Givēon is the latest addition to Apple Music’s “Up Next” program. The R&B singer-songwriter joins a list of “Up Next” alumni that includes H.E.R., Megan Thee Stallion, Summer Walker, and Don Toliver.
“This is my first time I truly spoke about my journey in detail so the fact that it’s with Apple is unbelievable,” expresses Givēon. “I never would’ve thought it would happen this way. This is a dream come true and it makes me extremely excited for the future.”
On October 2, Givēon dropped When It’s All Said and Don via Epic Records. He worked with Apple Music to produce specific content connected to the project such as an exclusive film edition and a FaceTime interview with Apple Music host Nadeska.
“Givēon’s unique baritone voice and his ability to craft relatable songs about love and heartbreak make it easy to get lost in his music,” says Nadeska. “On his second EP, When It’s All Said and Done, the Long Beach singer once again showcases his strength for storytelling by taking us through the emotional progression of a relationship gone wrong.”
In May, Givēon received international attention when he appeared on Drake’s “Chicago Freestyle” record off the Dark Lane Demo Tapes project. The song peaked at number 14 on Billboard’s Hot 100, giving Givēon his first entry on the chart. The California native also released the Take Time EP earlier this year.
