Drake Scoops Best International Artist Award At The Mobo Awards

DRAKE WINS BIG!!

(AllHipHop News) Craig David and Drake were among the big winners at the Mobo Awards in Glasgow, Scotland on Friday night (November 4).

David was named Best Male Act 16 years after he picked up his first Mobo trophy for Best Newcomer, and rapper Drake capped off his most successful year to date by landing the Best International Artist prize.

Other winners included jazz act Esperanza Spalding and Wiz Kid, but the talking point of the ceremony came when R&B trio WSTRN were mistakenly given someone else’s award.

The group was onstage accepting the Best Song honor when organizers revealed the trophy belonged to MC Abra Cadabra for his “Robbery” remix.

“Of the many worthy winners of Best Song, we deeply regret a mistake was made,” the event bosses said in a statement, blaming a “production error” for the embarrassing moment.

WSTRN didn’t go home empty handed, however – they picked up the Best Newcomer award.
