Fat Joe Compares His ‘Family Ties’ Album To ‘The Chronic’ & ‘Hamilton’

“The biggest hater on Earth is going to hear this album and he got no choice but to call it a classic.”

(AllHipHop News) Fat Joe is already proclaiming his forthcoming album is a masterpiece. Family Ties arrives on Friday, December 6. Before the set lands on DSPs, Joe talked about his latest body of work on On The Block with Billboard.

At one point during the conversation, the Terror Squad leader suggested that Family Ties will go down in history alongside other monumental works of art such as Dr. Dre’s groundbreaking album The Chronic and Lin-Manuel Miranda’s award-winning musical Hamilton.

“Some of the stuff I say is crazy and people cringe, but I look at it as a 2020 Dr. Dre’s Chronic,” said Joey Crack. “It’s undeniably a classic. The biggest hater on Earth is going to hear this album and he got no choice but to call it a classic.”

The Bronx emcee went on to say, “We got a classic, but the way you see the feature list, you might just think it’s a bunch of features. Some people get some features and put everything together. This album, it’s almost like Hamilton, to where ten years from now we could probably make a play of it.”

Family Ties will include contributions from Cool & Dre, Eminem, Lil Wayne, Mary J. Blige, Jeremih, Ty Dolla $ign, Boi-1da, and Hitmaka. Fat Joe already dropped the single “Yes” featuring Cardi B and Anuel AA.
