Janelle Monae Heading To T.V. In A New Sci-Fi Series

JANELLE MONAE LANDS TV ROLE!

(AllHipHop News) Singer Janelle Monae is heading back to TV to star in an episode of anthology series Philip K. Dick’s “Electric Dreams.”

The “Hidden Figures” actress will star alongside Juno Temple in an episode of the new sci-fi series, based on author Philip K. Dick’s short stories.

Monae and Temple will appear in an episode titled “Autofac,” which is set in a time after society collapses and humans must consume products to stay happy.

However, to be able to continue consuming products, humans are denied free will. A single factory that automatically manufactures the products is shut down by rebels.

Janelle will play “Autofac” representative Alexis, while Temple will portray rebel Emily. Jay Paulson and David Lyons will also star in the episode.

The series will feature 10 stand-alone episodes, with other previously-announced cast members including Timothy Spall, Anna Paquin, Terence Howard, Steve Buscemi, and Bryan Cranston, who also serves as an executive producer on the show.

Philip K. Dick’s “Electric Dreams” will air later this year on Channel 4 in the U.K. and on Amazon’s streaming service in the U.S.

Monae previously appeared on the small screen in an episode of animated series “American Dad.”
