Hip-Hop Rumors: Will Jay-Z Make A Longer Version Of “Beach Is Better”?

OHHHHH snap! I’m hearing that there may be a full version of Jay-Z’s “Beach Is Better,” the song on his album that’s less than a minute long. I am hearing that a nearly 4-minute version of the song is on the way. The whole album is pretty good, but a lot of people are totally confused as to why this particular song is so bumping, YET so short! So, I’m hearing that this may be in the works after the “Picasso Baby” fervor is over.

  • Jahb1911

Love Jay, but I’ve probably listen to the album 3 times since the 4th of July.. Not a great album, but an okay one. No replay value.. But that skit is dope, i hope him and mike will make it longer!!

    • Lump Beats

      Pause.

  • Flea

And if I ain’t better than Big, i’m the closest one,

If Rick Ross would have said that, I’d be down with it. Jay doesn’t do that kind of music so he shouldn’t be talking about Biggie anymore.

    • Tony G.

and u would accept that shit from clown ass Ross????fuckouttahere

      • Flea

Say what you want he’s consistent and he’s never ever dropped biggies name to validate his bullshit

      • TheGreatGazoo2012

He raps better than jay in his prime?

      • TheOnlyCoop

You’re tripping. Ross doesn’t have a album that is close to classic.

      • TheGreatGazoo2012

That was my point. I wanted the guy above me to admit that

      • vandyll

Yea he’s consistant at making the same song over and over. Pure genius!!! I bet in his next song he’ll tell you how many drugs he’s sold, how much money he has, he’ll mention a couple vacations, and expensive toys he owns. Then he’ll drop a couple lines about pretty women on his dick and what it’s like being from Miami, and inform in you in his random gun talk of how dangerous he is. LMAO!!! Yea I guess your right he is consistent.

    • Soulgasm

But when he did spit that line, he was doing that type of music. I’m pretty sure Big would’ve elevated his flow as well, had he stayed in the game this long. Why rap about a life you not living anymore…

      • Flea

We’ll never know for sure but I’m pretty sure Jay would be a much better artist if he had some competition to put him in check during that party rap era. Big would have always been Big and eventually dropped Puffy and made his own movement.. that much I know.

      • TheGreatGazoo2012

If it wasn’t for puff nobody would’ve heard of big. Listen to party and bullshit. It was dope but you couldn’t play it on the radio. Back then you depended on the radio. If there was no puff and no black mafia Pac could’ve showed him the way and it would’ve been cavi. I agree on the jay competition point. I never thought of that

      • Soulgasm

I definitely don’t doubt Jay would’ve been a better artist had he had competition. I compare Jay’s success to Mayweather’s success. Had May been in boxing game during the 80s, or the 80s boxers been boxing now (Sugar Ray, Roberto Duran, etc.) , how good would he have been? Just like Jay, May didn’t have to elevate his game anymore than he needed to, just to adapt to this era, because no one in this era has achieved their status. And honestly, no rapper in history has ever achieved the status level of what Jay has achieved. Sad, but true.

      • Negro Peligro

I don’t think its the not rapping about life you not living anymore. I think its more like we heard Open Letter. ILL I’M TALKING ILL. Then we got this crap. We heard Jocking Jay Z classic. Then we got BP3. We heard show me what you got. Never mind that album was a classic. Dude was good in American Gangsta soundtrack cause he had direction. He just don’t have much direction these days. When he got politcal in Open Letter it was like oh snap he bout to bring. Then we got a few sprinkly gems. Like Miley Cyrus still twerking. But other than that it was no creative thought provoking lines in the album. Dissing the internet yaaaaaaaaaawn. He talked about his old days, his daughter, fashion, money he got. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWN. I wanted Open letter. Muhammad Hovi on the ropes.

      • ItGoesDownINtheDM

your expectations are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy too high bro

      • Negro Peligro

Hey I’m not the only person that put it down. Its the feel of the album. Its just weak.

      • ItGoesDownINtheDM

hey i guess @ the end of the day he did set a bar by calling his album the holy grail lol ……

      • Negro Peligro

Touche. I don’t know its like critiquing Lebron. LOL. Like you be expecting this nigga to do Triple Doubles and lead the league in scoring and be the defense scorer of the year.

      • TheOnlyCoop

And a lot of people do like the album. I think what has happen with Jay is he’s advancing to fast for some people. No saying that to put anyone down.

      • ItGoesDownINtheDM

dude him talking about molly twerking is speaking on the state and welfare of the people in america this touches the political pole … you letting alot of stuff fly right over your head

      • Negro Peligro

Like I said that was dope. I get it he sold drugs had feens twerking his music still got Miley twerking.Like I said it was dope but most of the lines are average or not on topic.

      • ItGoesDownINtheDM

        ok i can dig it

    • Negro Peligro

Man you aint lied. I was feeling like on Crown. He was gonna rap in the middle of a whole bunch of Chicago Chief Keef 3 hunna dudes all over. LIl Jo Jo was gonna come back in the hologram BITCH WE CRACKING TRES.

I don’t know this album felt like Eddie Kendricks trying to lead the temptations on a funk album cause that’s what everybody doing.

      • Inmadopicouroz✓QUEENSᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Ocean was great, Part II idk nicca!

      • johnblacksad

I fux with Part II something heavy and i really usually don’t fcuk wit RnB like that… i love how B didn’t go high pitch… and it was a needed track on the album, just to switch up the mood real quick

Jay z is really my favorite living rapper and it hurts me to say that I have not picked up the album yet, I will though as soon as I am back in the states. All I know is I just seen the real Magna Carter in the British Library, Interested to see how he connects the dots thematically. Deep concept, I hope he does with it what I believe he can.

    • johnblacksad

Jay might be my favorite… living and dead! (along with Styles P maybe)

      • BulldogCG

love styles P myself, definitely dope. My affinity definitely lies with Tupac at number one, dead or alive, but I’m a cali born 80’s baby, raised in the 90’s. So i am biased, To me hip hop is so much about activism and impact, so that is why Tupac is my #1. but styles and Jay got that shit in spades and if I were to be honest with myself I would probably need to give Jay #1. He got impact, social consciousness, rhymes, consistency, and longetevity, Im just so used to giving Tupac #1, but he was really just getting started, Jay took that ish to another level. I do believe Pac would be a little more outspoken than Jay on social issues, Jay does it but he so cryptic that it misses the common man, who really needs those messages the most, but we all different, can ‘t really hold that against him. People should smarten up too.

  • brotha_man

nas need to hurry and drop an album to remind the masses

    • johnblacksad

was playing that Life is Good (again) yesterday… Nas really came through!
      He is the people’s champ!
