Dr. Dre may be approaching billionaire status, but that has not stopped him from launching his Beats 1 Radio show called “The Pharmacy” over the July 4th Weekend. The show lives within the Apple Music ecosystem.

Dre explained to NME how he was wooed into it.

Explaining his decision to host the show, Dre said on air: “Jimmy Iovine [Beats co-founder] approached me with this idea about doing a radio station and broadcasting around the entire globe, man. And I was like, ‘What?’ Then I started thinking. I’ve made music. I’m making movies now. So a radio station? Why not.”
Apple Music was recently launched and also added to Apple iPhones’ operating systems.
