TMI? Will Smith Regrets Vlogging His Colonoscopy

Rap star Will Smith said he regrets vlogging his colonoscopy, even though it may have saved his life.

(AllHipHop News) Will Smith has reflected his decision to vlog his colonoscopy didn’t end up being the “joke” he thought it would be.

Last month, the star shared a 17-minute video on YouTube in which he was put to sleep during the procedure, as cameras documented him waking up, laughing and going right back to sleep.

The actor was still making jokes right after waking up from anesthesia but, speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of his new animated film, “Spies In Disguise,” in Los Angeles on Wednesday, the 51-year-old actor lamented his bad judgment.

“I was doin’ it as a joke. I thought it was gonna be funny,” Smith shared. “Yeah, it turned out to not really be funny.”

However, the colonoscopy turned out to be significant for the “Aladdin” star, as doctors removed a polyp – a pre-cancerous lesion – in his colon, with results confirming that it was pre-cancer tissues.

“You know, maintaining your health, man, is so critical,” he said, adding that he has learned another lesson from the experience: “Do not vlog your colonoscopy. Note to self.”
