Does Jaz-O Have Video Of Jay Z Getting Robbed?

jazo_home

Old beefs die hard. It seems like Jaz-O, Jay Z’s mentor and former rap partner, is not here for letting sleeping dogs lie. Jaz-O recently tweeted something fairly obscure, suggesting he had some video of Harlem street cats robbing Jay Z.

And that’s that.

Anybody know anything about this? I mean, what dudes walk around with a big ass camcorder and videotape this? It seems implausible to me, because it was so drastically different back in those days. The tweet was also, supposedly deleted afterward.

Scott Storch Lands A New Tech Deal For His Record Label

(AllHipHop News) Scott Storch is giving his studio and record label an overhaul in the technology department.

The hit making producer announced a new deal with Servers.com at the Game Developers Conference yesterday (March 18).

The new deal will allow Scott Storch to encrypt, save and secure productions and mixes of his finished and unfinished songs.

“I’m determined to drive my production company and recording label to the highest level of success, and partnerships with real professionals – like this one – is an important step in making sure that not only the core of our business – the music itself – but every its aspect is at the state-of-the-art level.” Scott Storch

Scott Storch hopes to avoid the fate of producers like Ryan Leslie, Kanye West and even Grandmaster Flash, all of whom have had their laptops stolen, with valuable music on it.

While particulars of the deal with Servers.com were not disclosed at the conference, Scott Storch has entered into a long-term agreement with the company.

It may just be the deal Storch needs to recover from a recent bankruptcy filing, as well as a lawsuit filed by disgruntled, former business partners, who were financing his studio and label.

Manny Pacquiao Banned For Anti-Gay Statements

In what marks an especially inauspicious start to boxer Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao’s (57-6-2, 38KOs) return to Los Angeles on Saturday, March 12th to train with longtime coach Freddie Roach for his farewell fight against Timothy “Desert Storm” Bradley Jr. (33-1-1, 13KOs), scheduled for April 9 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Pacquiao has been officially banned from the upscale outdoor mall in Los Angeles, California known as the Grove.  The official reason for the expulsion stems from more corporate backlash following homophobic statements Pacquiao made in his home country of the Philippines effectively comparing gays to animals by saying that they were “worse than animals” as a matter of “common sense,” during an appearance on the Filipino station TV5.

Well before this recent vote of no confidence from the Grove, already these statements had cost the fighter dearly both in terms of lost popularity and lost finances with NIKE dropping all contracts and ties to the superstar in late February immediately after his anti-gay statements with the public announcement that NIKE, “strongly opposes discrimination of any kind,”and found Pacquiao’s statements “abhorrent.”

This week’s official ruling came down from the Grove after Pacquiao took his entourage to see a movie at the Grove’s movie theater as a means of relaxation after training.  Per the Grove’s owner Rick Caruso via TMZ and The Los Angeles Times, Caruso stated unequivocally that: “Manny Pacquiao is no longer welcome,” at the Grove with Caruso adding, “A lot of people from the gay community come to the Grove and they have a right not to feel uncomfortable.”

It should be noted that in fact this is not the first time Pacquiao has been banned from the Grove – as per previous reports in the news and past tweets on the Grove’s official twitter page.  In 2012, Pacquiao was banned for a biblical verse that he quoted declaring homosexual acts to be punishable by death.

Whether one agrees or disagrees with the statements of Pacquiao, or the reaction of Caruso on behalf of the Grove, once again in this highly politicized and divisive national climate, the expulsion of an public figure from a fairly public (though privately owned) business certainly brings to mind hard questions pertaining to Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Religion, as Pacquiao bases his anti-gay beliefs on scripture as a devout Christian.  In any case, it will be interesting to see what happens next with Manny Pacquiao as well as the rest of our nation as we get closer and closer to the election of a new commander in chief.

#HipHop4Flint Live Streaming Events Nationwide

(AllHipHop News) As part of AllHipHop’s continual support of Flint and it’s water catastrophe,  AllHipHop has teamed up with #HipHop4Flint for an unprecedented event.

This Saturday, March 19th approximately 30 cities across the country will be live streaming events in support of Flint and it’s ongoing fight to battle lead poisoning and other diseases resulting from the contaminated water.

The event is being led by YoNasDa Lonewolf, emcee, published writer, and activist who focuses her work on human rights, indigenous rights, and social justice.

In 2014, while the city was under the control of a state appointment emergency manager, the city switched it’s water source from Lake Huron to the Flint River.

The city saw a sharp increase in lead levels that were well above the EPA’s standards of safety, exposing the city’s 9,000 children to water that was classified as toxic waste.

The city of Flint, MI is home to 100,000 residents, of which 40% are living in poverty, with an average income of $25,000.

Over the past few months several Hip-Hop artists have spoken out and supported Flint’s fight for clean water. Resources are limited and people in poverty need help for what is an essential human resource.

Most recently Big Sean reached the $100,000 mark in his efforts to provide kids with the proper care from doctors.

To help the citizens of Flint and in order raise awareness for other communities, #HipHop4Flint will be live streaming events in support of the cause.

From Atlanta to Chicago, and from Los Angeles to Washington D.C., #HipHop4Flint will be making an impact on communities across the country with events.

On March 22nd there will be a show in New York at SOB’s; on April 2nd there will be at show in Newark; and on April 9th #HipHop4Flint will host a block party and water filter giveaway in Flint, Michigan.

All of those participating are using the hashtag #HipHop4Flint in support of the event.

Several Hip-Hop acts, community leaders and celebs will be on site to help raise funds and change for the community

Obama Calls Out Trump And Protesters Alike As Bad Business

(AllHipHop News) With the troubling events that have happened during this volatile 2016 Presidential Race, it would seem that almost anything on a rapidly deteriorating common sense and decency scale is now possible.  As a race has included reference to a candidate’s penis size during an official debate, numerous incidents of recorded physical violence between different political factions at campaign rallies and one candidate for the Texas School Board of Education accusing the 44th commander and chief of the United States of covering up a past as a gay prostitute, it would seem that without much public resistance, things have slipped beneath a line that many would not have ever believed possible just four years prior.

Generally, lame duck presidents wisely keep out of the fray when it comes to the dirtier side of any campaign trail from which they can expect no foreseeable reward.   However, in the way that it behooves those with a conscience to try and calm things down at a house party that has taken a turn for the worse before the whole establishment gets burned down to the ground, president Barack Obama, without naming names and citing too much “silence”  from other elected leaders, had this to say that was pretty clearly aimed at GOP front runner Donald Trump and the tenor of his campaign: “We have heard vulgar and divisive rhetoric aimed at women and minorities and Americans who don’t look like us or pray like us or vote like we do, ” said Obama, adding: ” Too often we’ve accepted this as somehow the new normal, and it’s worth asking ourselves what each of us may have done to contribute to this kind of vicious atmosphere in our politics.”

Avoiding the misstep of faulting only one side of the equation and taking things further with regards to a divided nation’s thorough self examination, during that same press conference on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, POTUS was equally critical of groups who in their zeal to discount and disrupt these rallies had unwittingly trampled the tenets of free speech in promoting causes such as #BlackLivesMatter, #immigrationreform and other more inclusive sociopolitical views : “We’ve seen misguided attempts to shut down that speech,” Obama said of these protesters and some of their more aggressive actions during Donald Trump’s acutely polarized political rallies, continuing: ” However offensive it may be, we live in a country where free speech is one of the most important rights that we hold.”

As to why Mr. Obama felt the need to hold forth at this moment in time on the issue of the specific path this nation is taking towards the election of it’s new president, the motivation would seem to be firmly rooted in where the country is headed versus raw politics: ” While some may be more to blame than others for the current climate, all of us are responsible for reversing it,” Mr. Obama stated of where things currently stand on the campaign trail, concluding in warning: ” It is a cycle that is not an accurate reflection of America, and it has to stop – and I say this not because it is a matter of political correctness.  It’s about the way that the corrosive behavior can undermine our democracy and our society and even our economy.”

Yes, indeed – the disease that hits one branch of the tree can grow to infect all the roots should the scourge be left unabated and untreated.  In that vein, it might well prove prudent to follow this two term president’s advice and be mindful that in trying to find our next leader we as a nation don’t allow the rhetoric alone to burn down the whole house in the process.

Don’t Dab N Drive: Offset Of The Migos Released From Jail After Driving Troubles

(AllHipHop News)  Offset, one-third of The Migos, was released from jail today.

Failing to pay an originally issued ticket for$171, the Atlanta rapper was arrested and detained for not paying the ticket and the subsequent fines, that resulted in $316 in fees and violations for driving with a suspended license according to TMZ.

After missing the court date and failing to pay the fine, Offset was detained yesterday.

Apparently the rapper was under the impression the ticket had been handled after he served 8 months for drugs and weapons charges according to a recent Fader article quoting his lawyer.

According to that article, this violation will not affect Offset’s 5 year probation that was issued after he was released just 3 months ago.

Upon his release Offset posted the following image on IG below with the following caption, “SOLID.”

Justin Bieber, Diplo And Skrillex Blamed For EDM’s Downfall Ahead Of Miami’s Ultra Music Festival

(AllHipHop News)  With EDM taking the world by storm over the past few years, it was nearly impossible for Hip-Hop to avoid getting influenced by the sped up beats per minute and varied beat patterns of the dance music world.

One listen to Nicki’s “Truffle Butter” ft Drake and Lil Wayne and you can hear the influence of Maya Jane Cole’s EDM/House music classic, “What They Say.”

But, as the famed Ultra Music Festival in Miami gets ready to kick off tomorrow with sold out venues across South Beach, a scathing new Miami Herald article paints a much different picture of the EDM world and it’s undercurrents.

In particular the story took aim at a host of popular DJs like Diplo and Skrillex who have “dominated” the performance circuit, “leading to repeat appearances and fan burnout.”

In addition to”fan burnout,” the article points at popular EDM venues closing like Miami’s Mansion.  Reportedly the club booked Afrojack for a one-night rate of $150,000 and failed to break even. Later the club would close after 11 years of business.

The rate isn’t uncommon though as some DJ’s like Calvin Harris (who is dating the Kanye the favorite Taylor Swift) makes “$400,000 at a luxurious Las Vegas nightclub such as Omnia in Caesar’s Palace.”

Other elite acts reportedly make an upwards of $200,000 to $250,000, which in turn is blamed for rising ticket costs that the core consumer can’t afford.

To add to the high ticket prices and repeat performances of big names, the article says that some EDM fans aren’t too happy with the fact EDM has become “central to mainstream pop,” like in the case of the RIAA Platinum song “Where Are Ü Now,” produced by Diplo and Skrillex for Justin Bieber.

Is all the finger pointing warranted? A quick glance at both Skrillex and Diplo’s Instagram pages would tell you otherwise.

Skillex is well known for his work with ASAP Rocky among others in the Hip-Hop world, but has received Gold or Platinum honors on more than 10 records in his career as a solo act.

As a solo act Diplo has produced for a T.I., 2 Chainz and M.I.A. to name a few. He is also the founder and manager of his Mad Decent imprint.

As a lead member of Major Lazer, Diplo and his crew hit the top of the charts with their hit “Lean On” ft Mo and DJ Snake.

Major Lazer also had success their song “Bubble Butt” that went RIAA Gold and featured Bruno Mars, 2 Chainz, Tyga and Mystic.

No comment from Diplo or Skrillex at the time of print.

Afeni Shakur’s Soon-To-Be Ex-Husband Is After Tupac’s Money!

Tupac Shakur’s mother, Afeni Shakur, is getting divorced and according to TMZ her husband Gust Davis wants half of Tupac’s money! The couple was married for twelve years, but they never decided to get a prenup. Because Afeni filed in North Carolina, judges aren’t required to divide everything 50/50. They determine what’s fair by using a case-by-case basis. Davis’ wants may be a bit much!

Davis, who isn’t even Tupac’s father, wants the right to live on their North Carolina ranch, ownership of their houseboats, and the Jaguar that they bought. Tupac’s property makes roughly around $900k a year, but after expenses Afeni only sees about $20k a month. Oh yeah, Davis wants at least $10K of that along with alimony. What are your thoughts?

Yo Gotti’s Former Artist Puts Him On Blast

Yo Gotti is certainly having a drama filled week. As if the beef between him and Young Dolph wasn’t enough, one of Gotti’s former artists, @Miss.Sylver, decided to put him on blast. Sylver was pursing a rap career at one time, but now it seems that she has put all of her time and attention into the beauty industry. Interestingly enough, she was once linked to Waka Flocka, and she is the same woman that allegedly caused Lil’ Wayne and Christina Milian to break up. When Sylver was under Yo Gotti they allegedly messed around, and now she has decided to open up and join Dolph with calling Yo Gotti fake. She took to her Instagram to say,

“I swear I been waiting on this day for a mafucka to expose him for who he really is… So many people done asked me why I don’t f*ck with Gotti and why I ain’t CMG different blogs reached out and I never spoke on it cause I’m better than that sh*t and always had my own ???! Will Kanye West’s First Clothing Line Make A Comeback

Before Kanye West’s Yeezy Season collection, the rapper had his PASTELLE clothing brand that never really got a chance to hit the market back in 2009. It looks like Ian Connor may be hinting at the brand making a comeback. Connor unleashed a series of meaningful tweets hinting that he’s working on reviving Kanye West’s abandoned line. Will you be wearing PASTELLE?

Desiigner Was A Show/No Snow At SXSW!

Last night in Austin TX…a lot of people got disappointed. OK, maybe not a lot, but a few. Now, a lot of this story cannot be told, because there are personal relationships involved. But, there was a club that Desiigner was supposed to play at. The kid has the hot song out about a panda and people wanna see him dance. Plus he’s the closest thing to Future out there. What happens? Desiigner and his crew come to the venue at SXSW and it’s a bit weird because the club was acting funny at the door. The venue was not really letting people in on some hate stuff so the house was not packed. The kid Trevor Jackson tore it down though and really set the stage up right for D to do his thing. Eventually, after much negotiation, Desiigner refused to do his single song, “Panda” for fans that basically waited all night to see him. Fortunately the rest of the evening’s performers were pretty good. He was right there…

Some folks are not happy…

Gene Simmons of Kiss Trashes Rap, Talib Kweli Fires Back

(AllHipHop News) Gene Simmons has been a long critic of Hip-Hop, but now he has stated that he wishes for the complete death of the genre.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, the front man of antiquated rock band Kiss takes aim at rap again.

“I am looking forward to the death of Rap. I’m looking forward to music coming back to lyrics and melody, instead of just talking, “ said the 66-year old. “A song, as far as I’m concerned, is by definition lyric and melody … or just melody.”

Simmons stated he felt rap will cease to exist in about 10 years.

“Rap will die. Next year, 10 years from now, at some point, and then something else will come along. And all that is good and healthy,” he said.

Later in the interview, he seemingly pigeon-holed all rap music into the “gangsta rap” category.

“I don’t have the cultural background to appreciate being a gangster. Of course that’s not what it’s all about, but that’s where it comes from. That’s the heart and soul of it. It came from the streets,” he concluded.

The remarks did not get past emcee Talib Kweli.

“Would it be unfair of me to say I’m looking forward to the death or nah? Chuck Berry s#### on Kiss,” the Brooklyn rapper stated. Screen Shot 2016-03-18 at 10.04.23 AM

EXCLUSIVE: Katt Williams Being Sued By Hollywood Actress, Accused Of Torture, Sorcery And Spells

(AllHipHop News) It’s been a rough few weeks for Katt Williams. Now the Pimp Chronicles comedian has been sued by a Hollywood actress for “torturing” her, using sorcery and spells.

Since recently ordering the assault of his bodyguard, Katt has remained behind bars, despite being granted bond.

Now this newest claim may add another ripple to his legal issues as Katt is accused of intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligent infliction of emotional distress, battery, assault, false imprisonment and negligence.

This all reportedly happened at Katt’s house upon a Ms. Jamila Majesty’s arrival.

According to the claim, upon her arrival she was “imprisoned in Williams bathroom where she was repeatedly beaten and tortured by Williams and four or five of his female companions for three hours.

Jamila Majesty’s testimonial in Exhibit B (see below) is a telling series of events IF true. Some excerpts appear below:

“This one was [female] wearing a short black mini dress with her head garment and was taking chocolate chip cookies out from the oven.  Katt offered me cookies. I refused. Katt was smoking a Newport cigarette from the time I first arrived throughout.”

“Katt escorted me to a room that I’m assuming is the master bedroom…The room had a fire going and an older dark (probably Jamaican) woman inside the room sitting in the chair nearest the entry door. The television was on and there were hair dryers and tools for the hair spread out on the bed. She was Katt’s hairdresser, I do not remember her name”

“I sat on the bed sometimes too alone. There was a book on the bed that I opened for a glance and am assuming was a Wiccan book, something evil, with the teachings on sorcery and spells. The fire was fed with unusual things for a fire, I’m not sure what but my intuition picked up on it and the fire smelled of sweetness more so than a normal fire.”

“I was beat predominantly in my face until I fell to my knees and my blood was everywhere”

“I got in my car and that was right before 1:30am. I know the beating started at 10:30 pm. I was beat for three hours straight.

“Katt was very delighted at me falling to my knees looking at it as a form of me bowing to him.”

Quotes aside, Jamila Majesty says in her testimonial that Katt knew her from her work with Ludacris.  According to Imdb, com Jamila Majesty is known for her work on Payday (2015),Love: As You Like It (2012) and Husky (2012).

Check out images of the lawsuit below, including images of Jamila Majesty after her beating. Below is a picture from Imdb.com.

Eminem Said To Be A Descendent Of 9th Century King

(AllHipHop News) As a youngster Eminem aka Marshall Bruce Mathers had it tough, well documented in movies like 8 Mile and other visuals from his albums like the Slim Shady LP.

But, while Em grew up tough on the trailer parks and has the classic rags to riches story, Eminem’s ancestor was a 9th century Welsh King according to walesonline.co.uk.

Rhodri the Great is often referred to as “King of Wales” and fought against Vikings and Saxons.

Marshall’s ancestor Rhodri the Great was a king, but everything wasn’t lovely as he spent most of his life fighting in battle, and is said to have died during a Saxon invasion.

Rhodri the great

According to the online publication there are approximately, “12 centuries, 32 generations and four thousand miles between them,” but nevertheless its proven to be true based on information uncovered stating the following.

“Records on US family history site Geni show Eminem linked to leading US families before his lineage goes back to iconic figures in Welsh history like Hywel Dda and Rhodri Mawr.” – walesonline.co.uk

This past week Eminem rocked Lollapalooza as you can see in the video below.
