Drake’s “Houston Appreciation Weekend” To Feature Celebrity Charity Softball Game

DRIZZY IS WORKING TO GIVE BACK TO H-TOWN AREA YOUTH

(AllHipHop News) Drake is showing love to his “adopted home” this Memorial Day once again for the second annual “Houston Appreciation Weekend” (HAW). This year’s festivities will include a celebrity charity softball game to benefit the Houston Astros’ Urban Youth Academy.

“Drake has a deep passion for working with underprivileged, handicapped, and terminally ill youth,” states HAW event coordinator DeRonica Horn, CEO of Last eMpressions Event Design. “He has a long history of not only using his star power to benefit various organizations, but also dedicating his personal time and money to the benefit of children internationally.”

The Houston Appreciation Weekend Celebrity Softball game is open to the public. It is scheduled for Friday, May 22nd, at the University of Houston’s Cougar Field. The 2014 HAW event included a charity celebrity basketball game with Houston Rockets star James Harden, music artist Kirko Bangz, and Dallas Cowboys star wide receiver Dez Bryant.
