730Dipset CEO and founding Dipset member Freekey Zekey has shed further light on his former crew’s dissolution and current status via his new single “Feel Me.”
For the past several months, other former Dipset members have given conflicting information on whether the Harlem crew would ever reunite.
Cam’ron has emphatically rejected any talk of reconciliation, stating in a recent interview that Dipset was no more and everyone should “get over it.”
Jim Jones has challenged Cam’ron’s sole claim to the Dipset mantra, while Juelz Santana has criticized his former mentor for being “too stubborn.”
On Zekey’s “Feel Me,” the Harlemite places equal blame on Cam’Ron and Jim Jones, stating the former had “shiesty contracts,” and the latter was “stealing the money,” leaving him and Santana to take the financial hits (“Me and Juelz got hit like we was Joe Buddens”).
Also, Zekey explains how following his incarceration he was able to link up with Big Cat Records, former home of Gucci Mane and the label which will distribute his upcoming sophomore album.
“It is time for me to speak, I want to world to know my side of the story; I want them to see my life for what it is,” Zekey told AllHipHop.com in a statement. “I want to answer the questions that people have been asking, like what’s up with Dipset and why did you sign to Big Kat Records, when the listen to ‘Feel Me’ they will all have their answers.”
At press time, Zekey’s forthcoming album is targeted for an early 2010 release.
