Robin Thicke And Pharrell Denied A Retrial In ‘Blurred Lines’ Case

MORE RULINGS HAVE BEEN MADE IN THE ‘BLURRED LINES’ CASE

After Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams were ordered to pay Marvin Gaye’s family $7.4 million in damages in March over “Blurred Lines” sounding similar to Gaye’s “Got to Give It Up,” the judge is continuing to pass down rulings.

Williams and Thicke wanted a retrial, but that request was denied by U.S. District Judge John Kronstadt, Billboard reports. He also ruled that Universal Music Group, Interscope Records and Star Trak Entertainment will be held liable for distributing “Blurred Lines.” T.I is also being held liable for his contribution to the song as well.

Judge Kronstadt also decided that the Gaye family will be given 50 percent of the songwritier and publishing  royalties.
