(AllHipHop Rumors) Chance The Rapper has been making his presence known this holiday season in the strangest of ways.

First he gets into a Twitter dispute with DJBooth over an article they posted speaking about independent musicians not being able to achieve Chance’s level of success.

While Chance was referenced in the article, the article wasn’t directly targeting him. The article was about a conversation from ‘Everyday Struggle’ between the Struggle team and Apple Music’s Carl Chery. There Chery touched on Chance’s success and the deal Apple Music did with Chance.

In 2016, Chance The Rapper released ‘The Coloring Book’ through Apple Music exclusively for two weeks.

Carl Chery simply spoke of Chance being a special artist, how he has a phenomenal team around him and how that makes him a Hip Hop anomaly.

However, Chance blacked out at the assumption of others not being able to achieve his level of success independently.

However, that’s another story for another day. The strangest part of Chance’s holiday season rounds came in the form of him declaring Lil Wayne as the “Michael Jackson of Rap.”

This all started when Crooked I went on Twitter to poise an interesting question.

“People jokingly say Em’s the Elvis of rap.. Well who’s the Michael Jackson of rap?,” asked Crooked I.

To which Chance The Rapper replied,

“Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. He been in this sh*t.”

Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. is Lil Wayne’s government name for those who may not follow the rapper closely.

I love Chance’s support for his “No Problem” collaborator, but to name Lil Wayne as the “Michael Jackson of Rap” is a reach.

Especially with Chance working closely with a rapper named Kanye West. The same Kanye West that has won 21 Grammy awards. To put that in proper perspective, Michael Jackson has only won 13 Grammy awards, but I’ll let you all form your own opinions.

Do you think Lil Wayne is the Michael Jackson of Rap?
