed that he was canceled an upcoming July tour of Europe, to support his mother, who is undergoing surgery.
(AllHipHop News) A judge is expected to rule on a controversial injunction to ban rapper Big Bad 40 (previously known as 40 Glocc) from the Arbor Terrace Apartments. The San Bernardino District Attorneys office claims Big Bad 40 is a high ranking member of the Colton City Crips. During the trial, prosecutors presented evidence to a judge that allegedly proved the rappers membership in the gang, by showing videos, lyrics and even a C.C.C. tattoo on his chest. “They are using my songs against me. I thought the Constitution of the United States of America which is where I live grants me the first amendment which is freedom speech, I mean thats what I read,” Big Bad 40 said. Prosecuting attorney Marc Vos denied that he was attempting to prevent Big Bad 40 from exercising his right to free speech, which are protected under the 1st Amendment in the Constitution of the United States of America. Instead, Vos claimed that 40 was a hardened gang member who was involved in a wild shootout in 1996, although he was never prosecuted for his role in the gun battle. Police now fear that if 40 returns to Arbor Terrace, aka The Zoo, that crime will shoot back up. “White loiters like his gang — in the places they loiter, he trespasses like them — he was caught on surveillance video in their presence,” Vos wrote. “He talks their talk, promotes them, wears the Colton beanie, throws up their hand signs, features them in his rap videos.”Big Bad 40 vehemently denied participating in any illegal activity and said their was no proof of him shooting, stealing or ever committing a crime. My rights are being violated and somebody is lying on me, Big Bad 40 complained. I dont have any tattoos on my chest and whoever is putting out this wrong information can come over here and take a picture.Big Bad 40 recently thumbed his nose at prosecutors when he released the single F**k the Police and called out the prosecutor in the case, as well as various detectives, by name. 40 believes his taunts have angered prosecutors, who are seeking to prevent him from rapping about his upbringing and his beliefs. They make things up when I boast and brag and tease them in my music they find ways to punish me for not allowing them to dictate what I can and cannot do for my income and entertainment purposes, Big Bad 40 said.
Drake has been the topic of much discussion since exploding on the rap scene under the Young Money / Cash Money brands. He receives more than his fair share of adulation and hatred, but indifference is not a word associated with him. So, it was only fitting that AllHipHop.com got the Canadians Top 5 Dead or Alive to get the artists and influences that got him to his lofty perch in the rap game. The list is as unique as the 23-year-old.
AllHipHop.com: AllHipHop needs your Top 5 Dead or Alive. Can you talk about your influences of your music?
Drake: I would say . I wont say rappers . Leonardo DiCaprio
AllHipHop.com: Wait, wait, wait, they are typically rappers, but you can say whoever you want. Lupe Fiasco went way off course and it was all good. But can you tell us why Leonardo?
LEONARDO DICAPRIO
Drake: I like the way he [Leonardo DiCaprio] carries himself and how much he lives his work. That is something that I hope to accomplish. I dont think I live my work. I dont think that I prep enough for my music like someone like Kanye West, his work ethic is so crazy. He studies it, he sleeps it, he breathes it. When hes making an album, there is no distraction, no clubs, there might be some for the most part, but its really intense, and his work ethic I hope to achieve someday.
JIMI HENDRIX
Second would be Jimi Hendrix, I love how he just performed under pressure. I read a lot of things about him. I watched a lot of things, being put on at the wrong times, being f##### around, being high and under the influence and performing in the unbelievably sedated mindstate. Just how he dressed and how rebellious he was and how he performed and took the world by storm on a Beatles type movement as one man.
JAY-Z
Third would be Jay-Z. Everything about Jay, how long he has been in the game as a rapper, you know how intelligent he is, you know who he is married to. Everything about Jay in his lifestyle is very inspiring to me.
KANYE WEST
Fourth, I would have to say, in my life, I would have to attribute Kanye West with a lot of inspiration. There was a time in my life when I was completely engulfed in everything that Kanye had to offer like when he first came out to College Dropout. Everything about him, how he dressed, his crew, you know everything about Kanye was so intriguing to me.
ANDRE 3000
And last I would have to say Andre from Outkast. The whole Outkast being a part of my childhood. He was always unafraid to be intelligent, and I respect that. I dont change my voice and talk a certain way because I am doing an interview with AllHipHop.com . I will still speak to you how I speak.
THE SIDEBAR – LIL WAYNE
AllHipHop.com: No Wayne?
Drake: I would say that when it comes to Wayne, I am talking outside [the crew]. Wayne is the closest thing that I have ever come to an idol or hero. I am speaking outside my camp, I feel like if you ever hear any of my interviews you understand Wayne is a given. Wayne is my hero. He has built up something from the ground that you have never seen in a lot of years. If you ever heard an interview of me you know that Wayne is a given. Coming back from being a Hot Boy to recreating his flow, to taking over the game. I dont think that there is any other rapper that is as iconic as Lil Wayne. I think the only thing that is more iconic than Lil Wayne is the diamond that people make for the Roc.

I don’t know how this got past the entire internet but Khujo Goodie of the Goodie Mob has been sent to jail for two years! I don’t know why, but several people confirmed it, including Cee-Lo, DJ Greg Street, Sleepy Brown, Big Rube and others that are affiliated with the Dungeon Crew of the 90s. Big Rube said, I wanna send out nothin but love to my folk Khujo. He didn’t deserve no damn 2 years. To Khujo the realest G I’ve ever met.” Damn, that effectively KILLS the damn Goodie Mob reunion that we were all looking forward to! Damnation! A person identifying them self as Cee-Lo on Twitter has reportedly said that he won’t rap anymore until Khujo is out of jail. More singing from Cee-Lo.
SUGE KNIGHT IS WANTED AGAIN!!!!
Per TMZ:
Cops are on the hunt for one Suge Knight — after the former Death Row kingpin skipped out on a court appearance in L.A. According to court documents, obtained by TMZ, Knight was supposed to appear in court last week for driving on a suspended license back in 2009 … it’s the latest in a string of recent legal run-ins.
KELIS REALITY SHOW?
They are giving out reality shows like welfare cheese back in the day. Well, the latest YAP is that Kelis may be the next person to get a “deal.” I say deal, because it seems like reality shows are the new record deal. They are harder to get and seem to be the way stars are weeded out now. NEVERTHELESS, you probably remember, Nas and Kelis were about to do one of their own and it failed because they were too “private.” I suspect it was Nas that was too private! We’ll see what’s good. I’m not sure Kelis is going to make a great reality show without some drama and since she and Nasir are “cool,” where is the beef.
Pause.
JAY-Z’S NEW ALBUM!
Ahhhh…I don’t have too many details, but I am being told that Jay-Z is working on some new music that is going to expand where he is. You know, he’s not playing with the notion that he’s not revisiting his old styles. I am being told that he is going to bust out with a more danceable and club-like steez. That’s pretty much all I know, but it seems like he may be working with Timbaland and/or Swizz Beatz heavily on it. No other word except that it sounds really good…
50 CENT’S NEW BATTLE WITH DIDDY!
This was supposed to be news, but they deaded the story and sent it to me for you to see.
By Houston Williams
Rapper 50 Cent has taken his “combat skills” in a totally different direction in a new crusade against fellow mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs.
50 Cent, real name Curtis Jackson, has formed an online petition that calls for Diddy to stop him from using the name of The Notorious B.I.G.
Under his own, boobooTV banner, 50 Cent says, “Enough is enough, Biggie’s name should never have become Diddy’s Black Card. Let Diddy know to let B.I.G. rest in peace. When was the last time Diddy really was “biggin up his brother,” not biggin up his bank?”
50 Cent used Diddy’s latest effort with Jay Electronica, “The Ghost of Christopher Wallace,” as his example.
At press time, the petition had 131 signatures. Those wish to join in 50 Cent’s movement can sign through their Twitter account.
50 Cent and Diddy began feuding after the Bad Boy CEO joined forces with Rick Ross, an enemy of 50 Cent. Diddy also manages Rick Ross’ music career now.
THE PLIGHT OF THE FEMALE RAPPER!!!!!
In the past, I have been talking about the female rapper and there is a documentary called “She Got Next”on the way that examines the female rap artist.
CONGRATS!
I have to send a shout out to my big homey Santo, who recently got married. Dude is one cool hombre and his wife is apparently cool too. Check out her B-boy/B-Girl stance with Santo keeping it hood. Congrats and many years of Happiness!
ILLSEED’S QUICKIES
They are saying LeBron is going to the Knicks! But, is that possible with the recent signing of Amare Stoudemire? Insiders say there is still a possibility of them both coming to NY.
Nobody knows if DMX was released yet!!!!!!!
EWWWWW…there is this pop singer named Kei$a and she’s got a pretty crazy pic of her out there after some dude busted off on her. She’s semi-naked in the pic.
Mike Vick will not seen any charges from that shooting situation. Good for him.
I just heard – a few minutes after writing the above line – that DMX was indeed released from jail.
OJ Simpson has found love and his love is a pen pal. I bet she is happy! Dude can’t kill her from jail! LOL!
Swizzie and Alicia copped Lenny Kravitz’s old house!
EPIC FAIL OF THE DAY!
DAYUM! This bloke clocked this girl like I haven’t seen a girl get hit in a long time! He went for the KO! Mannnnnnnn…this is just proof why its not cool to hit women. It really isn’t cool. Even the ones like Kat Stacks.

(AllHipHop News) Legendary DJ Scratch has revealed to AllHipHop.com that he will change his well known moniker to DJ Jam Master Scratch, with the support of founding Run-DMC member, Darryl DMC McDaniels. As DJ Scratch, the veteran turntablist/producer has worked with EPMD, DMX, Jay-Z, Busta Rhymes and 50 Cent. In 1988 Run-DMC helped Scratch gain entry into the music business as the DJ for their Runs House World Tour. In 1988 on the tour, Scratch befriended Jam Master Jay, who recommended him to rap group EPMD. Scratch has been with EPMD ever since, in addition to becoming a world renowned battle DJ and producer. At 8:00 PM, Jam Master Scratch will air footage of DMC proclaiming him the next official Jam Master. I dropped so many tears about this, Jam Master Scratch told AllHipHop.com. Me being recognized for my 22 years of work by a king [DMC], is my Lifetime Achievement Award. Jam Master Jay was gunned down in his Hollis, Queens recording studio on October 30, 2002. The legendary DJs murder still remains unsolved. “I will continue to represent JMJ. Only practice makes a real Jam Master,” Jam Master Scratch said, quoting the song Jam Master Jay, Run-DMCs familiar ode to the late DJ. To witness DMC renaming DJ Scratch to Jam Master Scratch, visit www.scratchvision.com.
(AllHipHop.com) Lyrical icon Kool G Rap is preparing a new, untitled album and told AllHipHop.com it has been a long time since he’s been so excited about his music.
“I haven’t been this passionate about s### in a long time, so when someone asks me a question about it I got so much s**t to say, its not just recording a song, this is spilling my f**king guts out there,” the Corona Queens native told AllHipHop.com.
He also said that this looming album would reveal parts of storied life never told before.
“This is G Rap right here, from childhood to adulthood. This is the part that I’ma give the people,” he continued.
Kool G Rap even alluded to losing the passion for Hip-Hop music, even though he is widely regarded as one of the best the genre has offered.
“This is G Rap being excited about even doing this s**t again. There’s been times in my life I lost interest, or even desire to do this s**t. But this, is me.” he said.
Kool G Rap began his career in the late 80’s and is credited with ushering in a new wave of lyricism to Hip-Hop with others like Big Daddy Kane and Rakim. He released seminal albums like Road to the Riches, Wanted: Dead or Alive, Live and Let Die along with DJ Polo. His last work was 2008’s Half a Klip.
ChartWatch for July 7, 2010
Eminem continues his dominance on the charts this week
selling 325,098 copies of his seventh studio album, Recovery. The Detroit MC,
once again, takes the number one spot and manages to crack a million, with his
total sales now standing at 1,078,968. A
million in 2 weeks? Em is putting up
Susan Boyle numbers. Look at what
happens when you ditch the weird accent and put out a good album.
Coming in at a respectable second is Drake who remains in
the same spot as he was last week. His
debut album, Thank Me Later, sells
104,829 copies bringing his total sales to 724,269. Keep this up and in a week or two he might go
moose which is platinum in Canada. (I
just made that s*#% up so please dont go repeating it in conversation like you
learned something new.)
Because he just entered the charts ..and because hes in the
top ten .and because hes married to Christina Milan .Im putting The Dream on
the ChartWatch. Terius Youngdell Nash
(real name) drops his third album, Love
King, grabs the number four spot, and sells 58,920 copies.
The Roots fall out of the top ten, from six to seventeen,
and move 18,474 copies of their latest, How
I Got Over. So far the Philly
representatives have sold 67,794 copies.
(If you havent had a chance LISTEN to this album. Its more than worth it).
B.o.B jumps up four spots landing at 22 with his debut, The Adventures of Bobby Ray. This week the Atlanta MC sells 15,647 copies
and total sales for his debut album are at 260,005.
The Black Eyed Peas move another 14,787 copies of their
gargantuan album The E.N.D. At this point the Hip Pop group has sold
enough albums to buy a couple of small countries. And people say the recording industry is
dead. The Peas have the formula. One producer + one below average singer and
you can sell gazillions (wait I almost forgot to add the two forgettable
dancers? rappers?…guys with funny names?…I mean, you dont need them but
they can make hand movements in the background while your producer and average
singer are performing).
Ludacris moves up one spot, from 47 to 46, selling 7,992
copies of Battle of the Sexes. So far Luda has sold 445,093 of his seventh
studio album.
Nas and Damian Marley move another 7,167 of their critically
acclaimed album Distant Relatives bringing their total sales to 136,226. This week the duo claims the number 48 spot.
Plies Goon Affiliated lands at the 49th spot
selling 7,039 copies and bringing the Florida rappers total sales to 92,556.
Lastly, Lil Waynes rock experiment, Rebirth, climbs back
into the top 50 claiming the 50th spot and selling 7,038 copies.

to pick this one up.
Finally we have New Orleans native, Juvenile, who releases
his 10th studio album, Beast
Mode. The album features Verse Simmons, Juvy Jr. (Juvenile’s son), and Cape. I havent heard to much about this but fans

WHY DEF JAMS LIL RU GOT BEAT UP!
Hopefully, this gets resolved, but I suspect it wont. Here is what somebody over at SheBloggin.com told me.
I recently did an interview with the babymama of Def Jam artist Lil Ru where she told me in detail how neglectful he is with their 7 year old son. She went on to expose that he has 7 confirmed children and 2 possible, one of which is supposedly by Real Chance of Love 2 contestant, Junk. She says he does not support their son at all, and has even threatened to kill her all because she stays on his ass about not being a good father.
In part two of the interview, she explains what really happened in an altercation between Lil Ru and fellow South Carolina popular rapper, Boss G. The altercation took place this past weekend between the two rappers and their associates and was filmed. After watching the footage, several conclusions were drawn, including that Boss G struck Lil Ru’s girlfriend several times (the girl in the yellow). But Dame, Lil Ru’s babymama was front and center (in the green shirt in the video) and saw first hand what happened.
The fight.
LIL RU, WE LOVE YOU!!!
They keep us talking, but if we stop talking about them then they should worry!
