50 Cent is on the verge of settling a dispute with Remy Martin, which sued his Sire Spirits brand for allegedly copying a bottle design.

50 Cent made progress toward reaching a settlement with Remy Martin, which sued his Sire Spirits brand for copyright infringement.

According to court documents obtained by AllHipHop, both sides asked a judge for more time to finalize the terms of an agreement on Wednesday (March 1). 50 Cent and Remy Martin were scheduled for a status conference in the case on Friday (March 3).

“Remy Martin and Sire Spirits respectfully submit this joint request for a 14-day adjournment of the status conference currently scheduled for Friday, March 3, 2023,” lawyers informed the court. “Remy Martin and Sire Spirits make this request to allow the parties time to complete settlement negotiations and finalize a settlement agreement and will provide the Court with an update on or before Friday, March 17, 2023.”

Judge Alvin Hellerstein approved the request. He rescheduled the status conference for March 24.

Remy Martin sued Sire Spirits in 2021. The lawsuit claimed 50 Cent’s Branson Cognac bottle copied the style of Remy Martin’s Centaure de Diamant bottle.

Sire Spirits denied ripping off the Centaure de Diamant design. 50 Cent’s brand contended it modeled the Branson Cognac bottle after Civil War-era canteens. The G-Unit boss accused Remy Martin of trying to destroy its competition in the cognac market.
