Despite getting off to a bad start after rap star Lil Wayne canceled his performance during the Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. Pay-Per-View event, spectators were treated to a great night of boxing.
Even though Wayne blamed unforeseeable circumstances for dropping out of the gig at the last minute, Wiz kept the crowd open by running through five of his biggest hits before the match got underway. Snoop Dogg replaced Wayne, while DaBaby, French Montana, Wiz Khalifa YG and Ne-Yo took to the stage during the bout at The Staples Center in Los Angeles.
The Tyson-Jones fight was just as exciting as the rap stars who opened the PPV fight, which included an undercard featuring Jake Paul vs. Nate Robinson, Badou Jack vs. Blake McKernan, and Viddal Riley vs. Rashad Coulter.
Mike Tyson, 54, shed 100 pounds for his first fight since 2005 when he shocked the world by refusing to come out of his corner during a fight against Kevin McBride. Roy Jones Jr., who weighed in at 210 pounds, last fought in February of 2018, when he beat Scott Sigmon by unanimous decision.
Tyson and Jones Roy Jones Jr. 51, were both impressive during their comeback, which lasted eight rounds and ended in a draw between the two icons.

Both boxers put on an exciting exhibition for the fight, which served as the launchpad for Tyson’s new Legends Only League, which will continue to promote fights between retired boxing pros.
The undercard may have had the best action of the night, after YouTube Jake Paul demolished Nate Robinson with a devastating uppercut and right cross, which knocked the NBA legend out cold for almost a minute.
