Earlier this year, Famous Dex reportedly completed a rehabilitation program for drug addiction. The man born Dexter Gore Jr. even began teasing the release of new weekly music videos following his return to social media.
It appears the Chicago-raised rhymer’s recent positive turnaround hit a snag in Los Angeles, California. Dexter had a run-in with law enforcement this week which led to his arrest.
The rapper was riding in the backseat of a car when LAPD pulled it over Tuesday night in North Hollywood for not having a rear license plate. We’re told Dex tried to get out and walk away during the traffic stop, but cops detained him and decided to search the vehicle. It’s unclear what prompted the officers’ search, but during it, our sources say a loaded gun was found under Dex’s seat, so he was arrested for carrying a concealed firearm.
Famous Dex was booked for a felony charge on March 16. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s website, the 27-year-old 300 Entertainment recording artist has a bail set at a total amount of $90,000.
