Don Lemon Still Facing Criticism Following Interview With Cosby Accuser

CNN journalist Don Lemon is still under fire after an interview with Joan Tarshis, one of Bill Cosby’s rape accusersin which Lemon clumsily questioned whether the alleged victim did enough to prevent being raped and inquired why she did not “use her teeth” as a method to prevent Cosby from allegedly forcing her to perform oral sex.

Speaking to People Magazine Tarshis explained “I was kinda shocked and then a part of me thought, ‘Damn, why didn’t I think of that?’ I was just so surprised because at first because I didn’t know what he meant when he said, ‘There are other ways of dealing with this.’ … I became flustered.”

Lemon, who admits that he was sexually abused as a child, issued an apology on Wednesday stating, “As I am a victim myself I would never want to suggest that any victim could have prevented a rape. If my question to her struck anyone as insensitive, I am sorry as that is certainly and was not my intention.”

Read a portion of the original interview or watch below:

LEMON: Can I ask you this, because — and please, I don’t mean to be crude, OK?

TARSHIS: Yeah.

LEMON: Because I know some of you — and you said this last night, that he — you lied to him and said “I have an infection, and if you rape me, or if you do — if you have intercourse with me, then you will probably get it and give it to your wife.”

TARSHIS: Right.

LEMON: And you said he made you perform oral sex.

TARSHIS: Right.

LEMON: You — you know, there are ways not to perform oral sex if you didn’t want to do it.

TARSHIS: Oh. Um, I was kind of stoned at the time, and quite honestly, that didn’t even enter my mind. Now I wish it would have.

LEMON: Right. Meaning the using of the teeth, right?

TARSHIS: Yes, that’s what I’m thinking you’re —

LEMON: As a weapon.

TARSHIS: Yeah, I didn’t even think of it.

LEMON: Biting. So, um —

TARSHIS: Ouch.

LEMON: Yes. I had to ask. I mean, it is, yeah.

TARSHIS: Yes. No, it didn’t cross my mind.

Can 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1' Live Up to It's Own Soundtrack's Hype?

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 hits theaters this weekend and is likely to be the box office’s biggest seller as the official trailer has over 17 million views online already. But how will Mockingjay Part 1 stack up against the other movies in the series? How will audiences receive the movie compared to the book? So far the soundtrack has been one of the hottest albums online for weeks as artists seemed to clamor for the opportunity to be on the soundtrack.

It should be noted that this soundtrack for the movie has been just as widely reviewed as the movie itself.   The soundtrack has a heavy hitting lineup featuring Kanye West, Lorde, Pusha T, Q-Tip, HAIM, Major Lazer, Ariana Grande, Raury, Tinashe, Miguel and many more.

Let’s get it right, this movie will be a smash hit this holiday season further asserting Jennifer Lawrence’s abilities as a dynamic actress capable of tackling a range of emotions and moods. But, Mockingjay also gives other characters like, Elizabeth Banks (Effie), Jeffrey Wright (Beete) and the late Phillip Seymour Hoffman time to shine as well. While Woody Harrelson and Donald Sutherland also play noticeable roles adding texture to an already dynamic cast.

As a whole this is a great movie almost simply for the plot, that should empower viewers to voice their opinion and take part in the role of the government and their organizations. This movie really shows how far a dictator or leader could go in a fictitious world, or real world to control the power. Its amazing what one person can do when they control all the power and subjects the citizens to their rule by fear.

Katniss is in a game of chess with President Rose and this movie gives you a front and center view of the civil war that is taking place in the movie.  There are a lot of parallels that you can draw to real life civil war and the tactics that villainous leaders choose to implement by controlling with fear and weaponry.

Similar to in the movie, younger viewers will likely want to go out and get a bow and arrow to start their own revolution – it is inspiring if you believe in that sort of thing.  Its got suspense, love, triumph, tragedy and action for the older crowd, but it also has a lot of “I’m going crazy” moments as Jennifer Lawrence’s character is recovering from the shock of the second Hunger Games and the love lost with Peeta who is in captivity at the Capitol.

It builds on the previous movies nicely making it a solid bridge to the next movie, Part 2, which is currently in post production and due out next November. All audiences will find the battle of good and evil captivating as you find yourself despising white roses and the very establishment that is the Capitol and President Rose, similar to the white armored republic commando army in Star Wars.

While this movie does tackle ethical issues and the common battle between good and evil often found in movies like Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Twilight and Avatar, there are some cheesy moments in the movie, like when Prim goes back to get her cat amidst a bombing? C’mon son…  BUT, the film is clearly designed for a wide range of audiences, so its to be expected that there will be moments tailored for younger audiences.  Remember its PG-13 so basically 8 year olds will probably get to see this, so I’m not totally mad they decided to tone it down a bit in some scenes.

Check the trailer and listen to some of the soundtrack below, Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1 hits theaters Friday (Nov. 21st).  Def go out to see it and comment below! Let the odds be with you!

Drumma Boy Addresses Possible Court Case & Copycat Producers

(AllHipHop News) Producer Drumma Boy burst on the music scene by crafting tracks for rap stars like Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz, Waka Flocka, Juicy J, Rick Ross, T.I., and many others. But it was a recent song Drumma made with Jeezy that has a Wisconsin rapper named Big Chris crying foul.

Chris reportedly filed a lawsuit against Jeezy claiming the Atlanta native’s Seen It All: The Autobiography cut “Me OK” was a rip off of his own song “13 shots.”

Drumma was the man behind the boards for “Me Ok,” and the Drum Squad leader wants the public to know he did not steal anything. Drumma connected with DJ Smallz Eyes to talk about his own copycat producers as well as accusations he has bitten beats.

“The fraudulent accounts are always pointed out at some point in fashion. So you can be with the fraud s**t. You can imitate, you can copy styles, and claim that you make these motherf**king beats that you know you didn’t make because I made,” said Drumma. “All these different claims and disputes and s**t, bring that s**t on. You know who f**king made what. If we ever go to court, you’ll see what the f**king results are.”

The wait is finally almost over and the release date is locked and loaded. After discovering my birthday falls on a Tuesday (the day of the week all albums drop) next year I decided to save the album drop for then (1.20.15). I thought it was the best time to cause a shift. Benzino Reportedly Fired From "Love & Hip Hop Atlanta" For Issuing Death Threats

(AllHipHop News) The reality show battle between former best friends Stevie J and Benzino apparently got so bad that VH1 had to fire Zino from Love & Hip Hop Atlanta. At least that is the story Stevie J told TMZ. The music producer claims the network had to let Benzino go because he threatened to harm Stevie, co-star Joseline Hernandez, producers, and staffers.

[ALSO READ: Benzino And Althea Eaton Kicked Off Of ‘Love And Hip-Hop: Atlanta’]

“He said flat out he was going to kill us,” Stevie told the website.

It was announced that Benzino and his fiancee’ Althea Eaton were issued pink slips last month. The co-founder of The Source stated at the time he felt the show’s production team was merely taking the side of Stevie and Joseline. Benzino doubled down on that speculation with TMZ.

“Stevie J is a habitual liar and VH1 has never given me a reason for being fired,” Benzino stated. “They wanted to keep the crackhead w####.”

Both couples were involved in huge a melee during the taping of the reunion show earlier this year. The fight was partially sparked because Benzino and Althea made references to Stevie and Joseline being on drugs. Their ongoing feud was a main storyline during season three of the series.

Nicki Minaj Responds To "Anaconda" Criticism + Explains Why She Didn't Address "Lookin Ass" Controversy

(AllHipHop News) Nicki Minaj has become one of the most polarizing figures in pop culture. The Young Money rapper’s dedicated fan base of Barbz will ride hard for Nicki, but at the same time there are just as many critics that have plenty to say about her skills as a rapper, blatant sexual content, and use of historic imagery. It was two Minaj songs released in 2014 that gained significant negative attention – “Anaconda” and “Lookin Ass N***ga.”

[ALSO READ: Taylor Swift Defends Nicki Minaj & Iggy Azalea As Songwriters]

Some listeners trashed the single “Anaconda” for what they felt were elementary lyrics, while others took issue with Minaj’s decision to flaunt her semi-nude body on the cover art and in the video. AllHipHop.com owner Chuck Creekmur even published an open letter about the cover directed at Nicki for Madamenoire.

“Lookin Ass N***a” caught heat for what some saw as an unreasonable attack on men. Nicki’s was also criticized for artwork she promoted with the song that featured a famous photo of Malcolm X.

In an interview with Complex, The Pinkprint album creator discussed her work, the public response to the music, and how she handled the backlash.

On what she wanted to accomplish with “Anaconda”:

I wanted to create a song that embraced curvy women. I wanted to be sexual but be playful with it. And I wanted it to be so melodic that even if you don’t understand English you could still go along with the melody and you would have no idea about all the raunchy s### I’m saying—I get a kick out of that. It was simple to write. I just created the melody and then I let the words happen. I started laughing when I said, “Boy toy named Troy.” [Laughs.] That whole song, I was just being dumb. It was a joke. My biggest thing was seeing how my girlfriends Sherika and Thembi were going to react. If they don’t like a song, they’ll be like, “No.” As soon as they walked in the studio, we were laughing and having fun. I thought, if we’re doing this, then everybody is going to have fun with it.

On Creekmur’s letter:

“Shut your stupid ass up. Bye, dad.” I laughed at it. But I also didn’t even know that that was happening.

On blogs writing about her:

I’m not on blogs, so I didn’t know. People see me retweet stuff and they think I’m some Internet person but I’m not. A lot of times, with the controversy surrounding “Lookin’ Ass,” for example, I didn’t know anything about it until it was so late it would’ve been crazy for me to address it. Every now and then, people in my circle will say, “Did you know blah blah blah?” People on my team know I don’t want to hear any drama. I don’t want any negativity. I don’t want to hear what’s on the blog. I don’t care.

Billboard To Begin Counting Streaming For Album Chart

(AllHipHop News) The Billboard 200 chart has served as the official authority for the weekly album rankings in the United States since 1956. In 1991, the magazine began listing the top-selling LPs in the nation based off Nielsen SoundScan sales numbers. The New York Times reports Billboard and Soundscan will start adding streaming numbers to the total album sales as well.

[ALSO READ: Eminem Is Now The Second Highest Selling Male Artist Of The SoundScan Era]

The significant public shift away from purchasing albums to streaming played a role in the decision to alter the way the album chart is calculated. Every 1,500 streams on services like Spotify, Beats Music, Rdio, Rhapsody, and Google Play will now equal 1 album sale. The rankings on the Billboard 200 will also include “track equivalent albums” meaning 10 downloads of individual tracks will add up to one album.

“Album sales have become a smaller and smaller part of the industry,” said Nielson senior analyst David Bakula. “To just look at album sales and say this is how we measure success is really leaving out that half of the business that is coming from streams and song sales.”

The same way CDs overtook vinyls/cassettes and then digital downloads overtook CDs, the marketplace is changing once again. According to Nielson, streaming grew by 42% in the first half of this year, and album sales dropped by 15%.

There was major media attention placed on the fact that until Taylor Swift’s 1989 broke the 1.2 million units mark in October, no other album sold over 1 million copies in 2014. Ironically, Swift also recently pulled all of her albums from Spotify.

So far it has been a down year for Hip Hop album sales. While Schoolboy Q, Rick Ross, Wiz Khalifa, and Lecrae have all landed in the top spot on the album chart, zero rap LPs have reached platinum status.

The new Billboard 200 album chart will be published online on December 4.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Migos Killed?

Well, this was a startling rumor when I woke up. Migos was rumored to be slain at a gas station in Atlanta. This isn’t true. Seems like the boy Quavo Of Migos has some bad omen surrounding him, but he responded “The only resting I’m doing is in my mansion.” I think that pretty much says it all. However, peep the video below if you want to see more tweets and malarkey.
