(AllHipHop News) Funk Volume founder Hopsin ran into some trouble abroad, and could be banned from Australia.
The 31-year-old rapper was in Sydney last night and in a rambling Instagram post, Hopsin appeared to melt down and revealed he had been arrested.
Hopsin, born Marcus Hopson never revealed why he was arrested. But local reports suggested it was due to an altercation in the city.
Police told local outlets that they had arrested a 31-year-old man and charged him with common assault.
Whatever Hopsin did was enough to potentially get him barred from Australia, which is notorious for denying entry to rappers from entering the country, for much less offenses.
“Just got out of f##kin’ jail… over some total bulls##t. They’re really about to ban me from Australia now. This s##t f##kin sucks man. I hesitate to post what’s really going down in my life, so I hide it with my cool pictures. S##t ain’t really that pretty over here at all. You guys may ask ‘why take it to social media’ but you guys are all I got. since 14 I slaved away for the music and fanbase and now music is all I have. That’s just the cards I was dealt.”
Hopsin sounded almost suicidal during the post, referring to his own funeral, wanting to die and referencing Robin Williams, who committed suicide on August 11, 2014.
At the end of his Instagram post, Hopsin made it clear that he was not going to commit suicide, although he may take a break from rapping.
Hopsin is the cofounder of the influential independent label, Funk Volume, which had artists like Dizzy Wright, DJ Hoppa, Jarren Benton, SwizZz,and Kato.
The label imploded in January of 2016, during a feud between Hopsin and Funk Volume’s co-founder, Damien “Dame” Ritter.
