Now that 2018 is in full swing DOT. returns with a banger for the new year. The New York MC closed out 2017 with back to back releases that saw him build an organic following that continues to grow. His previous music videos, “Bound 2 See” and “You Need It, I Got It” featuring Uncle Murda are both yielding fantastic results online, thus continuing the momentum for the release of his self-produced debut project “Start The Hate,” slated for release some time this year. 2018 looks to be a breakout year for the newcomer, as he is set to open up for Kendrick Lamar during the European leg of his tour and has a rumored Dipset collaboration in the works. Doubling down on his success from the tail end of last year, today DOT. officially releases the music video for “Who The Greatest Is.”
For the visual, he takes his talents to the local barbershop, where the G.O.A.T. debate often takes place, humbly paying homage to the greats who have inspired him such as 2pac, Notorious B.I.G., Kobe Bryant, Muhammad Ali and those of that ilk. Heeding the words of his mentor, Hip Hop icon Chuck D, who shared the importance of quality over quantity, DOT. bypasses the trendy gimmicks new age artists utilize for stardom, instead focusing on sharp lyricism and hard-hitting beats, the backbone of Hip Hop. DOT. then shifts gears into the gym, showcasing his discipline and commitment to excellence, the MC takes a tactical approach to his artistry, treating his peers not as friends but competition and on Who The Greatest Is, he eloquently makes his case as one of the best of Hip Hop’s new era.
