Childish Gambino Talks Creating Joint Project With Chance The Rapper (AUDIO)

THE AWARD-WINNER SPEAKS WITH BIG BOY

(AllHipHop News) Donald “Childish Gambino” Glover and Chance The Rapper have been hinting about doing a collaborative project for a while.

During a 2016 Reddit “Ask Me Anything” session, Chance confirmed the joint album/mixtape does exist.

Then fans were even more curious about the two emcees joining forces after Chance posted a picture with Gambino on Instagram.

The caption for the photo read, “Hawaii then LA, back to work.”

Gambino was asked about the potential project with Chance while speaking with Real 92.3’s Big Boy.

“We definitely met up before. I don’t know if I’ll see him again now that he’s won a Grammy. We’ll see what happens,” joked Gambino. “We actually sat down in the studio and were talking for a little bit. We’re both busy, but I think when he has a moment, we’ve been sitting down working together. I think it’s about catching a vibe.”

The Stone Mountain, Georgia native added, “I just want to hang out with him. I don’t work with people over email anymore. I think it doesn’t make good work. We have to find a time to sit down together.”

Both Gambino and Chance had breakout years in 2016.

Glover won several awards for his FX series Atlanta, and he released the critically acclaimed “Awaken, My Love!” album.

He was also picked to play Lando Calrissian in the forthcoming Star Wars film centered around Han Solo.

Chance The Rapper’s Coloring Book mixtape became the first streaming-only project to win the Grammy Award for “Best Rap Album,” and the Chicago native took home the trophy for “Best New Artist.”

In addition, the Save Money collective member arguably had the rap verse of the year with his contribution to Kanye West’s “Ultralight Beam.”
