Over the weekend 16 of the best B-boys in the world came together to compete in the Red Bull BC One World Finals, as dancers battled each other in an intense competition held in Paris.
After multiple rounds of one-on-one battles it was finally Menno of the Netherlands that claimed the crown, taking the throne as the new Red Bull BC One World Champion; his fourth time competing and first championship win.
With over 50 countries represented, the U.S. was repped by current National Champion Victor Montalvo (Orlando,) 2013 National Champion Gravity (Brooklyn) and Wild Card contestant Thesis (Tucson.) U.S. judges included Luigi and Ken Swift.
Swift explains their decision:
“If you master your style you can win. It’s not about old and new styles, it’s about mastering your movement, and that’s what Menno did in the end. Menno is an evolved B-Boy. He’s done his homework and his research. He knows this art form. He’s been paying his dues for a while, and I think he deserves this win.”
Creativity and originality ruled the night, as the best B-Boys in the game took the stage to showcase their individual skill and performance style in front of the sold-out crowd inside France’s La Grande Halle de La Villette.
“I travel the floor with unpredictable movements. I try to misguide people. I try to trick people with creativity. And I try to fish from different waters than other B-Boys,” explains the newly crowned Menno.

Now Lil Wayne’s manager, who is also an exec Prince’s company Cortez Bryant lawyer says that his client only signed off on the documents because he was afraid for his life.
TheJasmineBrand reports:
“In the court documents, the lawyer explains that a deal was agreed upon by all parties but then a year later out of the blue, Jas showed up to where Cortez was and presented a new deal that he drafted by himself, which gave him more money from Drake’s music.
Cortez’s lawyer explains, my clients called in fear of their lives. The docs claim that Prince chased them around the table with a gun and threatened to kill them if they didn’t sign the new agreement. He goes on to say Cortez didn’t call the police because he feared for his life and he just signed the document.”

A few weeks after a beatdown and they’re back at it, at least according to Instagram.
Over the Thanksgiving holiday Love and Hip-Hop Hollywood’s Yung Berg and Masika posted pics lying in bed together as well as in the studio. Berg later deleted his pics but Masika’s remain posted. Berg is supposedly working on tracks for Masika.

In the weeks following the initial shooting of Michael Brown, many within the international community called into question the amount of militarization that has occurred amongst many police forces across the country, as became evident as the Ferguson Police Department infamously met protesters with armored tanks, tear gas and assault weapons.
Now President Obama is expected to sign an executive order which will require all agencies receiving military-style equipment be trained on how to properly use the gear. To date, more than 460,000 weapons have already been distributed to local law enforcement agencies throughout the country.
Also included in that order is the implementation of body cameras, as the White House has pledged an additional $75 million in federal funds to equip over 50, 000 officers with body cameras; an issue that the parents of Brown have been fighting for since his death in early August.
According to Obama, “There is a big difference between our military and our local law enforcement and we don’t want those lines blurred.”
The city of Ferguson has officially severed ties with officer Darren Wilson. Over the weekend, the officer who shot and killed unarmed teen Michael Brown resigned from the police force. When Wilson resigned he was not given a severance package, which includes any further pay and benefits, from the city.
Wilson, who had been with the Ferguson Police Department for three years, decided to part ways with the force after people had threatened to become violent towards the police department.
“The information we had was that there would be actions targeting the Ferguson (police) department or buildings in Ferguson related to the police department,” said Neil Bruntragerm who is Wilson’s lawyer.
A grand jury decided last week to not indict Wilson for shooting and killing Michael Brown on Aug. 9th. Though there will not be an indictment, the U.S. Department of Justice is conducting a civil rights investigation regarding the incident and is also investigating the police department’s practices.

(AllHipHop News) Queensbridge representatives and longtime friends Nature and Prodigy have decided to transfer their personal relationship into a business partnership. AllHipHop.com exclusively reports that Nature has signed to Prodigy’s Infamous Records for a multiple album deal. The first solo LP under the new arrangement is scheduled for release in 2015.
“I’m excited we made this deal happen. I’m even more excited for the fans of Queensbridge Hip Hop,” says Nature. “We came up together. Mobb Deep has always been my people and this deal makes sense. Infamous and DCM 2015, we going in!”
This will be Nature’s first full length album since 2008’s Pain Killer. The New York native did drop the EP series Seasons Changed in 2013 under independent label Deep Concepts Media (DCM). Prior to that, Nature was also part of the Hip Hop supergroup The Firm with Nas, Foxy Brown, and AZ. The Dr. Dre produced collective released their only LP, The Firm: The Album, in 1997.
“Me and Nature have been down with each other for years, and it was only a matter of time before we got together on some serious business stuff. The time has come. Expect the best,” states Prodigy.
Infamous Records recently released projects by Prodigy & Boogz Boogetz, and Sam Scarfo & Ski Beatz. The label’s discography also includes the Prodigy/The Alchemist 2013 collaborative effort Albert Einstein and Mobb Deep’s 2014 reunion album The Infamous Mobb Deep.
Now that Ray Rice has been reinstated into the NFL after being dropped from the Baltimore Ravens, his wife Janay Rice is speaking out on TheToday Show with Matt Lauer. Sitting alongside her mother, Janay spoke about what her life has been like since the elevator footage of her being punched and dragged by her now-husband was released and struggling to deal with the ridicule thrown at her by the media and fans.
Prior to the incident in the elevator, where Janay says they were “high intoxicated,” she says there was never any domestic violence in their relationship.
“There’s no way. He knows what he would have to deal with. I’m not going to sit there in silence and let something happen to me, God forbid in front of my child, and just let it happen? There’s no way.”
Janay’s mother, Candy Palmer, said that she felt “sick” when she saw the footage of Ray Rice knocking her daughter out cold. She said she was very upset when she saw that he left her on the floor and didn’t show any concern for her as she laid unconscious.
“I basically told him that I didn’t care who was out there at the elevator, you should have never left her out there like that.”
Janay also said that she was not pleased with the way the NFL and the fans reacted to the second video being released, which she says she has never seen.
“I was so angry, hurt [to] seeing the man that I love, have everything ripped up from under him,” she said as she wiped away tears. “We had to pick and our child from where she’s used to…it hurt.”
Watch the interview below. Tomorrow (Dec. 2) Matt Lauer will sit down with Ray Rice and get his side of the story.

Power 105.1’s Charlamagne is never one to bite his tongue, so when Karrueche tweeted, “Looks like I’m a single lady again,” he replied, “One day he will spend the holidays with you. Keep the faith.”
Obviously offended and fed up her manager Jacob York jumped in to save the day.
York says the BK in him wouldn’t let Charlamagne disrespect his client. Was he being petty or should he let it go?
