Big Sean Donates $25,000 To Combat Student Homelessness

THE DETROIT RHYMER IS GIVING BACK ONCE AGAIN

(AllHipHop News) Big Sean continues to work to help others in need. Back in March, the Detroit native assisted in raising $100,000 to benefit victims of the Flint Water Crisis.

Now the Hip Hop star’s Sean Anderson Foundation has donated $25,000 to Wayne State University’s HIGH (Helping Individuals Go Higher) program. The money will go to provide support to students experiencing homelessness or uncertain housing situations.

“We see the HIGH Program as an important component of ensuring success at Wayne State, and we are proud to help strengthen its mission,” stated Sean Anderson Foundation president and Big Sean’s mother Myra Anderson. “We aim to boost graduation rates at the university by providing support to students facing hardship.”

Wayne State students in the HIGH Program receive short-term assistance. The goal is to return students to long-term stability and help them graduate.

“The Sean Anderson Foundation’s investment in the HIGH Program shows their commitment to assisting those in need,” added Jacqueline Wilson, Wayne State’s First Lady and HIGH Program founder. “With this gift, we will be able to help Wayne State students who are experiencing homelessness work toward a brighter future.”

Big Sean launched the Sean Anderson Foundation in 2012 with a vision to improve the quality of life for young people and their families. The organization has provided funds for Playworks Detroit, Detroit PAL, WJLB Coats, and other non-profits.
