Flavor Flav’s Son Quan Talks Recruiting His Dad To Help Ignite His Music Career

Watch an exclusive clip from WE tv’s new reality show.

(AllHipHop News) The last installment of the Growing Up Hip Hop franchise will premiere on August 29. The New York edition features the progenies of Ja Rule, Irv Gotti, Fat Joe, Charli Baltimore, Old Dirty Bastard, Rev. Run, and DJ Kid Capri.

In addition, GUHH: NYC viewers will get to see Public Enemy hype-man Flavor Flav’s daughter Da’Zyn Dayton (aka Kushy) and his son Quan Drayton (aka Flee). WE tv provided AllHipHop with a sneak peek of a scene where Kushy and Flee meet with Rev. Run’s son JoJo Simmons.

In the clip, Simmons talks about looking for new artists for his own record label called Who’s House Entertainment. The reality show veteran then sits down with his Growing Up Hip Hop: New York castmates, and Flee discusses potentially collaborating with his famous father on a record.

“Having my pops, Flavor, on a track could do a lot. Basically, it’s gonna open up new doors for me,” says Quan in an interview confessional. “This is like only the big thing I really asked of him. And I know this sh*t gonna push my career to some high ass points because he’s a legend.”

The Growing Up Hip Hop: New York cast also includes Will Drayton, Jeff Bruce Atkins Jr., Brittney Atkins, Angie Pearson, Jonathan “JJ” Wilson Lorenzo, Ryan Cartagena, DJ Siaani, Young Dirty Bastard, Vina Love, and Madina Milana. Rapper/actress Lil Mama and her brother Arnstar are on the program as well.

Growing Up Hip Hop: New York airs Thursdays at 9:00 pm ET/PT on WE tv.
