Rappers AG of Diggin In The Crates, Sadat X and DJ Jab have formed a new super group titled Trinity.
The group debuted during Audible Treats’ CMJ ’09 Showcase and already has a deal with legendary indie label/record store Fat Beats.
The first record from the trio is titled “Roc Raida Tribute,” a dedication to their friend DJ Roc Raida, who died in September.
“Roc Raida was our only DJ. And I say only because anytime we went on the road Roc was always our DJ. To see him eventually win the world championship, it’s like damn I know him – my DJ is the best DJ in the world,” group member AG told AllHipHop.com in a statement.
In addition to his membership in the Diggin In The Crates collective, rapper AG rose to fame with partner Showbiz.
Sadat X is a founding member of legendary Hip-Hop group Brand Nubian, while DJ Jab is the owner of Fat Beats Records.
The tribute track to Roc Raida features two different break beats with the verses delivered by AG and Sadat X.
“You wouldn’t know he was so nice, he never blew his own horn,” Sadat X stated. “He never bragged about himself, just a very humble person, a family man… just a good dude.”
Trinity’s debut album is due in stores in 2010.video platformvideo managementvideo solutionsfree video player
