Hip-Hop Rumors: G.O.O.D. Music Gets Great Release Date!?!

Look like the summer is going to get a lil’ hotter right when its supposed to! July, go to hell!!! June, you are weak! The good people at G.O.O.D. are looking to release their compilation album on August 7. The boy Pusha T let it be known on Hot 97 just tonight and revealed that which we all wanted to know. Release dates are funny, but I thought I’d run this until the news section caught up.

I wonder if Kim K will make an appearance? OK, I’m not really wondering that.

You know, while I am here, I may has well tell you that people are chattering about Kanye and Jay-Z “going their separate ways.” I don’t believe it, but it seems to be rooted in these couple shows that Kanye is doing in Atlantic City, NJ. Click here to read up on that story.

Also, G.O.O.D. Music is going to be playing at the BET Awards! Read that as well.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Was Rodney King Murdered? – Plus illseed Quickies!

I have not been keeping up with what is going on these days with the sad, tragic death of Rodney King, but there are rumors coming out of that house. They are speculating that the man that said weepingly, “Can’t we all just get along,” may have been murdered.

According to witnesses, Rodney and his fiancee were having a fight, and he threatened to leave her. Later in the night, they heard him crying and sobbing uncontrollably, then complete silence. THEN A SPLASH! They said she kept trying to get him to come in the house, and he didn’t comply.

On the positive side, if there is one, King didn’t seem to have any sort of foul play surrounding his death. Also, they say he did like to swim late nights. So, maybe there is some truth to the fact that he may have just be a bit tipsy and drowned. Bad stuff all across the board.

Illseed’s Quickies

Rumors are swirling that Tim Dog may have juxed people trying to book Mary J. and Nas, too. Just saying…not suggesting it’s true.

Halle Berry has to pay her ex like $250K in child support per year! She may want to split custody or something! WHOA!

The Octomon has been forced to do p### to save herself from financial ruin. Hoping she can just do something else, because all her kids are going to see her online doing p### when they start surfing the net for p###. DAMN!

Oh no! Another ’90s rapper is suffering from health ailments. Damn shame I cannot say who. More later. I think.

Hip-Hop Rumors Exclusive: Is Mobb Deep Filing A Million Dollar Lawsuit Against Milkcrate Athletics?

There are rumors that a million dollar lawsuit is in the works against Aaron Lacrate of Milkcrate Athletics for bootlegging Mobb Deep’s trademark brand name on their shirts. Apparently the duo agreed to a small promo of one tee, and Aaron pulled “a scum bag move” and began producing numerous shirts with the Mobb Deep logo and image.

Milkcrate Athletics is not authorized to sell Mobb Deep or Infamous T-shirts, but has allegedly been making it seem like Mobb Deep is under a full endorsement deal with them. Insiders told us exclusively that Mobb Deep in no way supports this” tacky crumb and his wack tee-shirts.”

The crew is allegedly urging fans and retailers not to support the T-shirts, either.

Buggs Tha Rocka: Strange Is Cool [BGA]

There are some artists who are able to function in the industry as a “Jack of All Trades,” playing different roles with ease, all while putting out quality music. Biggs is one of those artists. Both a solo act, as well as a member of an immensely popular band called “Gold Shoes” in his hometown, for Buggs, it’s about being able to excel in all avenues of music. In short, whichever lane he chooses to drive in he makes sure that it is done well.

Hailing from Cincinnati, Ohio; it is a state that Kid Cudi, Chip the Ripper, and Stalley, some of which he has shared a stage with, call home. Buggs has quietly been paying his dues to land his name on that list as well; releasing acclaimed tracks and landing features and tours with some of the hottest cats out right now. Now poised and ready with a new release that could potentially elevate his career, he sat down with us to discuss both his progression as well as what the future holds.

AllHipHop.com: At 27 you’ve already been in the game since your early 20s; was there ever another path that you considered?

Buggs Tha Rocka: I attended Central State University and pursued a degree in Business for a period of time, but music just kept calling me. It’s hard to balance it when people want you to travel, to be out there, to put your music out there. Music won.

AllHipHop.com: Most people first became familiar with you with the release of the critically acclaimed Hip Hop Supa Hero in 2009, which led to even more buzz with 2010’s Mutant Level 5. How did you feel about the reception you received?

Buggs Tha Rocka: “Mutant” had all original music and it was really that “break out” mixtape that I needed to give me added credibility. I got to collab with Freeway, Lil Brother, etc. and it brought more shows. I got the chance to share the stage with artists like Jeezy, Big Sean, The Cool Kids, Wiz, John Mayer, Method Man and Redman, Stalley. It was dope.

AllHipHop.com: You followed that with Lost Luggage in 2011, but it was a departure from the mixtapes that came before it, exactly how did it come about?

Buggs Tha Rocka: I wasn’t completely happy with that project. My hard drive crashed and I lost a lot of material that I had been working on. We were able to recover some of it, but it was put together as a “concept project” of sorts, the name itself symbolizing the material or “luggage” that had been lost and later found. Not getting the response that I wanted along with personal issues is what led to a slight break in music for me last year.

AllHipHop.com: Not everybody knows that you’re also in a band that was created in 2009. Does that have any effect on your career as a solo artist?

Buggs Tha Rocka: The group that I’m in Gold Shoes, was actually individual artists coming together to form a band. It’s different from what I do on my own. On my own I’m a rapper, but the group mixes hip hop and jazz. So for them you get to hear me sing as well. That’s actually the reason that I’m still in Ohio, I’ve thought about moving but for now I’m dividing my attention between my career as well as the band’s.

AllHipHop.com: In between projects, what were you involved in?

Buggs Tha Rocka: I actually got to go on the Midwest portion of Talib Kweli and Mos Def’s “Prisoner of Conscious” tour. I’ve come into contact with a lot of other artists just while I’ve been coming up and they all treat me like a little brother of sorts. It was a great experience.

AllHipHop.com: So now that you’ve had a chance to step away, collect yourself, and now you’re returning with the Wrath of Zeus. How does this project differ from your past releases? What exactly can we expect?

Buggs Tha Rocka: The Wrath of Zeus casts me as Zeus. It’s paying homage to the Gods (of Hip Hop) that came before me. I make music that I actually would want to hear. It’s a return to the Hip Hop that we grew up on. The idea is that “Zeus” is returning the game to what it once was. Good music.

AllHipHop.com: Ok, ok I see you with the Greek mythology. Can we expect any features like we saw on “Mutant?”

Buggs Tha Rocka: I actually don’t have any features this time. I feel like on a classic project they need to be able to hear you. I didn’t want to crowd it with features this time. I need you to feel me. I don’t want to be played strictly off of who I’m cool with that I can get to jump on a track with me. I love music that comes from the heart, that comes from the soul; and can’t nobody tell my story better than me.

Hear him tell it by staying in contact with him: @rockaboy

Meek Mill Cancels European Tour Due to Legal Restraints

(AllHipHop News) Meek Mill has announced that he is cancelling his upcoming Dreamchasers European Tour, in what has been a tumultuous past two weeks for Philly/Maybach Music Group rapper.

While some have speculated that the cancellation is due to his association with the Chris Brown/Drake incident, it is actually related to a different set of circumstances that center around Meek’s previous felonies as described in his Tweet, alluding to a “felty.”

“The uk tour has been cancelled bcuz I can’t get in yet because felty past criminal record but my lawyer will get things fixed soon,” Meek Mill tweeted from his Twitter account @MeekMill.

Although the tour has been cancelled, it is likely that Meek will get the situation resolved with his lawyers in the coming months, and it’s clear Meek was disappointed and wants to get the tour underway.

“I wanted 2 come bad as s###! #uk we gone get it right!” he added via Twitter.

Meek Mill’s tour was supposed to hit the road beginning on July 4, with a stop in Rotterdam in the Netherlands.

The seven-date outing planned stops in cities like UK, Scotland and France, before winding down in Paris, France on July 10.

More details will be announced as news emerges on upcoming tour dates and concerts.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Did Rick Ross Shut Down Waka Flocka Flame?

I heard a lil’ rumor that Rick Ross and friends may have “compelled” Waka Flocka to fall back off those statements he made about people watering down his style.  You remember the interview he did with Complex, right – where he basically said Rick Ross stole his style. Here’s a refresher on what he said below:

“That’s crazy [that Rick Ross stole my swag], but what you gonna say? This n#### out here making 30 f**king sounds with your sound. He watering it down, just putting words together that sounded good. S### would be harder if it was the truth…n##### built labels off our sound—like, literally.

You know how many n##### sound like Lex Luger and Southside? I go in n#####’ studios, all their beats sound like my producers. I be like, What the f###? [But] you can’t be mad at something you can’t control.”

Well after that, he basically called Complex liars and that the quote was taken out of context. Uh, right? Who pressed him? I’m just saying…there is a big difference with what he said after. I heard he had a talking to. Hell, his mother is a G. She may have talked to him!

Hip-Hop Rumors: Is Lil' Wayne Pressuring Drake to Make Peace With Breezy?

In what some are saying is a straight business move, rumor has it that Lil’ Wayne and Bridman are pressuring Drake to end his beef with Chris Brown asap!

According to TMZ, sources close to Drake say Drizzy has received several calls from Weezy, Birdman, Mack Maine, and more – urging the rapper to extend an olive branch to Brown after last week’s nightclub brawl in NYC.

The source says that Weeezy is worried about the beef’s effect on his bottom line. Bottom line being that Chris Brown makes hits! And with Breezy being on Nicki Minaj’s single, “Right By My Side” as well as his features on several Young Money artists tracks, including Wayne himself, Weezy is not taking any chances and wants the issue resolved.

We hear Drake is skeptical on reaching out until he knows that Chris Brown doesn’t blame him for their huge bottle melee in NYC last week. Young Money’s on Drake’s side no matter what – but as one source put it, “Making money matters most.”

Hip-Hop Rumors: Chris Brown Says "Hip-Hop Is Dead"

In a phrase popularized by Nas, Chris Brown is now proclaiming that “Hip-Hop is dead.” In a rare interview, Chris Brown explains how the music industry is “broke,” and how that fact affects artists’ creativity. Check out what he said below:

“You know how they said Hip-Hop is dead, certain sh*t is dead? It’s really dead because nobody believes in the brand anymore.”

Breezy also goes on to chat about his belief in “ancient aliens”, and how his Fortune album artwork reflects that belief with a secret code in each album which his fans can decifer. Each album has a different message. Interesting.

Check out the interview below. You can go to the 3:50 mark to hear Breezy talk about Hip-Hop being dead:

Below is another interesting portion of the interview, where Breezy talks about trying to get a collabo with Michael Jackson and what type of legacy he wants to leave, as well as learning the “Thriller” dance in two days.

Nice interview. Breezy should talk to the press more. It may help his image!
